After the shaman left, a great battle began in little Jhon's house.

His mother took the ring away from him, afraid that little Jhon will eat the black wooden ring.

Little Jhon is great warrior, there is no way he will let go of a possible cheat item. Even if he is still small, he can cry loudly while making a pity face.

"Your so cute even when crying, come mom will give you a hug so forget about that dirty ring. We will ask dad for some better toys latter."

Of course our little Jhon won't be defeated by such cheap tactics so he continue crying while trying to make his expression more pitiful and cute.

Yes Jhon know its shameless of him but that's the only weapon he have for now and he knows its very strong.

So, the battle continued until one side finally gave up. As expected when silence return to the house little Jhon can be seen holding a black ring made of wood.

Jhon's mom didn't left his side waiting for him to eat the ring so she can stop little Jhon then take the ring away for good.

Jhon keep looking at ring hoping to find something amazing or magical, but he finds nothing.

After a while both mother and son give up since there is no progress in what they are doing.

Clearly little Jhon has no intention if eating the ring, and the ring looks normal as can be in John's eyes.

When Jhon's dad return, his mom tell him about what happened.

Jhon's dad decided to make a toy for little Jhon, then they can put the ring on the toy like some kind of ornament.

The next day, Jhon keeps walking around the house which surprises his mother. Staggering and slow Jhon keeps taking a step after step.

Based on his understanding from the four year old training of the village, a stronger body is needed for awakening the magic viens of the body.

A wooden sword was presented to little Jhon before the day ends. Its the product of dads whole day of sculpting/carving a piece if wood.

Although Jhon's dad call it a sword, it looks more like a knife since its only 8 inches long, then his dad ask for the wooden ring.

The ring is placed at the end of the handle. A good place for the ring that it looks good and natural, except for the color.

Everyday Jhon can be seen walking and crawling around the house. He also likes to play with his sword hitting whatever he can hit inside the house which make her mother angry.

She make I clear that Jhon can only hit those hard part of the house like column of the house.

'Fine fine, I'm just pretending to be ignorant anyway.' Jhon thought.

2 years pass by fast and now little Jhon can play outside and even invite the kid from next door.

The little kid's name is Mike who has a 8 year old older brother. The elder brother's name is Matt, a magic genius which everyone in the village is proud of.

At the age if eight he has already mana equal to the lowest level mages. Lowest level of a mage is rank 1, or apprentice mage. With high affinity of fire, elder brother Matt is only lacking in technique and mana control and he can be considered as a rank 1 mage.

"Techniques" refer to fireball and other spells that a mage casts.

They needed books called "Tome" to be learned, or if you have a teacher then no need for books.

Although Matt can make fire in his hands, he can only make it fly slowly and don't even reach 1 meter away from him before dissipating.

Unfortunately, no such tomes can be found in there village.

Such treasures can only be found in cities, or rather on the magic school.

While the city delegate comes every year for the awakening of 5 years old kids, they only took talented kids once every two years, and they only take those 8 years old to 10.

They took those talented kids to magic school or warrior school to study for free.

So those who awaken their magic viens need to train in the village until they age 8 then try can take the assessment of the delegates. If that fail they can still take the assessment two years later when they are 10.

Its the same for those who want to study in warrior school.

While all those who want to became mages have mana, those that walk the warriors way is divided by those who have mana and those that have none.

It is said that the warriors don't need mana in there early ranks, but the later ranks needed mana so those who have none stop at thus bottlenecks.

Its another warm morning in Greenleaf village. But today is an exiting day for little Jhon, after all his father will finally take him to the training ground.

After slots of pestering, nagging, annoying and whatever he can do, he managed to make dad promise him to take him to the kids morning training.

On the condition that dad will take him after his third birthday.

Now Jhon is already three years old and the promised day.

Its a given that little Jhon is stronger than an average three year old kid, he has his daily training after all.

He just make sure not to push his body to the limits, he don't have shaman's medicine so straining his body is bad for his growth. Still that limit he's avoiding keeps expanding during his daily training.

He can now do fifty push ups without failing any soreness in his arms. Of course he hide his training from other people and only shows some of it to his friend Mike.

Only the running around the village cannot be hidden but the folks around only thought Jhon is an energetic kid.

The most disappointing for Jhon is the ring given to him by the shammy granny.

He always carry with him he wooden sword and ring, even put it beside him on his sleep.

But he didn't discover anything magical about it. He once even dropped his blood on the ring but nothing happened.

He has some thought of visiting the shaman one if these days, just waiting for a reason or excuse then he will surely ask the shaman about his black ring.

Anyway that will come sooner or later for he will now attend the morning training with his father.

Today is the first day for the four years old kids to attend that training and Jhon is only three but as long as his father accompanied him then he us welcome to join or so the village chief says.

Tucked in his short, is the wooden sword he always carry. He's already waiting in front if their house for his dad who finally came out smiling.

"I'm still sleepy, can we do this another day?"

Jhon just showed his sad face and dad already apologize, saying he's just joking.
