“Why are you feeling scared, little Core?” Akasha asks with an innocent tone, yet still having that crazed look in her eyes. I don’t know how to answer that question without her wanting to tear me apart, so I say hey Akasha, can you explain to me what is going on.

“Sure“ she yells with fervor, with her eyes glazed over with passion.

So I am just going to throw some questions at you, can you answer them, I ask with a questioning tone at the lunatic that only seems to care about knowledge.

“Alright, stick them to me, they don’t call me the Lunatic Scholar for nothing.” She says with a prideful tone in her voice as if the title of a Lunatic Scholar is something to be prideful of.

Alright so first off, how do I tell what my skills do, I ask, but in my mind, I am yelling, I knew it system you want to start a war with me. I will find a way to strike back at you, but I must say your first blow was strong, sending a crazed scholar as my assistant, though I will strike you with a harder blow when I can.

“Yeah, that is a good one to start with, though not the most interesting, I digress, the easiest way to find out what a skill does is to look at its description. Which is also easy, cause all you have to do is focus on it, but the description won’t give you everything, so I highly recommend you use it at some point,” Akasha says, for the first time, she sounds like the scholar she is.

Alright then, so I am just going to open up my stats, I say still unwilling to open up completely with Akasha.

“You should share your status with me too, so I have an idea of what I am working with. Oh, I almost forgot that you are new here, so all you have to do is will your status to be seen by me,” Akasha says with the tone that she is about to drool, the scholarly look dissolved away.

I summoned my status, but before I send it to Akasha, I take a quick look at my temporary abilities and see that the summon assistant skill is gone. Alright, here you go Akasha, how does my status look? I say in a sarcastic tone, because I already know that she is not going to be impressed.

“Oh my god, 1000 mana and Divine energy with 2 Max level skills. Though the stats are pretty bad, who cares, you have Divine energy. I just saw your Archetype too, and its book's that amazing, your race is even Unique too, so no wonder I have not read about it. Come on, show me what your skills and titles do,” Akasha says, almost yelling with the words spilling from her mouth like a waterfall. “Though you should probably get yourself a name first before you do anything” She goes back to her scholarly tone.

Alright, I’ll name myself, but out of curiosity, why is naming myself so important? I ask with honest curiosity in my voice.

“Oh yeah, I should explain that, well names are important and powerful not just in the symbolic senses but also in a practical sense. Names anchor us and make us harder to control with mind magic or just plain old demonic and divine influence. Since we are on this topic, I should probably explain that dungeons are most likely taken over by a divine, demonic, or just a straight-up person with a high mind magic skill level when the dungeon is young. With this control over the dungeon core, the force that controls it will use it to do what they need at the time they gain control over it, which most of the time is wealth and power.” She says the first half with her scholarly tone, but when she gets to the part about people who control the dungeons, I can feel a slight tinge of fear through our bond. This causes me to think, did she have a past in slavery, well whatever I do I should not bring this topic up again.

To get both our minds off the depressing topic, I thought that I should think up a new name. This is mostly because I don’t want to go with my old name. After all, I am a new person in a new world… I know what name I want, instead of having Jacob as my name I will use my last name instead which is Umbra. I always thought my last name was cool, so why not go with it.

Furthermore, I have decided that my new name will be Umbra. Is there any problem with that, I ask in a high and mighty tone to get her out of brooding. I can see that I got her to smirk.

After I say that, my status comes popping back into my face with Umbra as the name. Before I can even think about it, I have already willed it to Akasha. Akasha seems surprised by the sudden status, but begins to re-investigate it further.

“So I see you chose the name Umbra, which is a good name in my eyes. But enough dilly-dallying, show me what your skills do. I am dying to see them.” Akasha says it with fervor near the end.

Wait, I am just as excited as you are about my skills but shouldn't you tell me about the stats before we go into the skills, I say trying to get some more info about things before we both spiral into the skill descriptions.

“Fine, but after this no more beating around the bush, alright. ” After getting my confirmation she continues, “Ok, so starts on a person and dungeon core are different, but I will describe it the best I can. Toughness is the strength of your core and how much force it needs before it starts taking damage. Presence is your aura and is also how large your area of influence can get. Intelligence is your cognitive ability as well as your learning ability, so I recommend you get it higher. Lastly, Will is your overall monster limit. Though you can dive deeper into what they mean and do for you, that is the basics done, so just show me the skills and title description before I go insane.” She states yelling near the end of her little speech.

Though I did just get a lot of info from Akasha, I feel like I should just show the description of my titles and skills to her. Oh, and I better not forget to see her status, either.

“Well yeah, I would have to agree cause almost every dungeon has this skill, but I do say your variant is interesting because that could mean you can create demi-planes somehow,” she noted. “I also do have to say that dungeons that were originally lost souls almost always have interesting monsters, so I can’t wait to see what you come up with.”

Wait, you knew I was a lost soul, I say, the shock elevating my voice.

“Yeah, newborn dungeons without a lost soul can only speak in feelings and emotions, so it was quite obvious.” she laughs out.

Yeah, alright, moving on, I say in embarrassment.

“Yes, another basic ability all dungeons have, though I am still wondering how a newborn dungeon is supposed to create demi-planes, though I would hazard a guess that it would be your divine energy.” Akasha hypothesizes.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot what is divine energy, I say while on the edge of my seat waiting for an answer.

“Guess I never explained it, well divine energy is kinda like the energy the world uses to create things, it is not inherently good or bad, but only the system knows how to make it reliable.” Akasha states.

“You're right when you say it does not have many pros for you, but nobles would pay a hefty sum for a skill like that, so they can expand their political influence easier. But for your second question, I would presume that system uploaded Common into your core, cause that is the language I’m currently speaking,” she says while presuming most of it. “But if you don’t mind, we're getting close to the end so can you speed things up,” she asks.
