《Questline: Our Second Chance In Another World》Chapter 6: Tutorial

After everyone figured out what their combat roles would be Brandon continued to talk about how they would handle combat. Everyone listened to him intently, and Brandon started to get the feeling that the others were starting to look at his as this groups leader, at least for now.
Then suddenly everyone received a notification. Quest Complete:
Learn more about this world. Reward 10 EXP. 15/100 EXP. Main Quest Learn more about this world.
Everyone looked at one another, but nobody had an answer.
“What the hell is that!?” Felix shouted angrily because of the fact that the same quest appeared that they had supposedly just completed.
“That doesn't make any sense.” Tenjin said while putting his pointer finger to his chin in a thinking pose. “How did we complete the quest in the first place, and why did the same one pop up again?”
This time Trinity didn't wait for Brandon to ask her a question. "That's a good question. From what I know about the main quest is that there are several different ways to complete it, and it's usually the same unless unforeseen circumstances change it."
"Unforeseen circumstances." Ava interjected. "Like what?"
"Well, that's not completely clear." Trinity admitted. "The requirements for something to change the main quest are for an event to occur that can have drastic consequences to the state of the world, or the life of the individual person. If an event like that hasn't happened, then the main quest will continue to be to learn about the world."
"Maybe there's a personal component to it." Brandon theorized. "All of us are curious about this world, so maybe that's why it's defaulting to that. If something significant were to happen to one of us, or our focus shifted to something else the main quest would change. And maybe the reason we completed the quest initially is because we all satisfied some curiosity we all had about this world."
"That's actually not a bad theory." Trinity responded. She was a little impressed with her new master. He seemed a lot smarter and more perceptive than most. That's probably why the others were so quickly to start following him. "I know that's not the whole story behind how main quests are decided on, but it is definitely part of the requirement for a main quest."
"Or maybe that administrator guys is just a lazy idiot, and is just making this all up on the fly." Felix suggested while putting his hands behind his head.
Everyone couldn't help but laugh at the possibility. After all, it did seem like the Administrator was making a lot of sudden changes.
"Anyways, it isn't really important right now, and before we can get started with any kind of combat, or even think about exploring to far we should get familiar with how our abilities and weapons work." Brandon insisted. Nobody objected, so he continued on. "Trinity, is there any kind of tutorial we can take that will teach us how to use our weapons and abilities."

Trinity's eyes immediately lit up, and she began to giggle just a little bit. "I'm so glad you asked Brandon!" She said with more enthusiasm than they had seen previously. "Let me take you all to Trinity's training tutorial!"
Suddenly everything around them turned white, and it felt like they were being transported somewhere. When the light faded away they were standing in the middle of what looked like a massive training field in the middle of the forest. There were training dummies, archery targets, an obstacle course, and even a small fighting ring.
"Wow Trinity, this is amazing!" Brandon was looking around with his mouth wide open.
He and the others continued to admire everything that had just appeared before when Trinity began to speak. "I just teleported you guys to a private training area create solely for the tutorial quest. You should all get the alert soon."
Right after she had said that everyone received another alert from the system. Side Quest: Complete Trinity's combat tutorial.
Trinity directed them to the target range where she explained to them how to use long range abilities. Cass's bow was pretty easy. Just like in real life she just had to aim her bow, pull back the string, and release.
"It's the same for pretty much any weapons, or item. You use it just like you would in the real world." Trinity explained. "However, your abilities are a different story. If you want to cast a spell, or use and ability you will need to call out it's name, and visualize it in your head. The point of the visualization and name is to help you establish your intent on using it."
"Just like with the character menu; it's all about what you are intending to do. As long as you intend to use a spell or ability it will activate, but saying it out loud and thinking about it will make it easier when you're in a stressful situation."
Brandon didn't have any long range weapons or abilities, so he decided to go over to the training dummies and take a few practice swings.
"Hold up Brandon I'll go with you." Brandon turned around and saw Tenjin walking over towards him. "I don't have any ranged abilities either, and I practiced kendo so I can give you pointers on how to swing your sword."
"Oh, thanks Tenjin. I wonder why you didn't get a sword?" Brandon responded. He was thinking that it was weird that someone who knew how to use a sword didn't get one, but it would be nice to have someone who knew what they were doing teach him. Brandon has never swung a sword before, and he doesn't have any combat experience.

While Brandon and Tenjin were over by the training dummies the others were being instructed by Trinity on how to use their abilities.
"Okay now remember to visualize, and if you're still having trouble call out the name of the ability you want to use." Trinity instructed. She hovered just above the heads, and despite her small size she looked and behave like a competent teaching to everyone's surprise.
Ava took a step forward towards the target. She held out her hand, and closed her eyes while she slowly inhaled and exhaled. After inhaling and exhaling three times she finally began. "Vine whip!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, and suddenly a long vine appeared in her hand. She had expected it to lash out at the target, but nothing happened. Then, just as soon as it had appeared it disappeared just as quickly. "What, what happened!?"
"Uhm with some spells there's a somatic component as well." Trinity explained." You should move your arm, and flick your wrist just like you are actually using a whip for this one. Oh and try to trigger it faster this time. You won't have a lot of time in a fight to activate it, so you should practice triggering it quickly!"
Ava tried it again, and this time it worked just as she had intended it. "Yes, I got it." She shouted with enthusiasm as she threw both of her hands in the air to celebrate her new triumph.
Next, Cass walked forward. She removed an arrow from her quiver, and set it on her bow. Just like her father had taught her she drew back the string, took a deep breathe, and let it go on the exhale. The first one hit dead center, then she repeated this three more times in quick succession and hit within millimeters of the center each time.
She didn't say anything, or give any indication of celebrated like Ava did, but this wasn't unexpected for her. She had done training like this several times.
"Wow that was awesome Cass." Felix exclaimed in amazement. "But watch this!" Felix was getting excited watching the others show off their abilities, and he couldn't hold in his excitement any longer. He took a step forward, held out his right hand, took a deep breathe, and shouted "Hellfire!!!"
A dark crimson flame formed in Felix's hand. It shot out with rapid speed, and hit the target completely enveloping it in flames in an instant. "So girls, what do you think of my skills?" Felix placed his hands behind his head, and stood there with a smirk on his face as if he was waiting to be showered with complements.
Unfortunately for him, the two girls just looked at each other, made an awkward laugh, and then continued to practice.
While the others were doing target practice Tenjin was showing Brandon a few basic forms, and he was practicing on one of the training dummies.
"That's good Brandon, just make sure you relax your shoulders a little bit more." Tenjin was pacing back and forth as he watched Brandon practicing the forms he taught him.
Trinity was watching them the both of them from the archery range, and decided it was time to change things up. "Okay, it looks like you guys have a handle on your abilities. Now let's try something a bit more realistic."
Trinity took the three of them over towards the fighting ring while Brandon and Tenjin continued practicing. "Now, who wants to go first?"
Felix stepped up to the plate. He was incredible eager to show off everything he was capable of. "I'll go first!" He said with the same grin on his face he had when he was showing off his magic. "I am the one here who has the most combat experience after all!"
"Didn't you die in your first battle?" Cass reminded him. "Bragging while being nothing but cannon fodder seems a bit overconfident."
"Well, I..." Felix tried to think of a comeback, but nothing came to mind so he just had to bite his tongue.
"Okay Felix, step into the ring." Trinity pointed her finger towards the ring and Felix walking into it, and stood there for a second waiting for something to happen.
"I'll show you whose cannon fodder!" Felix thought to himself as he stepped into the ring.
A brief moment after Felix entered a light flashed, and a small, green, humanoid like creature appeared. The three at the ring never played any video games before, or had seen anything that resembled this creature, but Tenjin and Brandon recognized it right away when they turned their heads to see what's going on and saw the creature.
There was no mistaking it; that small green body, the deep green eyes, the long green ears, and long green nose as well. They were looking at an actual goblin.
