I am currently walking down a slope. It appears that the destination is some kind of valley. Hilly grass fields were blocking my vision, so I have no idea what it looks like from afar.

Because we are not fighting anything, I use this time to grind my crafting skills.

[Skill Leveled up: ]. Can't make potions from [Grass], sadly. However, the various flowers and plants I picked yesterday sure helped.

_ Fuelri: Obviously. Most people just pick a crafting skill they want to pursuit and main it. There's no combination skill for crafting so no one can be a jack of all trades even if they want to.

…I just heard something really interesting.

_ Shadyna: Combination skill? What is that?

_ Fuelri: It's a skill that combines a variety of skills you have. Helpful when your skill menu is cluttered, but not much else.

So I may have something like [Full Regeneration] or [All resistance]?!

_ Shadyna: Why is it not helpful? Is it hard to grind?

_ Fuelri: For example, the [Elemental Resistance] combines all resistance skills for fire, water, earth, lightning, wind and nature. It levels up at a one-third rate compares to a single component skill. If you want to grind all six skills, it is faster to grind the combination skill. However, if you main fire resistance, it takes you 3 times longer to be as strong.

Ah, the price of being jack of all trades. Everything takes longer.

Still, because my goal is to enjoy the game to its fullest, I want to try it out!

_ Shadyna: Please teach me all the combination skills you know!

_ Fuelri: …Should have seen this coming, this stupid me…

Well, it's not like I can acquire those skills just because I know how to. The condition to get one requires careful planning to begin with. Having all the component skills is one thing, you also need to have them at the same skill levels!

Which means, I should get all the combination skills I want right now, when my skills are all at level 0 or 1. When they become higher I will have to grind the other skills to satisfy the condition!

And why is there no combination skill for crafting…? I would like to be cooking a delicious meal while making a dragon-slaying sword as I mix herbs for a life-saving elixir…

Hopes and dreams, kind of ruined~

After the unexpected lecture about skill, we reach our destination.

A massive valley, with no end in sight. The sky seems to be a bit tinted compared to Tyrel. Then again, that's the last thing I need to worry about here.

There's no "plant" as far as I can see. In their place, crystals, lots of crystals, occupy the area.

"Trees" are red-tinted crystalline formations that gives an impression of a typical wood tree, with sharp-looking leaves hanging around. If I crash into them, would they deal damage?

The "ground" is a brownish surface that resembles dirt ground, but it is definitely reflective! I can see my blurry image on it as we walk. This place is probably bad for skirt-wearing players. But too bad, my current leather outfit is hot pants and sleeveless shirt!

And the image is too blurry to do anything, unless you are extremely desperate, in which case it's easier to just lie down on the ground and wait for someone like here to pass by.

Her outfit is iron-padded heavy armor by the way. As expected of a fantasy game, its lower part is a skirt.

Don't worry, this true pacifist here will decimate any pervert around you!

When you see crystals, it will be mining, obviously! Using the crystals from the trees around, I managed to make this pickaxe. The grade is higher than the grass equipment, but it is just not possible to get a normal equipment at this level huh…

_ Shadyna: I do~. Concentrate, tear them piece by piece!!!

Since I have no dagger, I just use my pickaxe to hit the corpse item of the crystalline wolf-like monster.

Grass equipment only gives +1 to status, I wonder if the difference is from quality, materials, or enhancement?

My leather armor gives 15 PDF by the by. It was made from the leather of monsters in Tyrel's grasslands, so it's pretty much newbie clothing, just with normal quality. Was carrying this around to bribe new girls with big boobs…?

Today, she picked up a wild newbie because that girl seems to be so clueless it hurts conscience to leave her alone.

The cute cry is just out-of-place, as the pickaxe slams into the tree, destroying it immediately. Then it flies into the air, falls into the ground, creates a crater where it lands, and finally bounces off again to drop into the lake behind the tree with a big splash.

_ Shadyna: My pickaxe!!!

It should help increase loot when dismantling, being made by [Construction] and all. It was hard work bringing all the corpse items back to the tent though…

When a monster dies, you get the item bag containing its corpse (or loots if you whacked it so hard only the few loots remain), but throwing it out of your inventory reveals the full item, whether it's a potion, or a [Merexxa Corpse].

This immersion is weird, Sateri…

The poor monster was utterly crushed as she thrusts the spearhead into its head. Too brutal!

Ah, I can see damage number if I'm a party member. It's something 800.

You sure asked that a lot huh, Elri~

That is much weaker compared to my [Accelerate Power], but it still gives a massive boost. [Accelerate Bonus], that is. It's the downgraded skill that was put in the moment Elri received the weapon.

She has a better chance against Hessy now, but that's only if she started the fight running towards the target.

You can only trigger this passive skill if you are running near full speed when it hits after all. For a halberd with swinging attacks, Elri will only have the alpha strike with this skill applied.

I did explain properly, since I don't want her to be high on power and pick a fight with Hessy again.

A hot-tempered elf with an overpowered first strike, I sure have unleashed something scary to the world~

The expenditure has come to an end. 3 out of 10 parties were devoured by the snakes along the way, but they managed to reach the center of the forest, above where the Magnus Bestia floats menacingly.

They couldn't find a way to kill it, but the intel they gathered will be vital for the upcoming battle. Everyone silently mourns the devoured until they get back to town and have a party outside 's shop to celebrate, including the devoured themselves.

_ Vladina: I refuse. She's bringing a lot more customers to our identification shops.

Usually, there will be a surge of customers after a raid as they need new food buffs. The march on the Magnus Bestia was such a raid, but the surge wasn't there.

Not in the tavern at least.

Locations have no names as they cannot be inspected, so players just name them as they see fit, and it usually sticks as long as the name is easy to remember.

Crystal Valley is the valley filled with crystal entities not far from Tyrel. Most drops there are considered to have high magical properties, so it's good source of materials for mid-level enchanters.

The usual customers are still here, and is glad for that.

Is there a way to know if you are doing well in this game? Like the ideal damage of your attacks at a certain level?

It's hard to adjust my playstyle when I have no idea if I am doing things correctly.

Damage is not a good indicator considering you can gain experience doing non-combat activities like crafting.

It's acceptable to farm in lower level fields, or even in higher level fields. If you are craft-oriented, it's totally fine to spend days in the market instead of exterminating wildlife.

If you are having fun and not having trouble playing, I would say you are doing well.
