Day 45

Part 1

They advanced carefully, they did not know precisely where the territory of those apes would begin, but they were definitely close. The rot in the air and the dense forest gave the impression of being more and more interested in the interior of a terrible swamp. As they advanced, many goblins looked at their new equipment. They were excited to return the treatment they had received from the apes, but Blossom seemed restless. As she advanced, she looked deeply at the foliage, trying to anticipate the movements of a possible invisible enemy.

“Remind me again why are we doing this?” A goblin who loved music asked casually.

Blossom came out of her reverie and, with a smile, replied, “Because Dracul asked us to distract the Apes while he pulverized them from the rear, and that exactly is what we will do. Plus, you love killing apes, Jazz.”

That answer didn’t convince the goblin. Thus, he raised his mutilation rifle high before he said, “I understand that! And trust me, I’m grateful, but isn’t there a better way to do it?”

Blossom looked at him with a sympathetic look. She also understood that this was a bit reckless, but sticking to her creed, and she said, “Lord Dracul, named us... We owe it to him, plus he will finish off Gaul before we get into too much trouble! And I absolutely want to punch Gaul’s minions to death.”

At that moment and with force, Crash, Blossom’s brother, yelled at the top of his lungs.

“Look out!”

A thin and firm ape appeared from one of the nearby trees, leaping from branch to branch to escape the squad of goblins that was entering the swamp worse Crash did not think to let him escape.

The ape moved with extreme agility and speed, but Crash was not impressed by those movements. Using his powers, he lit one of his hands on fire and calculated the next step, but all of his weight was on his front leg and threw one powerful fireball.

This was not going in the direction of the ape, and this was going in the direction of the next tree that the ape would undoubtedly take as a way to escape. When the ball hit the tree, it was instantly charred, and the ape had nowhere to hold on and was forced to fall to the ground.

His agility was present when turning on his back. He prepared to advance again, but before he could begin his subsequent escape, another fireball hit his leg, leaving a visual burn that made the ape cry out in pain.

Crash arrived where the ape was. This burned with force was breathing with difficulty when seeing the goblin; a face full of anger made him roar. Far from intimidating Crash, this made him angry.

While trying to keep his composure, he said, “I am very sorry for your injury, but it is part of the war. Now you will tell me what I need to know!... Oh, who the hell am I kidding. Tell me, or I will start smashin’!”

In a few seconds, Blossom appears. She reached the short clearing where her brother was staring at the sore ape.

When she got there, she said, “What’s wrong with you Crash, you can’t start running through the swamp-like that. We don’t know where the enemy is!”

“I understand your concern, sister, but everything went well. I catch this guy!” Crash said as he showed his prey triumphantly.

Blossom stopped a bit. Upon seeing the depth of the forest, she did not doubt the capabilities of her brother, but in that instant and following her instinct, she grew several roots to serve as cover.

When Crash saw this, he got confused, “What are you doing, Blo―”

But before he could finish his sentence, a hail of fierce bullets began to fall on them. The branches that Blossom had raised served as a cover, and the two goblins quickly hid as shots flew in their direction.

“See what you get, Crash?”

Crash was smiling and looking at his sister. He said, “Well, at least we found them!”

The ape on the ground managed to stand up to escape but barely left the cover. He received a huge amount of shots in the face that knocked him to the ground completely dead. Blossom looked at that, and for a second, she felt compassion for him but remembered the way the apes treated them in captivity.

“Crash! Let fire rain on those bastards!” Blossom yelled.

Crash smiled and, raising his hands, shouted with such force that his arm ignited in flames and fired continuous fireballs both felt like the frequency of attacks of the apes dropped.

Screams of pain began to sound in their lines when a thick voice from the other side of the grove said, “Attack!!”

But as if the order had been given to the other side behind the goblins, a lot of shots began to sound in response to the attack of the Apes. Blossom watched as 4jass and the rest rushed forward to help them.

“Looks like you need a hand, boss!” The goblin smilingly said.

Blossom stood up and stepped into the role of leader and determinedly said, “Groups of two, concentrate the fire in the centre. Let’s take the clearing!”

The goblins listened to her orders and, with a frenzy full of admiration, began to shout and obey the young lady’s orders. The apes were far from being defeated.

Using their skills, they mounted on the treetops to shoot from better angles, and when Crash saw this, he began to attack them. A huge chimpanzee leapt from tree to tree, shooting with a fearsome aim.

Every time he pressed the trigger, a goblin was hurt. He jumped from branch to branch, and Blossom looking at him, felt a fit of strong anger and, putting her hand in the ground, used her flora power to control the tree where that maniac primate was trying to land, the branch where the chimpanzee planned to land, moved like possessed giving him a strong blow that threw him to the ground.

The ape did not understand what had happened when a sword flew in his direction and embedded itself in his skull before flying backward and landing in a Tollroad’s hands.

“Well!! Chief, I’ll take the lead!” The Tollroad said. He was clearly ready to charge against the enemies when a huge explosion fell in front of them. The explosion did not give a truce.

Blossom looked to the side where the apes were understood that they were using precision mortars to try to explode them.

“Shields!!” Warpath shouted. He was the soul of the army, and his small squad followed him with admiration.

All of them raised their plasma shields to stop the explosions, but these were strong, and in a matter of seconds, they would cross the defences, understanding Blossom got up and prepared to act.

However, a sniper Ape saw his chance by aiming at the leader’s head and fired only to see Warpath protect her with his own shield, and the goblins shared a smile.

“It’s time to get ahead!!” Blossom roared.

Embedding her hands in the ground, she activated her power. She was aware that using that amount of magic would exhaust her, but if it worked, it would give her squad the momentum they needed to advance.

With force, she activated her power, and her arms began to glow. A firm line came out of it to the other side of the grove, causing a huge amount of flowers to create a direct path to the enemies. The apes looked at the flowers when they reached them.

“Do you like how they look? Wait till you see this!” Blossom said with a cold smile.

At that moment, the flowers where the apes were, bloomed and from their nucleus, an enormous quantity of spores appeared.

The spores flew all over the place, infecting the apes and giving them hallucinations that led them to start shooting at each other, seeing that Blossom winked at his brother, who, smiling, lit his arms on fire when he screamed.

“Charge!!”

All the goblins came out of their hiding place, their fire intensifying as they advanced to engage in combat with the Apes. The latter, confused, saw a green tide approaching them recklessly.

The shots were going in all directions as both groups collapsed with force, and the Apes felt the power and determination of the goblins.

A huge gorilla that seemed to be the leader of that group looked at its communications manager and said, “Tell Gaul we need reinforcements now!!”

The gorilla, after giving the order, took a huge mass and went into combat. The ape began to hit goblins with so much power that they flew out seriously injured, and he watched as a goblin with two swords passed, cutting and eliminating apes to the right and left and jumping with force. He tried to step on it with the mass.

The asked noticed and rolling onto his back evaded him to see him with a smile and asked, “So you want to fight me?”

The ape roared, and the goblin flashing his bracelets, said, “Yes, I also like my swords!”

A Tollroad swung his swords efficiently while narrowly avoiding the blows of that huge gorilla.

Evading and cutting him was difficult due to his thick armour, and with speed, he jumped back to launch a sword that was embedded in the gorilla’s eye, this pain recoiled, and Tollroad saw the opportunity to kill him.

Jumping on him, he prepared to stab him when the gorilla tightened his arms around a goblin.

He felt the power of the ape, and grabbing his sword did not have enough space to generate the necessary force to pierce the gorilla’s skin, so gritting his teeth, he threw the sword back and used the attraction technology, he attracted it again, but without catching it.

He took his head out of the way so that the sword would immerse himself fully in the gorilla’s skull and kill him instantly.

Exhausted, a Tollroad was laughing at his victory when Blossom began to heal him and look at him with a smile.

The goblins were gaining ground when suddenly a roar changed the situation, and something was approaching through the air.
