Lemerista didn't expect a little... dispute would occur. Glee shone in her icy blue eyes, but it disappeared in a mere millisecond. As much as fun as it was to observe their silly interaction, she was beyond schedule.
Really, she thought she could sugar coated the truth a little bit and wrapped them nicely around her fingers, but no. Some of them were smart and brave, surprisingly, especially those two...
Her lips were smiling, but it didn't reach her eyes.
In order to ensure that they wouldn't even think of cooperating, she needed to separate them or put a leash on them.
It was obvious which was easier...
Now, she just needed to decide which one.

"Please, stop fighting," it was a request, but the High Priestess' voice was enough to freeze them in place. "The more time we waste arguing among ourselves, the weaker the seal will be."
Adit quickly nodded at that, ignoring the throbbing pain on his cheek. "True! The Demon Lord could come out of his seal at anytime! We should all be a good buddy to each other, ya? I'm sorry to cause commotion! Don't worry! It won't happen again!"
What the...
Ivan instantly wary of the boy's quick changing nature. Was he an idiot or did he do it deliberately?
...or did the Priestess bitch's words carry hypnosis?
Lemerista clapped once and said, "Arguments aside, we are terribly sorry to inform you that we cannot grant your request. Alas, I wished I could give you to collect yourself and discuss this matter. We have no luxury to waste time. As I said before, the longer we wait, the faster this world nearing its end."
The High Priestess paused for a brief moment, and continued, "Seeing that no one said anything, let's move to the next agenda, shall we?"

As if on cue, the helper took two steps forward, presenting the void orb to them.
"This is the orb of truth. Contrary to the name, it does not discern the truth you say, but it is used to analyze your status, level, and skills. Everything about it."
"Skills!" Adit repeated cheerfully, "they really exist!"
The High Priestess laughed softly, "Of course they are. Would you like to be analyzed first?"
Adit nodded vigorously and approached the said orb.
"Place your hand on it and relax."
Perhaps due to bubbling excitement, his hand was trembling as he did as he was told. The darkness veiled the orb slowly dissipated in seconds after physical contact.
A pulsating light, initially as small as an egg, appeared in the middle of the darkness as if it was born out of it. Gradually it got bigger and dispersed, slowly resembling Milky Way spinning softly in outer space.
The scene was so mesmerizing that Adit couldn't tear his eyes away from it. The orb was so... intriguing, captivating, and somehow relaxing.
Then all of a sudden, a window popped out of the ball.

"Oh, my goodness! Such high attributes!" the priestess gasped. "Three passive skills and a talent bestowed from God! Not to mention it's tier two! The Mashiach must've chosen you to represent Him!"
Ivan clicked his tongue. Damn it, that boy did it again.
What would happen if the others weren't as powerful as him? Would that bitch get angry and had them locked up in jails or would she let it slide as if nothing happened?

"Next!" a knight guarding the High Priestess bellowed.
No one moved from their spot.
It was natural no one stepped forward. The idiot set the bar too high. Anxious, fear, distrust painted the otherworlders' face. Anxious of their own status, fear of being the receiving end of insults, and feeling distrustful of others.
"Next hero!" he repeated, yet no one dared to move...
...until Andre sighed and stepped up.

To be honestly speaking, the heroes were pathetic. All of them just glued to their place, like a lost chick. No, not a chick. They were ugly ducklings.
Disgusting, cowardly, out of place, and weak ugly ducklings. They made her question the will of the Mashiach. Were they truly His chosen warriors or did she just summoned a group of mindless, spineless idiot?
Once again, her smile didn't reach her eyes.
Disgusting...
She quickly changed her mind after seeing one of the heroes' status. Despite being brainless and bubbly, he had powerful starting passive skills and a talent, a rare gift reserved for the chosen one. The probability of someone receiving talent was roughly 1:100, but maybe that calculation didn't apply to otherworlders?
We will see...
She smiled to the next hero, tall and rather muscular.
Hmph, must be a >.
Just like the name implied, > class was a powerful melee attacker, favoring his fists instead of using weapons. However, heavy armor impeded their movement and their repertoire was limited only to CQB. Their mana capacity was also too low to support them in a long battle.
> class she knew was useful only in a battle you were certain to win.
The burly hero placed his hand and the same window popped out, but the content managed to shock the entire room.

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online

Peeta Mellark has survived the Hunger Games, he escaped the Quarter Quell, then he was rescued from the torturous hands of the Capitol. His memory has been tampered with, so everything he sees could be either real or fake. Instead of a smooth recovery, he is thrown right into war. What would become of him in the end? Broken. (Taking place a little over halfway through the Mockingjay book and after the movie Mockingjay Part 1) This is a somewhat sequel to the other story I wrote called Hijacked, but I think you could read this without reading the other one.
