"Alright, this dude doesn't look very strong! Watch me take this thing out in one blow!” Felix cracked both his knuckles, and suddenly his arms swelled up in size while turning a beep red color. The veins on his arms were black, and he had claws coming out of his fingers.

Felix could see a status bar above the creature with its level, the name of the creature, and a health bar. Right above the creatures head it said;

HP: 25

When Felix wanted to look at its stats a drop-down screen appeared below the goblin's status bar showing its stats.

Strength 5

Constitution 5

Agility 12

Stamina 5

MP 25

"Those are some pretty low stats!" Felix shouted confidently as he lunged toward the goblin. Felix used his right hand and made a fist. He struck the goblin as hard as he could, and managed to connect. Thanks to his demon arms Felix received +5 strength for a full minute, so his total strength was 16 right now.

After he struck the goblin it's HP went down to 4. "Ah come on! I was so close too!" Felix had expected to take it out in one shot, but to his surprise it was still standing, and it was able to get a good swipe at him with a dagger.

Felix's HP went down to 43/50. Not as much damage as he had done to the goblin, but he was still angry. 'Okay, now you're really going to get it!" Felix struck it one more time with full force, and the goblin's HP went down to zero.

After he defeated the goblin its body disappeared, and he stepped out of the ring. Afterwards Cass decided to step into the ring, but not before she got her quips in. "So, one shot huh. I guess counting isn't really your strong suit soldier boy."

"Hey, I, it's the systems fault! It's bugged, or something!" Felix retorted.

Cass just walked on by him with a big grin on her face. She decided not to use Cillian because she didn't want to become too reliant on him for fighting. Cillian whimpered when she told him to stay, and just laid down on the ground while his master stepped into the ring.

The same creature appeared before her, and she quickly drew her bow. The bow she had gave her strength +3, so when using it her strength was 14. Cass hit the goblin center mass, and it's HP dropped to 6/25.

The goblin stepped back for a second after getting hit, and began charging at her, but before it could close the distance between them she had already shot of the next arrow, and it went straight through its head.

Just like during target practice Cass step out of the ring without uttering a word. She went over to Cillian and gave him a little pat on the head, and he stood up while sticking his tongue out and panting happily.

Next, it was Ava's turn to face the little green monster. Ava was a lot more nervous than the other two. Those two were a lot more used to violence then she was. She worked at a library while Felix was a soldier and Cass was a hunter. However, she knew she didn't have a choice. If she was going to survive in this world she was going to have to learn how to fight, and potentially take a life if necessary.

"Don't worry Ave, you got it!" Felix shouted. "It's really weak, so you'll be fine!"

The goblin appeared in front of her, and right away she flicked her wrist and uttered the words "vine whip". The vines made a cracking sound when it made contact with the goblin. Her magic was 11, but the spell added +2 to the damage, so the goblins HP went down to 7/25. Not only did the goblins HP drop, but Ava's MP also dropped by 5 points.

Even such a weak spell took away a fifth of her MP. A prolonged fight would be tough, but if she kept using MP but within a second after she cast the spell her MP points went up again from 45 to 46. It appears that she could recover MP after a certain amount of time.

While Ava was looking at her MP the goblin started charging at her. In a panic Ava waved her hand and cast the gust spell. It managed to stop the goblin in its tracks just long enough for her to cast the vine whip spell and finish off the goblin.

"Looks like you guys did just fine, all though Ava was panicking there for a sec." Trinity stated while she put her hands on her hips. "Now you two, get over here. It's your turn."

Brandon and Tenjin turned their heads and saw Trinity gesturing to them to step up to the ring. They both began walking over, and Brandon let Tenjin go first. He wanted to see an experienced melee fighter go first before he stepped up.

Tenjin stepped into the ring and assumed a fighting stance with his hammer in his right hand, and a shield in his left. The goblin appeared, and he waited for it to charge before making his first strike.

Tenjin had 10 strength and his hammer gave him +3 for a total of 13. When he hit the goblin it's HP went down to 7, and it struck him back. Tenjin had 11 constitution, and his shield and armor together gave him +5 for a total of 16. The goblin only managed to do 1 damage to him.

Everyone expected Tenjin to just strike the goblin and be done with it, but he had other plans. When he was looking at his abilities Tenjin saw something interesting. Under his magic/abilities tab there was a category label angelic aspect. When he had looked at it the word "Angel Wing’s" appeared below the category, so he had been hoping to try it out.

After getting hit by the goblin Tenjin took a step back, and suddenly a pair of large white feathered wings grew out of his back. Everyone took a step back in aww. They knew he was supposedly part angel, but they hadn't actually expected this.

Tenjin flew up only a couple feet in the air staying within range of the goblin, and let it take a few strikes at him as he hover above the ground. His angel wings only lasted for a minute, but when they were active he gain +5 agility giving him a total of 15.

The goblin was incredibly slow compared to Tenjin, and it made it easy for him to predict its moves. After about 30 seconds of avoiding attacks Tenjin finally made the finishing blow, and the goblin fell to the ground and disappeared.

Tenjin deactivated his wings, and walked out of the ring, then he looked at Brandon. "Alright, your turn. Show us what you've got!"

Finally, it was Brandon's turn to step into the ring. He had hoped to learn a few things from Tenjin's fight, but despite Tenjin toying with the goblin it was still a short fight.

Brandon slowly walking into the ring. He was a little nervous because he had never been in a fight before. Actually, he didn't have much experience walking either since he was in a wheel chair his entire life prior to coming to this world. He was a little afraid he'd trip over his feet during the fight, and he instinctively looked back at his new companions.

At that moment Trinity cupped her hands and shouted, "Don't worry, you've got this!" He could see a big affirming smile on her face, and he turned to the rest of the group as well. All five of them gave him a little affirming smile, and he actually saw Ava tuck her hair behind her ear when he made eye contact with her. He looked at her and shyly waved, then he immediately looked at Tenjin who was giving him a stern look.

"Brandon get your head in the game!" Tenjin shouted. "Just because your opponent is weak doesn't mean you shouldn't take it seriously. Remember this is not a game; you can die here!"

The second he heard Tenjin say those words Brandon immediately began to re-orient himself. He got into the fighting stance that Tenjin has shown him. He stepped back with his right foot, and pulled his right arm back at the same time. He brought his shield forward, and made she it was completely covering his torso, and his sword was at the ready.

The top of his sword was pointing in front of him at a slight upward angle like he was getting ready to drive it through the enemy. He hid most of his face behind his shield as well, so only everything above the lower half of his nose was unprotected along with his shins when her crouched down just slightly.

The goblin appeared right in front of him like it did for everyone else, and just like Tenjin he waited for the goblin to make the first move.

As expected, the goblin came charging forward at Brandon. Brandon stood his ground patiently waiting for it to come into range. As it approached, the goblin lifted its club above its head and swung down, but Brandin was prepared.

He blocked the club with his shield, and avoided taking any damage. He followed this up by using his shield to push away the goblins fighting arm to create and opening. He was able to stagger it just long enough to drive his sword forward into its chest.

It was a strange feeling for him. None of the others had to actually drive their weapons into the enemy. Ava, Cass, and even Felix had the option of attacking from a distance, and Felix and Tenjin mostly bludgeoned their enemies. There wasn't as much blood that way, but Brandon felt it pouring out of the enemies body when he drove his sword through his chest.

With his first attack being successful Brandon pulled his sword out of the goblin, took three steps back, and returned to the same fighting stance he had started with. Brandon hadn't spent his extra stat points yet, so all of his stats were still at 10. However, thanks to the weapons, and armor his strength and constitution received a little boost. His strength was currently at 13 thanks to the sword, and the goblin was left with 7/25 HP.

Brandon decided not to go directly in for the kill. Instead, he wanted to get a little more practice blocking and parrying attacks. The goblin swing it's club at him again, and just like last time Brandon managed to block it. This time, when he pushed it away with his shield he decided to try something; he used his shield to shove the goblin backwards, and while it was off balance he took the front of it and hit the goblin with it.

Since he wasn't attacking with his sword he didn't get the benefit of the +3 strength, but to his surprise he managed to damage the goblin.

It's HP went down to 2/25, and it began to snarl at him. The goblin leaped forward at Brandon, and he decided to finish it off. Just like before he blocked the goblins attack with his shield and knocked it away, but instead of stabbing it Brandon lifted his sword arm.

With his hand now just above his head Brandon swung his sword towards the goblin at a diagonal angle. His sword cut down and hit the goblins left shoulder; Brandon felt a little resistance now, but he continued to cut through the goblin.

He could feel the resistance as he continued to slash, and his sword finally exited through the goblins lower stomach. He had essentially cut the thing in half, and then, just as expected, it disappeared.

Even though the goblin had disappeared Brandon's heart was still beating fast, and he continued to breathe heavily. It took him a second to collect himself, but once he did he stood up straight, sheathed his sword, and turned towards his companions.

They all just stained at him for a moment. They could tell that there was something different about Brandon after that experience. Even though he hadn't actually killed a living thing it still felt like he did.

Ava didn't know exactly what was going on, but the others did. The rest of them knew what it was like to take the life of a living thing.

Felix took lives as a soldier during his one battle, Cass was a hunter and even though she never hunted humans she still killed a living thing, and Tenjin, even though he was still in training, had taken the life of an assailant before he died.

They could all tell the experience shook him a bit. Ava tried to be supportive, and placed her hand on his shoulder as he walked over to them.

"Hey Brandon." She asked with a worried look on her face. "Are you alright?"

He made eye contact with her, and she was a little taken back when she saw the stern look in his eyes. He looked over at the others, and they each gave him a nod. He could tell by the somber expressions on there faces, and the serious look in their eyes they all knew exactly how he was feeling.

He turned back to look at Ava, and managed to crack a little smile. "Don't worry, I'm alright." He stated trying to ease her worry. "I'm just a little shaken, but I'll be alright."

Ava was looking directly into his eyes. They looked just a little bit colder to her then they had before, but she could still see there was warmth behind them. If anything, she could tell he was more confident and determined then before.

She continued to hold his gaze for a few seconds longer, and began to get a little flushed. She shyly turned her head away, took her hand off his shoulder, and began biting her nails. Oh uhm, good job, she said in a shy and quiet tone.

Brandon put his hand on her shoulder, and he could feel Ava tense up. "Thanks." He said in a melancholic fashion. He then removed his had from her shoulder, and walked towards the rest of the group.

Tenjin looked at Brandon and gave him an affirmative smile. "You did good!" He stated.

"Yeah man I can tell you've got a lot of fighting potential." Felix interjected.

Cass then approached him, and whispered into his ear. "And you're a really lady killer on top of that too!"

Brandon took a step back, and looked at Cass for a second. She winked at him, and then looked over at Ava. He could see a mischievous grin on Cass's face, and it was hard for him to tell if she was flirting with him, or telling him to go for Ava.

That's when Trinity decided to interrupt. "Okay, good job everyone! Well that concluded the tutorial! Congratulations!"

Once she said that they all saw the same bright light envelop them that they saw before they came here, and they were returned to the area they had started in.

Once they all returned the entire group received the same notification. Quest Complete: Reward: 10 EXP. 25/100
