Chapter 7

After bring home the bacon we decided to rest for the night, taking turns on watch. The next day I scouted the rest of the dungeon while Johanna preserved the bacon.

The skill I obtained was very helpful in scouting out the dungeon. I found that there were 5 different monster types in the dungeon: goblins, orcs, Minotaurs, lizardmen, ents, of course we had already killed all the hobgoblins so these were the species that were left. I also found three groups of 2-4 people, although I didn't talk to them. After searching for a bit I decided to fight some goblins. After quickly assassinating their leader I turned invisible burned the rest with fire. I gained 2 levels and a cloak of the illusionist. I put all the points I gained (20) to dex although it wasn't enough to get to 50.

"Time to get back to base" jack

After traveling for about ten minutes I arrived back at base.

"Give me the bacon" jack

"What took you so long?" Johanna

'Welcome back master' ghost

"I took a detour" jack

As I started eating some orc, ghost came over to me and laid her head on my lap.

'Hey master' ghost

'Yes?' jack

'Is it alright if I chose my own evolution next time?' ghost

'Of course you can. Why do you ask?' jack

'It’s a secret' ghost

Johanna comes over and sits next to ghost petting her fur (making sure to go the right way)

"Planning for the next extermination time" Johanna

"Alright, alright" jack

"First off what types of monsters are out there?" Johanna

"Goblins, orcs, Minotaur, lizardmen, and ents although I already exterminated the goblins" jack

"So that’s what you meant by detour" Johanna

"I found what I think to be the spawn points of all of them except the orcs" jack

"So what do you recommend?" Johanna

"I recommend attacking the ents" jack

'Why?' ghost

"Cause we're running out of fire wood" jack

After eating the three of them started along the path jack took to get to the ents. Along the way they came across a group of two whom jack hadn’t seen before.

"Hey you two!" Johanna

"Hmm”??? #1 and 2

As they walked over to us they suddenly attacked our hobgoblin who just sidestepped out of the way.

"What do you think you’re doing to my pet?" jack

"Pet?”???1

“I have the skill monster tamer" jack

"That would explain that demon and wolf standing behind you”???2

"hobgoblin" jack

As he looked at them he saw their names and their levels floating above their heads, Philip level 9 and Joe level 9.

"Ah, right we forgot to introduce ourselves, I am Joe and this fatty is Philip" (Joe)

"Ah I’ve herd of you, football star for the senior team right?" jack

"That’s right. But who are you?" Philip

"Names jack" jack

"Where are you heading?" Joe

"Why?" jack

"Cause you look like someone with somewhere to go" Philip

"Well if you really must know we're heading over to the ents." Johanna

"Why?" Philip

"To grind up our level and get some firewood" jack

"Level?" Joe & Philip

"You don't know about the system?" jack

"What’s that?" Philip

"Think status" jack

A look of surprise flashes on Joe’s and Philip’s faces, quickly followed by a look of curiosity.

"So I’m level 9" Joe

"Same" Philip

"I wouldn't brag if I were you. I’m lv 15" jack

A look of admiration suddenly sprung up on Joe’s and Philip’s faces.

"Hey why don't we help you kill those ents" Joe

"Yeah I want to raise my level" Philip

"We won’t ask for anything just let us help you kill them" Joe

"It’s dangerous you could get killed any minute in their" jack

"I know we've been serving in here for the couple days after all" Philip

"Do you have weapons?" jack

"Course we do" Joe

He pulls out a small hatchet while Philip starts flexing his muscles.

"Alright then you can come with us" jack

'Form party' jack

congratulations! You have formed a party!

Who would you like to invite?

'Joe & Philip' jack

"That’s.....useful" Joe

The two had an inquisitive look on their faces.

Oh I forgot to mention it but earlier I tried to add ghost and Johanna I got a system message.

Error: you cannot form a party with your own pets/slaves as they count as being part of you for part purposes

"Alright let’s go!" Johanna

After walking for a couple minutes we arrived at the ent's spawn point.

"Damn it" jack

"What’s the problem?" Joe

"Their resistant against piercing attacks, so I can’t use my assassinate effectively." jack

"Then why don’t you use your fire magic" Johanna

"Fire magic?" Joe & Phillip

"Yeah, magic is part of the system" jack

"Now that you mention it I did see a bar that had mana on it." Joe

After we decided that I would use magic to fight, I used observe to determine the enemy strength.

6 elders

3 wives

1 leader

For a total of 22 ents. All of them had resistance against bludgeoning and piercing. But, the leader and the wives had resistance against slashing and had magic resistance, the elders had weakness to fire, and the saplings were weak against slashing.

"Alright Joe since you use a hatchet take out the saplings since they are weak against slashing damage." jack

"Understood" Joe

"Ghost you tank the ENT’s attacks, make as pissed at you as possible" jack

'Alright!' ghost

Both Joe and Philip gape at ghost for a minute.

"Philip and Johanna you just cause mayhem." jack

*laughs* Johanna

"Un-understood" Philip

"Getting wet feet now, bro?" Joe

"No I’m just a little nervous" Philip

"Brother?" jack

"Yeah Joe and I are brothers" Philip
