《Just For Fun》Chapter 15: Representatives of human kind

The woman stood up from her seat and signaled for a few stragglers to sit. “We will begin the meeting with the heroes now May I have everyone’s attention.” She looks around the table and confirms that everyone is looking her way before starting the topic.
“Now this will be mostly old news to the members of the board but the Heroes need as much information as possible to be able to function.” She points towards the middle of the room and the holographic projector starts displaying a map.
“As you can see from the map we currently have only three cities, the one you all know that houses the refugees to the north, the one to the south west that produces most of the food our people consume and the one to the east that produces our weapons and other necessary machinery.”
The water displayed on the map glows red and red arrows appear on the map pointing from beyond the mountains in the east, the mountain to the west, the north eastern and north western approaches. “The enemy is approaching from these locations but also control the water, thankfully the demi humans in the water are water bound life forms or we would have already been wiped out, but as the situation stands, we have lost the ability to harvest any marine resources.”
The hologram zoomed into and split into two areas, the eastern pass and the whole northern area, the arrows became more detailed and took specific paths and lines were drawn in red and blue across the maps. “The west has been dominated by the orcs while the mountains are currently been held by the goblins. Off to the north east the rat men are attacking that border and in the east we were forced to block the pass.”
Xs’ appear marking three locations and a circle expands from the academy, the green line passes the blue line in the west and pushes the red line back a few kilometers from the farmlands center that was marked with an X. the red lines coming from the mountains is pushed back all the way to the pass, leaving only a few small reddened areas in the forests and a dot appears at the pass. The north eastern and eastern lines remain unmoved but the green line reaches them and blue line thickens.
“Thanks to the alien’s the orcs have been halted and even pushed back a fair distance and the east has been fortified but the north forest has been by far the greatest victory. The goblins in the forest were nearly completely obliterated thanks to most of the aliens using that area as live target training and afterwards they were completely locked in the mountains by… as a new report has revealed a single trap.”
The western X turned into a Xed checkmark. “Our next three objectives include the full recovery and restoration of the western farms to gain the food production necessary to survive the winter, the complete obliteration of the goblin fortress at the mining town located in the mountainous zone for its resources which are quite numerous and finally the recovery of the main mining zone of this continent located just on the other side of the blocked eastern pass.”
Three circles appear and surround three areas with the first and third being the biggest ones. “Our first object requires the orcs to be pushed back an additional one hundred kilometers back nearly to the western cities area, the second objective only requires the extinction of the goblin fiefdom in the mountains and the capture of the far pass. Our largest and hardest objective of all, the mining zone’s liberation requires the succubae and incubi kingdoms annihilation along with the capture and fortification of three passes, a cave system and a wide frontier.”

“The first two objectives must be achieved in the next two months, while the third one can be achieved anytime in the next ten months. If we want to secure the continued existence of humans…” she looks at the alien’s at the table. “At least in this world… we will have to manage at least these three.”
The hologram switches to two different 3d forms one of a woman with small wings growing out of her back and a man with the same, both had demon tails and clawed fingers. The details of their faces and other physical forms were blurred out.
“These are the basic forms of succubae and incubi, he suggest extreme caution when approaching their kingdom, all of them have these three traits so the images were blurred to high light them. Their claws have small venom sacks located at their base that cause, butterflies in the stomach, weak knees, dizziness and all that. The toxin actually doesn’t affect the body but passes without any resistance into the brain; there it turns into dopamine, adrenaline and norepinephrine along with a few others. In essence you fall in love with the succubus or incubus that then, if you’re alone feeds off of you or if you’re in a group makes you fight your friends.”
The hologram returns to the large map view, with the battle lines shown as they currently are. “If anyone returns with a sample, our scientists will attempt to make an antidote for it but at this moment the plan is to focus on that area after the other objectives have been cleared so we don’t have to worry too much about them for now.”
The woman looks around the room. “I would like to open the floor for anyone with an idea or a question.”
Bö jumps up and Bounces up and down on her chair with her hand extended, grade school style. A few people around the table chuckle softly at her action and the woman smiles. “Go ahead dear.”
Bö’s hand drops and she stops jumping but she stays standing on her chair so everyone can see her. “I would like a list of the information spoken of in this meeting, that can be shared to the rest of our compatriots, preferably arranged by subject and level of secrecy to the public. I will make sure to only spread the truly delicate points to serious guild leaders to maximize information security. Would that be in any way possible?”
The people around the table were a little confused… did that really just happen? Sure she spoke in a cutesy voice filled with lisps on the bigger words and hesitations but those were still a seriously grownup thing to say. “My sister ate a thesaurus a few years ago and my parents had her study the main subjects of information systems… they did the same to me.”
The people gathered around the table grab the rope Nebel had thrown them and acted as if a super genius level child speaking in university level language was an everyday thing.
“Oh so she is your sister, your family must be pretty amazing. It’s quite strange that any of you knew each other billions of aliens were summoned.” The woman who was chairing the event says.
“You think that’s weird! I’ve got my university’s lead researcher of “anything to do with the mind” to my left and on my right is a family friend.” Nebel says exasberated by the coincidence.
“Hey, hey, hey, professor! I don’t research anything I just have a phd in every science related to the mind and hand in papers…. I live and breathe the mind!” the crazy man says outloud.

“Come on Nebel darling aren’t I a bit more than that?” the nympho says teasingly into Nebels ear…
The woman is pretty shocked at this “How could this be? Four out of six of the people we chose know each other? How could that be possible does your world have centralized learning or something? Don’t tell me you to also know them…”
The last two aliens, Nayder and Alan shake their heads in reply and Bö says in a cute voice “Onii-san, whos that woman beside you? I haven’t met her!”
Nebel shakes his head and says to Bö “Our parents didn’t want their little angel to be corrupted by a harlot.”
“HEY!” the harlot in question shouts into his ear “I’m no whore, I’ve never asked for payment!”
“Everyone calm yourselves!” the man Alan says “Leave this for another time, we are in a meeting!”
Alan was a caucasian man with gray at his temples a stern look on his hard face and the build of a ageing body builder. “I support lady Bö’s suggestion and propose the creation of an electronically report to be set up to inform us aliens about the necessary details, current main objectives and possible difficulties we will have on our journeys.”
Alan points at Bö. “I also recommend lady Bö for the position of editor in chief of this idea, the people taught by her have been found to be well informed and helpful in various ways.”
The woman nods in thanks to Alan and takes charge once again. “Everyone for this plan raise your hands.” Most of the councilors lift their hands. The woman looks at the six of them “The vote is for you guys too, you’re the representative of the aliens from now on.” All six of them lift your hands, while Bö jumps up to get her hand in line with everyone else’s.
“Ok that is approved. Are there anymore suggestions?” the woman says to the gathered representatives.
One of the councilors gets to his feet. “I would like to do two things. First I would like to thank the aliens for answering our call, you didn’t have to you choose to. And second I would like to ask: Who exactly is holding the northern pass if this young fellow is here?” he points at Nebel.
The woman looks down at a display that she brought up the second she heard the words “Northern pass”. “When we picked up representative Nebel, there were two young teenage girls with him, we arranged for them to show a few soldiers the traps while we took Nebel to the meeting they should be there right about now. Of course that was before we knew it was only one trap.”
“Representative Nebel how long will your trap last?” another councilor asks from his right near a statue of a bunny girl standing proud with metals placed on her breast. “we are under the impression it resets itself.”
“This is actually a point I require assistance with good counselors.” Nebel starts with “My trap is only effective during daylight hours and needs to be manually deactivated to preserve function before night fall.”
“Ahh you are one of the aliens that choose permanent spells. May I ask who assisted you with the trap and what kind it is?” an elderly woman that has a robe on asks him.
“I made the main component to the trap by myself; I made it with permanent vectors and a few spears, nothing fancy. The spears were made by my two cousins, one of which is a boy by the way.” Nebel replies partially to the sorceress looking counselor, partially to the woman heading the meeting.
“Hmm interesting… Young man do you know why we haven’t made any traps with vectors?” the elderly woman asks him. “No why?” “The mental strain to make one is too great, and the power required is higher than solar power’s limit.”
Nebel ponders for a moment before replying “I didn’t make one big one, I made a bunch of small ones and placed them in the same area.”
The woman sits back down while stroking her chin “Interesting, very Interesting.”
Alan says while still seated “Should I move my men to cover the pass during the night?”
The woman heading the meeting shakes her head “No your needed to hold back the rat men.”
Nayder stands up “Then I will bring my men to the pass during the night to assure the goblins don’t get through.”
Alan shakes his head at Nayder. “No, just like my men you are needed where you are.”
Nebel looks around the table “Can’t anyone just give me a way to keep my permanent spells active during the night?”
The sorceress looks towards him once more “Nebel, I’m not even sure how you managed to make them to begin with, it should not be possible, you’re the only one I’ve heard of to make a solar powered spell work past solar energy limitations, they only absorb solar power from a single meter radius. Even that famous vectors nut over in the training area that uses his own anti-gravity field, has solar paneling covering all the roofs of the training area to power it.”
Nebel looks around at the rest of the councilors “Ok then I’ll hold the pass until day break can I get any reinforcements?”
The woman leading the meeting opens a display and starts typing “There are still a few dozen aliens that haven’t gotten a quest or gone off hunting somewhere, I’ll post a mandatory mission to any aliens the enter the adventurer’s office. They’ll meet you at the forests entrance.”
The woman finishes writing and motions for everyone to stand. “This is just about all the time we have for now I hope everyone manages to achieve their mission, for all of our sakes. Please allow the aliens to leave the room first.”
The six players leave the room and head towards the entrance where the cars that brought them are waiting to take them back.
an information heavy chapter, i hope to have some detailed battle soon until now he has only battled small fries so i thought it would be too over kill to give them to much spotlight,i aslo plan a little bit of Nebel's real world life in the next few chaps so they should be pretty good
Once more suggestions are very welcome, i'm doing this story to get better at story telling and writing in general,i'd like to see it improve enough to make this story improve enough to gain at least half a star more!

The Way of Wrought Earth, or: My Tale of Rebirth as a Mostly Inanimate Rock
Mirage Winter. Second Clause, current act. A Relic Hunter's life is harsh — and often short — in the shattered lands of the Frontier. But when Whitelight reemerges, a legendary blade capable of separating anything the user wills it to cut, a newly formed unit organized of Hunter’s both young and old (and sediment based, in a particular case) vow to stop it from falling into cruel hands. Standing against them is the Frontier itself: the unbridled wrath of global federations, fellow Hunters, and those who lurk in the shadows of giants. As the world races to unravel a history desperately concealed, a semi-sapient rock soon realizes that some things are better off dead and buried — especially when those secrets carry an insidious corruption with no cure. Iteration: Mirror-glass Stars in Iron Oceans. First Clause. A soul wakes up as a rock, clinging to fragmented memories and knowledge of another era. What fate awaits such a creature? No, this isn't satire. Yes, I am dumb enough to try to take this seriously. Updates Wednesday, Friday with a variable amount of chapters. This story is not recommended for the easily disturbed. The subtle World of Terraria
Evan Langford, wakes up one day to find himself in the game world of Terraria. Confused with no understanding on how he got there, he slowly brings himself up and swears that if there is a way how he got into this place, then there must be a way on how he can get out of this place. He already knows all the inn's and out's of Terraria, how hard can it be? He then realizes that all is not what it seems since there are skills, stats, different races, a working community and many more things that aren't present in Terraria. Which begs the question. Is he really in Terraria? Note: 1) Cover art was made by a friend of mine for this story and I have his permission to use it. Thank you, @centryNEL2) I wrote this story a long time ago when I was still an aspiring writer but it was really bad so I'm re-writing it here.3) While this is a fanfiction about a game, you don't need to know anything about the game to enjoy this story as almost everything is explained in a simple way that even those who have not heard of Terraria will enjoy this story.

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
