《Dungeon of books》Surprise before the beginning - Chapter 4

If I had eyes they would be bulging out of my head at the moment, Level 357 how is that even possible, I yell surprise rolling off with each word. Before I could investigate her status even further it suddenly disappears
“Alright let's move onto the good stuff,” Akasha says, obviously trying to move the conversation to a different topic. However, before I could comment on her behavior she says something that catches my attention. “I do think I know what Room Delegation does.” see how this caught my attention she continues, “Room Delegation is an ability that allows one to delegate a room to something like a kitchen or training yard, when you delegate something the ability then magically alter the room to be what you have delegated it as.”
So what you're saying is that I can delegate the room that we are in, into something more habitable, I say now thinking of the possible rooms I may get from the delegation.
“Yeah I do believe it would be in our best interests to activate the ability now,” she says thinking about our future.
Yeah, I am quite bored of just staring at nothing but stone walls. Let's see what the ability does, I say with little to no enthusiasm cause I already think I know what the ability will give me.

Seeing the possible options made me ecstatic because I only thought I would end up getting a Library, with ancient ruins I could have people running around a labyrinth to find books with the demi-plains inside of them while there are a ton of duds. There are so many possibilities, sadly pain hits hard.
“Pick Library,” Akasha says in the scariest tone yet, but cause I was just thrown out of my musings, I did not hear the danger coming.
Huh, I say in a far too idiotic tone.
“I said pick library” In a tone devoid of emotions, though now I’m getting scared at this point, I Soldier on, But why though, there are so many cooler options, I declare trying to keep my fear from being sent through our bond. “I’ve always wanted to live in a library, but they keep kicking me out,” she announces. That is the only reason why you want to pick Library, I say in a deadpan voice. “Pick it or I’ll make your life a living hell,” she says in a voice so devoid of emotions that it feels like it is leaching the vibrancy of the world away.
Fine, I say defeatedly, 'cause it felt as if that one word leached a part of my life away. With my mind, I selected the library as my delegation for the room, still feeling sour that I had to pick it.

Seeing these options there really is only one choice, huh, I say with a deadpan voice.
“Yes, there is,” Akasha says with child-like glee.
With only a few choice words for the system, I mentally click the special options.

After seeing the mana cost I started to have a bad feeling, I took a quick look at Akasha and she also has a grimace on her face but before I could analyze what is happening any further I feel a tugging sensation and feel as if something was just ripped from my body, I took another look at Akasha and see she's in clear pain so at least I have it easier, then just as I thought that a massive wave of pain rolls into me making me blackout.
When I came too, I took a bit of time to come to bearings and remember what just happened. When I remembered everything again, a window pops up like a new puppy.
Necessary energy found

Would you like to start the changes?
I stared at the window in utter bewilderment, cause I just woke up to something that it did to me and it was here like nothing happened? I quickly take a look around for my partner and I can spot that she is still passed out, nudging the link, I felt that it would not be good to wake her up now. I tried to take a look at my core book and all I could say is that my glow was weak, and not only that but I felt empty somehow, but not empty like the void, or was it the abyss, well whatever it is it is not that, So I decided to take a quick look at my status.

When I saw that I was at low mana, all I felt was that’s to be expected but when I looked at my divine energy, I almost screamed out in anguish cause it was a finite resource that I have no idea how to get more of. I just wasted all that on cosmetics. What a shit trade-off, I go screaming in my mind.

When Akasha finally wakes up and gives me a look that is just asking me why I am sulking, I respond with We just wasted all the mana we had and 4 of my divine energy, on something that won’t be useful.
“Wait, It cost 4 divine energy,” She says, shock evident in her voice, she then bits down on her fingernails, after a while of both our silence she continues, “well what is done is done just finished that activation.”
Yeah, you're right, I’ll start things up, I utter in a slightly depressed tone. I then mentally replied to the window with a yes, almost as I said yes things started changing.
The stone walls around us started to fall away revealing the nothingness around us, though as if it was teleportation we moved. Then suddenly we were on a terrace overlooking an infinite row of bookshelves going in all four cardinal directions, the terrace we were on had several small empty bookshelves lined around four tables and lastly a counter sitting there as if waiting for Akasha to sit in it. The bookshelves that lined every direction felt as if they were still expanding, and I can see books constantly spawning and flying around with supersonic speeds. Moving my consciousness to the edge of the terrace I was able to see the bookshelves also went down for what seems like forever, I also felt something strange as If this area wanted me to do something then it clicked, I was able to place an exit somewhere and I quickly surmised that once the exit is placed, I would directly be open to the world. But before I could investigate the area even further I hear a yell of joy and turn around to see Akasha fly headfirst into a barrier that surrounds the terrace. Akasha stands up with a jolt, then runs over to my core book that was just floating in the center and grabs it with gentle hands.
Shaking me around Akasha yells at me “Umbra do you know what’s going on here, all this knowledge is just out of my reach. Do you know what I could do with that knowledge?” as I am being shaken around to the point even my consciousness becomes dizzy, I say through stammered words Like I said this is most likely all cosmetic changes with no practical value except good looks.
“Even though that makes sense please tell me that this was not just all a decoration, please,” she says while crying tears, completely surprised by this reaction of Achasha, I attempt to calm her down by sending soothing words to her through our link.
We stayed like this for several hours. I try to calm her down when she abruptly says, “Can you at least let me read your contents.”
Huh, I replied completely befuddled, cause I knew my core book was well a book, but I didn’t know you could read it but by this point, it was getting slightly awkward, so I just decided to agree with her request to read me, Yeah sure though I don’t know my contents. Now that I was relooking at my core book I noticed a few things have changed, like how my book has a cover now, even though all it says is Umbra, it also looks more defined, more real if you were to say though I don’t know how that change occurred.
“Yeah, cause since I have laid my hand on you I’ve always wanted to read you and decipher you,” Akasha says with that fever in her eyes, though in the not so far past I would have feared this look but now all I do is chuckle cause I know she means no harm. She then speed off with my core book, to the inside area of the counter where usually a librarian would sit but it looks like she fits the position there, in an odd sort of way.
Opening my core book up, Akasha dives in but soon says, “Huh, this is weird, that text is ever-changing and the words are from a language I have never seen before.”
Wanting to get a look at what is inside of my core book, I then realize even staring at my core book from over the shoulder of akasha, I can’t read what is on the paper, let alone see it. It is as if I refuse to see it my eyes were constantly overlooking it. Now at this point, Akasha has started to note down symbols that I also refused to see, so she can piece together the meaning of the words inside my book like a person discovering a new language she digs in with even more fervor.
Hey, Akasha, since you're working on that, I am going to begin work on one of my demi-planes, alright. I call out to her after just waiting around for about an hour and becoming bored. “Yeah, ok just show it to me,” she replies with an almost dismissive tone.
So let’s get to work. I start to activate my skill book creation, getting ready for my first book in my dungeon.

8 225The Immortal
There was once a certain man who never died. When ancient trees withered, he flourished. When kingdoms, empires, and nations fell, he stood. When surrounded by immortals, he laughed. And when the world was gone, he remained. This is his tale. I take 0% credit for the title picture. I just pasted stuff together and did the best I could with a mac touchpad.
