The village training ground, is a large space of flat land. The adults cleared all the grass in this area so its muddy when it rains. Good thing its currently summer.
Four little kids can be seen sitting in front of an old man, while the adults who accompanied the kids is talking among themselves under a shade of a tree a few meters away.
The old man is the chief of Greenleaf village, he looks around 50 years old, a short beard can be seen in his calm face. Overall he look like a normal old man who witnessed the trials of time.
Of course everyone knows that this old man is the only rank three warrior in the village.
His wife already passed away, and his only son is working at the city.
Among the four kids, one of them is clearly younger than the others. Little Jhon is only three years old after all.
The village chief tell them about magic, ranks and other stuff like...
The territory the belong is called Hundred Islands.
It has dozens if scattered big islands and hundreds of smaller ones.
The Greenleaf village is located on one if the bigger island called Onehorn island.
There are 13 villages on Onehorn island but no town or cities.
The nearest city is the Lett city which is located on Lett island.
These Lett island can be considered as a small island, the whole city occupied the island.
Almost all who lives in hundred island territory came from western continent, the reason why almost everyone has black hair and black eyes.
There is also no government that ruled the islands.
Each city has its own leader, mostly called city mayor.
The biggest power and influence is held by private organizations.
For example is the Lett magic and warrior school, they are created by Magic union, Hunter association and Church of Light.

The city delegate that visit Greenleaf village annually also come from mages union.
Mages and warriors are called "cultivators" based on western system.
The western continent called them "cultivators", the Eastern continent called them " chosen ones" while the Beast continent called them "awakened."
Regarding ranks, village chief explain that both warriors and mages rank 1 to 9.
Rank 1 to 3 are lower tier, 4 to 6 are middle tier the high tier are for rank 7 to 9.
Each rank also divided by low, mid and peak rank. For example when a mage became rank 1, he/she will be lower rank 1 mage.
Some children ask questions which the strongest in the whole Onehorn island, and the chief tell them its a magical beast that lived in the forest.
All hunters stay away from that magic beast territory.
Beasts also has their own ranks, the rank 1 to 3 are called simply Beasts, while rank 4 to 6 are called magical beasts, 7 to 9 are legendary beasts.
Note that a rank1 beast easily defeat a rank 1 warrior or mage.
To defeat a rank 1 beast they needed a team of rank 1 warriors. Of course a single rank 2 warrior can defeat a rank 1 beast.
Another child asks which is stronger between a mage and a warrior.
According to village chief, on rank1 and 2 the warrior has great advantage, rank 3 the mage will lessen the gap but it still favors the warrior.
Rank 4 and above, the mages ruled supreme.
The reason for this is that lower rank mages need to cast their skill first and when casting while an enemy is charging at you can make you easily lose focus.
Another is that lower rank mages has only one or two spells, if they focus on attack, a warrior just need to close the gap then its game over.

Lower ranks spells cause small damage that warriors just need to protect their eyes and there body can take many spells.
Rank 4 mages are different, they already have a "magic core", which can saved a spell of there choice. The spell in the core can be cast instantly, they only required mana and a core can have more than one spell saved.
"Of course all these are just advantage, some children are born with more talent than others so its possible for a rank 1 mage to defeat a warrior, thu it rarely happens such people exist."
Jhon want to ask what will happen after graduating from warrior or magic school, but he is currently a three year old kid so he just wait for the topic to get there or for someone to ask in his place.
Unfortunately, no such thing happen until the end of class, so Jhon need to wait a little more.
After more than an hour of talking, the chief finally finished his lessons.
Chief: Tomorrow the older kids will be here, you four can train with by then.
One child ask why the older kids are not here, and the chief told them that other kids have a day off cause "you four will lose focus if you see them running around while I'm talking."
'Makes sense, this must be from personal experience.' Thought Jhon.
The parents took their children home after the chief dismiss the class as the sun is already up heating the whole place like declaring its existence.
'I wonder how much the other kids learned from that? They are four years old after all.'
When they reach home, Jhon's dad ask if he learned anything.
Jhon: Yes I learned that rank 1 and 2 are just beginners. I will be rank 9 when I grow up!
Dad: Hahaha dad will be waiting for that day. Come let's tell mom that our rank 9 mage son is here.

The Spark
Michael Locke was a normal student, who went through his normal day in a normal fashion, until the day became... unnatural. Shot into the country of Aldemar and thrust into a new world alongside his many classmates, he agrees to work for the king in exchange for shelter and to learn magic. Fate however, is indifferent to his wishes, as he quickly realizes that he may be a hero, but his purpose in this world is quite opposite. Suddenly surrounded on every side, Michael must work to survive, and if anyone finds his secret... He's as good as dead. The Spark is meant to be a murder mystery style isekai, focused on the existence of basically an anti-hero, with every one of the large amount of heroes attempting to discover who the traitor is. This isn't made to be a lovey dovey easy going isekai with an OP mc, it's made to stir around an emotional story, with many dark tones. Still, the goal is to stay fairly light hearted as well, and the perspective will pass around to several characters throughout the story.
