《Archillies Duane : The World Traveller》Chapter 11

Yesterday when I went to pick up the herbs, there was an abundance so I decided to take extra for me.
At that time, I saw another herb in the corner of my eyes, but I ignored it.
After the little celebration in the inn, I recognized that herb.
The first herb is called ‘White Garb’, since it is an extremely dominating type of herb, in terms of colour that is.
Let’s say I grind it, and mix it with a red herb.
For one reason or another, once you look at it, the red herb would be nowhere to be found.
Just like water and sugar.
The second herb is called ‘Blue Succubi’, attracting many types of Insectoid-monsters, it is considered dangerous as well.
Luckily when I got back to it in the middle of the night, it was still there, actually, 3 of them were present.
If mixed with large amounts of ‘White Garb’, an Elixir wanted by nobles and merchants all around the continent.
‘Elixir of Spirits’.
Allowing the person to gain a new stat called Spirit, a person would be able to see dead spirits, and possibly manipulate them.
Could be used for many things, such as a mana storage, summoning catalyst, and many more.
In my night visit, I had to take even more ‘White Garb’ to accommodate for the 3 Elixirs.
What am I going to do with them?
Ha, drink all of them, obviously.
I’m not in need of money, nor do I want to give it to another person while I could make use of it.
Grinding 20 Garbs, I had Henry help me with the measurements.
Even though I need a large amount, following the recipe by the book will allow me to get a strong result.
Of course, if I put too much of this or that, well…
The potency will decrease or become lethal, even for me.

After putting around half of what I grinded, I took another pedestal and started grinding 2 Blue Succubus.
Making use of Henry once again, I put exactly as it said.
Taking out self-made purified water, I put it in a flask, then poured the mixture, and stirred with a glass rod.
Ironically, even though Blue Succubi is blue, once it is mixed with White Garb, the solution turns red.
Mixing it even more until it became between pink and red, I used inspect on the flask.
--Elixir of Spirits
-Made by the upstart alchemist Archillies Duane, it was made with absolute delicacy, making it of higher quality than possible.
-Effect : Increase Spirit stat by 40
-Quality : Flawless
-Ding!
“Alchemy has become Lv57”
Nice.
But something is wrong.
Although I did the recipe exactly as it was written, I felt that it is missing something.
Staring at the flask, my hand started to move and held it, then poured mana into it.
The flask glowed, and started shaking, but soon the Liquid absorbed it, and became dark blue colour.
-Ding!
“You have completed the recipe : Elixir of Spirits”
I once again used inspect, while holding my jaw from dropping.
--Complete Elixir of Spirits
-Made by the upstart alchemist Archillies Duane, he unravelled the mystery of the incomplete Elixir, finally ending the eternal search.
-Effect : Increase Spirit stat by 100, Open a Hidden Skill Route, unlocks the ability ‘Spirit Seer’ at level 10.
-Quality : Beyond Perfect
I smiled, but then I thought..
Why did no one else try to pour mana into the Elixir?
Then, I realized that about 50% of my MP was consumed, answering my question.
But thankfully, it was regenerating at a high rate, so I would be able to do the rest.
Picking up the flask, I drank it slowly, savoring the strawberry-like taste.
Feeling rejuvenated, the familiar sound entered my head.

-Ding!
“You have unlocked Spirit stat.”
-Ding!
“Spirit stat has gained 1000 points.”
-Ding!
“Due to acquiring all the required mental stats, merging will commence.”
-Ding!
“Due to having all the physical stats, merging will commence.”
Feeling a bit lightheaded, I leaned on the workshop, with my eyes rolling.
Unable to keep myself standing even while leaning, I fell on the floor, and blacked out.
…
I woke up, still sprawled on the floor, so I could assume that I wasn’t unconscious for long.
On their own, the Magic Arms supported me up, enough so that I could lean on the worktable.
After a few minutes of standing and trying to wake my body from it’s half-paralyzed state, and finally gained my bearings.
I let go of the table, and stood upright, feeling as if I was a new me.
Checking my Status Menu, I found that all my stats have turned into 3 : Body-Mind-Luck.
Body was STR, VIT, AGI, DEF and Charm, while mind was INT, WIS, WIL and Spirit.
Luck can’t belong in any category, since it is one on it’s own.
For one reason or another, the three of them had 700 stat points.
Although that is less than what the total initially was, I could feel as if my body and mind were clearer than when the stats were alone.
Looking back at the now empty flask, I was given 1000 points, even though it said 100.
I racked my brain for a reason until I remembered my class’ effects.
One of them made items that I use were 10x as effective.
How do Elixirs work now, I asked myself.
In no book was there a part about stat merging, so it is hard to come up with an answer.
I decided to create another Elixir, with the help of Henry once again, and used Inspect.
Long story short, it now gives me 10 Mind stat points, rather than 100.
My Spirit Seer increased to level 20, and it ends with that.
Looking at my still working wristwatch, it seems that an hour has passed.
Having completed my mission, I went out and paid the copper, then left.
Adding a new goal to my list, which is to make my own weapon and armor.
Remembering the fact that I need a change of clothes, and a bath, it was decided that I’ll go to the inn, and ask where I could take a bath.
The Innkeeper, whom is called Rudolf, turned out to be a ‘Cool’ guy, so I stopped worrying about him getting annoyed of me for no reason.
On the way, the Arms were restless, going around and doing what they desire, but since no harm is done, I let them go, until John decided to go and flip some skirts.
He went up to a long, slim woman with blue straight hair, and tried to flip it, to be caught in the end.
He flinched when she nearly slapped him, and floated to hide behind me.
Really John?
I visibly sighed, as she walked up to me with a tinge of bloodlust under her cold expression.
She raised her hand and went for the slap.
Except that when she hit my cheek with full force, I felt as if I was poked.
Looking at her reaction, her expression broke, now in pain.
Feeling bad for her, I cast a Heal spell, then apologized on behalf of John.
With the ordeal taking about 20 minutes, I hurried up, since I wanted to bathe as early as possible.
But what awaited me there was even more problems…
