《The French Conflict》Chapter 10: The New and Improved Hikari

"By the way, Hikari. I think you've gotten strong enough to use your first special power." Amanda tells me two days after the events with the "dark me". Since that happened I've been training non-stop. The wolf meat has been enough for me and I got the fire starting by using the bow technique.
"Oh, really? How do I use it then?" I asked. I shouldn't have my power turned on but it gets lonely out here in the forest. I decided to scrap the mountain plan and just stay in this forest.
"I'll activate it for you" Amanda said. I could feel some foreign power pour into me, it was quite a strange feeling.
"OK, done. Just concentrate and turn it on." She continued. I felt very excited, Even Amanda didn't know what I was going to get for power. I close my eyes and concentrate on my power. I feel the new energy flowing through me, I open my eyes and say
"Special ability: ON!"
As I say that, flames embrace me. Ooooooooooh, I got fire powers! That's super cool.
"Looks like you got some kind of firepower." Amanda comments.
I try focusing the fire on one point and it instantly goes there, So I have full control over the flames. I try to aim at some extra logs I have to the side. I focus the flames to my palm and shoot out to my surprise blue flames. Who would've thought?
I spend half of the day practicing my physical abilities. Apparently, I have pretty good genes because I have already noticed that I'm significantly stronger than before. The other half I practice my power, technique and the strength of it. This routine continues for a couple of days, along the day I go out to hunt for food. But I kill the animals very fast to keep them out of misery. I barely slept as well. After 7 days of doing this, I decided it was time to head back to school. I had used my knife to cut my hair. I took my stuff and said goodbye to the forest, before I left I also prayed at the wolves grave. I walked for a couple of hours until seeing the school in the distance, I wasn't even feeling winded. I start running towards it. When I was still in the forest before I left Amanda said something of importance

"Oh, by the way. The dark you have come back."
"What? Look like I'm gonna have to go back there." I said
"No, wait. I actually have control of him." Amanda said
"Hello, Hikari. We meet again. I don't have the power to take over right because someone here has gotten pretty strong feelings for you." The dark me said
"Shut up!" I heard Amanda say, I also heard a slap in the background.
So now I get the blue aura when I turn on my power and when I turn on the next level I get a black aura and when I turn on my special ability, which I leveled up to the third level by the way, I get embraced by blue and red flames.
I take a turn to enter the school grounds and instantly I see Karl harassing Camille.
"You made me look bad, Camille!" Karl screamed at her
"Sorry." I heard Camille say while staring at the ground.
"Oh, you're about to be sorry." Karl said and raised his hand to punch her. Camille closed her eyes and waited for it to be over. But I wasn't about to let this happen. I almost teleport to them and Karl throws his punch. I catch his fist and he looks at me.
"Who the hell are you supposed to be?" He said.
Had I changed that much? I responded with spite
"Weren't we supposed to settle this in the tournament, you bastard?"
I took a strong grasp of his hand and squeezed it very hard.
"Oh, it's the Swedish boy. I already know I'm going to win, so I didn't need to wait" He says very cocky, but he's very clearly intimidated by my new build. I push him a little to get him out of the way, He "tch" es me and leaves.

"Hikari!?" Camille says in surprise.
Really? You too? Had I really changed that much!?
Camille runs up to me and hugs me. What? I can feel her bust pushing against me.
"I thought you had died" She says while tearing up
"Well, I'm here aren't I?" I say
"Yeah" She says and stops hugging me to lead me to the rest of the group. It seems as though I have misunderstood our relationship. I don't like to assume things when it comes to this stuff but she's kind of hinting at that she likes me. That's quite the dilemma, well I hope that it's just my naivete. I have a thought process when it comes to social situations and love-related stuff. I have 3 "parties" in my head that each one has an opinion on the situation.
The pessimistic party: Camille's trying to use you in some way/ She has an ulterior motive.
The neutral party: Camille's just trying to be friendly/ She is trying to be a good friend. The optimistic party: Camille's trying to get closer to you / She has a crush on you.
I usually side with the neutral party because their opinions are the most reasonable.
I follow Camille to get to the other guys.
"Hey, guys. Guess what?" Camille says
"What?" Charlotte says
I go inside a room and see everybody in Squad 95, they look rather sad.
"Hikari is still alive!" Camille reveals.
Everybody looks up and glares at me. They all rush towards me in bliss.
"Hikari!" They shout in unison.
There's no way I'd been able to build such relationships with these people to the point that they scream my name in unison when I returned to school. I was really shocked, but happy nonetheless.
"We thought you died." Charlotte says
"Yeah, where were you?" Maxime asks
"I was out training, I thought I told you guys" I say
"You've really changed, I barely recognized you." Juliette said. Was that emotion I heard in her voice?
We continue to catch up on various things. I talked about my adventures in the forest and the scars I got on my leg and my arm. Things were looking pretty good, but the tournament was in a couple of days, Would I be able to defeat Karl and save Camille? Would I even be able to beat Jean-Pierre, whom everybody says is really strong? I was starting to have doubts, But I wasn't about to abandon my friend.

A Fate Set in Stone (On Hold)
After dying and making his way into the afterlife, our protagonist happens to have a stroke of good luck. With the help of the substitute god of death, he's given a second shot at life in a world run by gods who probably played too many video games as kids. Monsters, magic, dungeons, bandits, and all that good stuff is there, except it turns out to be much different than Jed initially expected.(I picked some generic tags since this is my first story and I am not 100% sure where it is going to go. Mature warning is only there for some less-than-polite language.)
