*Whoosh*
"GO! Let's see how you fare newbie!"
"Dammit! How the hell am i supposed to contend with that?"
*Boom!*
"Come on! A simple fire mage is enough to stop you? Hah! And you call yourself elite?"
"No! I don't! You do! And there is a fucking barrier of fire on the only entrance to that shitty cave! I can't see shit in the inside!"
"HAHAHA! If it was so easy we wouldn't have been summoned don't you think? Now get your ass off that rock and stop that mage!"
*Whoosh*
Think think think.
*Boom!*
"Shit!" That shit just sticks to everything! It is fucking magical napalm!
*Whoosh* *Boom!*
Wait! Of course! That's it!
*Whoosh* One, two, three,fou*Boom!*
"Still alive newbie? If you take much more time the vanguard will finish with the distraction and i don't think they will like what we are trying to do!"
"I'm on it!"
Five seconds between volley and four more to explode... Now!
I pick up a rock and get off cover and stand in the open, advancing like a fool.
"Hey! I'm heeere!" Aaaand...
*Whoosh* If this doesn't work that's gonna hurt...
*Swoosh* *Plop* *Boom!*
"Hyyyaaaaaagg!!!"
"Ha! That worked!"
"Damn, newbie! Didn't think you could pull that off. Alright guys, make sure that one's dead, shouldn't be too difficult after a direct hit from his own spell, those things are nasty and burn like mad."
"It's done, serge! Burned half'is head off, bashed the other half in."
"A'ight boys, contract's done so let's get the hell outta here."
"Well done newbie, but i have to say, not many have that accuracy throwing random objects like that rock, nor the timing to intercept the spell and send it back, on the other hand, why haven't you bought any weapon? I can't see that poncho being so expensive."

"To be honest i don't know how to use almost anything you have for sale, it's all medieval-like weapons and such, most advanced i've seen was a crossbow so..."
"Right, you probably come from a technologically advanced world. Well, you see, with a quasi-infinite number of realities there is not much that all of them have in common, souls is one thing, and the system is another, and that is basically all, if you bring something from one world to another, the most probable thing that can happen is that it can't even exist there and it just destabilizes reality, and even if it doesn't just explode in your face it sure as hell isn't going to work as intended, but you know what works everywhere, every time?"
"What?"
"Stabbing them in the eye, and bashing their heads in. That works, and we stick to that."
"Wait but, if we can't bring things from one reality to another, why can we bring these weapons? Hell, why can we go ourselves? We are not exactly from that reality."
"No, we aren't. But here, we are just souls given shape, and our own soul power keeps us stabilized, that's why we can recover from almost anything, why we don't need to sleep, or eat or get tired while we are here. And when we go somewhere we adopt a body according to local laws and our soul power is usually not enough to maintain us, so we sleep, eat, heal slower, etcetera..."
"That still doesn't explain how we bring our things, they don't have souls... do they?"
"No, but hell is not like the other realities, it was made to be a staging ground for hellspawn so every time we are summoned the summoner has to offer something to hell, diluted soul power, usually called mana, and objects, which are then turned into soulstuff that we can then use to build and craft things, and those things can be brought to other realities using our soul power and used there, but that only works for things that don't have to change, like a sword, or a poncho, we can't make explosives or acids because we can't know how they will react to wherever we go, the most we can do is make things that affect the souls of system races, but those things are costly, and usually one-time use, and need a shit ton of power to bring and keep stable so..."

"...So we keep to bashing heads?"
"You got it, newbie."

The Chronicles of Shard: Never a Name Spoken
Shard, a world drowned, yet dotted with islands, is set at odds in a war older than memory. One, Lagoon, feels remarkably at peace. Imprisoned upon Gabriel’s Tear, a nearby rock jutting from the sea, the witch crooned powerless in all her telepathic fury. Though all were awash with fear, should they wander within range of her all-seeing eye. Bedtime stories were told to keep children in check, lest they be whisked away in the night and devoured. None dared speak her name. Ciroc, a young boy, was soon to be enmeshed in her future . . . and that of the council, who controlled all in an iron grip. Not even Mother Sea could predict the outcome. Woe be to this blue planet. Woe be to this blue marble called Shard.

B's Grand Adventure
It has been two hundred years since the first contact with aliens from the planet Proxima Centauri. It has been about one hundred and ninety-eight since the Centurians and humans accidentally connected their computer systems together. That same year Centurian virus took over almost all of humanity's computers. This was right about the time a huge solar flare knocked out all communication on Earth. Some time between then and now secrets were revealed, like secret societies, where the nukes were being hidden, and, most importantly, that there were Fae, magic beings, living among humanity all this time. The Proxima Centurians eventually came to the now weakened Earth to 'check on' humanity about fifty years ago. Some say they are here to colonize what's left of the city-states and raiders alike. But now we focus on a young man who has earned the ire of a Centurian colony and a powerful half-Fae named Jormungrand. This young man has chosen the name for himself as B.
