Chapter 24: Not The Main Force?
Most of the bandits had fled, the bodies around the gate were buried, the men who were injured were brought to the guildhall, including Jack who was bleeding but not fatally, they treated most of them successfully while looking at any survivors from both sides, they found a few bandits clearly not being dead, they got captured and brought with them to a few cells after being bandaged up so they would at least not die bleeding out.
The day would go by silently after the big battle, John sitting next to Jack who is still out, as Maria and Vanessa, come in looking for Jack, quickly behind them Grey follows them toward Jack, asking how Jack was doing, John tells them that he is doing fine, nothing fatal was hit, but it was reckless of him to push so hard, as the bandits could have easily killed both of them if they really wanted, but luck was on their side instead.
Meanwhile, inside the hideout of The Shadow Hunters, I was still waiting on them, having all the hope that they would return safely, as I buried the body of the dead scout, he was holding a letter, which said 'Today we are finished, tomorrow we are history', not understanding the letter I would leave it on the table, as the body was buried I would take another look at the letter, noticing while holding it up the candle fire was showing the letters secret message, 'They are coming, they will not stop, you think this is the main force... you are mistaken', as I quickly realize, this letter was not from anyone, but the real leader of the bandits, clearly mocking us by sending a small part of their army to raid us, but since they clearly failed, which I did not know at that time, they will come back to take revenge, as I read the letter further, 'They are sending over two hundred bandits', their main army consisting of over two thousand and three leaders, I was pretty sure we would win over two hundred if they reinforcements would come in time, but two thousand?!

8 115Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.
