Chapter 25: The Battles Aftermath
Jack was still resting, as everyone left Maria, Vanessa, Grey, and John would talk a bit more with Robert about the situation, after hearing we won the battle I rush to them handing over the letter, they looked shocked if their full force attacks right now the whole town would fall before the next day even begins, they all agreed, we needed more reinforcements to even try and stand a chance, Robert said their city has around 500 more men to spare they could be here within a few days at best, as they all agree that would at least help them having a stronger defensive then before, as Robert sends five of his men away toward their city to get more reinforcements, giving the letter with them as prove.
The men left within the next twenty minutes, The gate is still completely destroyed, and the people of the town agreed they had to help, they started to rebuild the gate, but this would take a few days at least to be operational.
The gate is guarded by thirty horsemen at all times, as they switch every few hours, while the townspeople work on repairing the gate as fast as they can, Vanessa and Maria stay as well the first round, the second round was Grey, they would switch multiple times that night.
The night was silent, beside the workers at the gate and sometimes noise from one of the horses.
It was now early in the morning I was sleeping at The Shadow Hunters hideout, as some of the town people were still repairing the gate, actually making more progress than expected, already being done with 40% of the gate overnight, as most of them switched since they stayed up all night, Robert would switch with one of his men to stay at the watch, as the day went by pretty quietly, the gate would be repaired for 70% before night would fall, as nothing would happen that night the next day the gate would be fully repaired, as the men decided since the gate was repaired to station men on the walls instead of the horses in front of the gate.
