I just have a feeling that today is not going to be a good day. Why? Well, aside from what happened few hours ago, it’s the weather that’s bothering me. It was sunny few hours ago, and now it’s very very very cloudy. Did I say very? Yes. Very… You can also hear the roaring sound of lightning that is passing through the clouds. Am I scared of lightning? No, I’m not scared of such thing, but I hate rain. Not sure if many others can relate to me but weathers like this makes me lazy, and unproductive. I get this feeling where I don’t want to do anything, and feel really tired.

It’s been about 2 hours since we have left the forest. According to Aaron we were close by and should be there before the rain starts pouring down on us. Now, you may ask wait, weren't you in middle of the forest? How are you near Astralis town already? Uh… yeah… It’s kind of embarrassing to say but Sera is carrying me again. Not sure why… but maybe she likes carrying people? I declined her many times but she still insisted. I’m pretty sure she has her own reasons.

Basically, I was getting carried by Sera, while she is running at a fast pace, and Aaron, and Jade is basically following behind her. I don’t think anybody can get used to being carried like a carriage on somebody else's arms. Feels wei..r..d..

“Hey, Skylar? We are here.” (Sera)

“Mm... Huh?”

Did I fall asleep?

“Pfft, Yeah, and you have something on your face.” (Sera)

I noticed it right as she mentioned it. It was my drool that was running down left of my mouth. God, this is embarrassing. I fell asleep, while I was getting carried by a girl for I don’t know how many hours! Someone please kill me now! I can’t live with this embarrassment. Gah!!!

In a hurry, I cleaned my drool and got off her arms.

“Uh, Thanks for carrying me here… are your arms okay?”

“Oh. Don’t worry about it. So this is nothing for me.” (Sera)

“Aha, I see.” Her saying that it’s alright, does not make it alright. It’s completely abnormal. Maybe I’m just being culturally shocked?"

“Skylar, Look.” (Aaron)

I looked towards where Aaron pointed and was astonished by what was in front of me. There was a huge white wall. It spread through the sides like a dome except there was no top covering it. It seemed like it was about 40 to 50 meters tall. How do I know that? Well, I don’t. I’m just imagining MTA buses and lining them up straight. MTA buses are about 23 meters long I think. Think of it as like this. The wall looked like the top part of pokeball cut in half with it’s top shaved off. Tada, a dome like walls? I guess? Sorry, I’m terrible at describing things. Anyways, There were many people who stood in many different lines in order to get through the gate entrances that was built through the wall. There were many kinds of people, townspeople, merchants, adventurers? And !!! rabbit ears? Are those people the demi-humans that Aaron talked about? Wait, they are in shackles..

“Oi, hurry up you two!” (Guard 1)

“On our way. Come on, Skylar, Let’s go.” (Sera)

“Wait, wait, I still haven’t finished looking around~”

I was dragged by Sera and was able to get into the inspection room. The inspection room wasn’t very spacious. It’s actually small, you might be able to fit about 5 adults in there?

“Please, place your belongings here. It will all be inspected.” (Guard 1)

The guard handed us a wooden crate to put our bags in for it to be searched. Ah, the classic let me look through all your shit, and fuck your privacy. Oops, sorry, bad memories I had at the airport few months ago for vacation is coming back.

Anyways, I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to let them inspect my bag. What if they find my gun? What about my nyquils, snickers, and sour patch kids. Nooo, they will definitely think it’s strange and suspect me.

“Pss.. Sera… What happens if they suspect me here?”

“Don’t worry. Nothing should be happening because rank B adventurers can usually go through without any suspicion. You see how we didn’t stand on that long line and came to the side? The side entrances are for B rank adventurers and above, and their companions. Since, Sir Aaron is an B rank adventurer they should just let us pass.” (Sera)

“Aha…”

We’ve waited for about 30 minutes? How am I so good with time? Because I have an Iphone! Tada! It’s battery is at 20% though so for now, I’m going to turn it off. Just in case, I ever need it.

“The inspection is done, but I have a question to ask. Who does this strange looking bag belong to?” (Guard 2)

Eek! Did they find me out?

“It belongs to me. Haha… Is something wrong?”

“No sir, we apologize for being rude earlier. I didn’t know you were a noble sir. Here is your bag sir.” (Guard 2)

Uh… What?

“Uh, Skylar? Is there something that you need to tell us?” (Aaron)

“I don’t think so?”

After retrieving the bag from the guard, we decided to head out of the inspection room. We then headed away from the inspection room and entered the town, but… before we got further into the town, the three called me and took me to an alley way… I’m actually really scared right now.

“What was that just now, they called you a noble. You lied to us?” (Jade)

Jade sheathed his sword with after saying that with a threatening tone. This is not good. Why!!!! I knew this weather meant something terrible was going to happen to me.

“No, no… I don’t know what’s going on.”

“Hold on Jade… Hm, Skylar, Mind if I check your bag?” (Sera)

“Sure.”

I handed my bag to Sera. She then started to take out my items one by one. Large egg, Bottle of Nyquil, Coins that I took, etc, everything was going smoothly until they saw the fancy scabbard that I took with me.

“You! How do you have that? Only nobles carry this with them.” (Jade)

“Uh, I took it when I killed the bandits. They had it in their carriage. Look, I don’t know anything. I swear.”

“ Calm down Jade. Do you really think Skylar would lie to you about him being a summoned one? How would you explain the weapon he brought. Think before you act.” (Sera)

“Hm… I see… Well, I don’t see any problem here. All we have to do is discard the scabbard and move on. All we had to confirm was whether if Skylar was a noble or not right?” (Aaron)

“Yea…” (Jade)

Whew, thanks to Sera and Aaron, I survived this one again. What is the scabbard even about anyways?

“Sorry to bother you guys but what is the meaning of this scabbard anyways?”

“Basically, this scabbard indicates that you are from a noble family. Every head of the noble household gets one with their name inscribed in it. If you were to found out that this is stolen scabbard you would be in a serious trouble. The name is inscribed with magic so it’s not possible to reform it unless you are a top tier magician or a blacksmith. There are no top tier magicians here nor blacksmiths, so it’s better for you to destroy it before someone else gets there hands on it. It is possible to abuse the scabbard for many things because commoners don’t have the right to ask whether if the scabbard really belongs to the noble or not. They would just die on the spot for asking ‘stupid’ questions.” (Aaron)

“I see.”

“Anyways, we are lucky that they didn’t suspect us. Actually it was kind of a good thing because they didn’t ask you any questions about the strange belongings that you were carrying.” (Aaron)

He is right. Thank god.

“Ah, I see. I guess this weather didn’t matter much to my luck!”

And as I said that it started to rain. Unlucky.

“Let’s quickly head to the adventurer's guild and avoid the rain there. I have task to hand in anyways, and the adventurers guild will probably be useful to you Skylar because they have most of the informations for newcomers. Also, that’s where we will be parting for a little. Let's hurry up and destroy the scabbard.” (Aaron)

Aaron took the scabbard and put it on the floor. He then started to draw some circles with weird symbols on them. He then started to chant, and few seconds later Boom! with a loud noise the scabbard literally burned to ashes. It was another fire magic but way stronger than the one before. I'm pretty sure his fire mastery is not even maxed. If it's that big when it's not maxed, Oh my god. How crazy would it be to use a fire skill at max level?

"Alright, Let's head out, and Jade, apologize to Skylar." (Aaron)

"Sorry..." (Jade)

Sigh...
