《Archillies Duane : The World Traveller》Chapter 10

Approximately 10 seconds later, I could feel them draining more mana than usual out of me.
Albeit miniscule, my Magic Manipulation allowed me to detect even the tiniest bit of changes.
5 more seconds and the shaking stopped, then we could see mana seeping out of them from the part where the wrist is supposed to be.
Soon materializing into a whole limb, each of them had a new shape.
-Ding!
“Evolution Complete, Magic hand has changed to Magic arm.”
Looking closely at each ‘Arm’, I noticed that they are different rather than when they were twins in the Hand state.
Larry and Henry had slimmer fingers, and I could see longer nails.
Bob now has a thick hand, and a weight lifter’s muscles.
James looks normal, with the exception of a cloth now tied around his wrist.
John on the other hand now has long, slim fingers, and a somewhat average muscle size.
If I were to guess, Larry and Henry are women, while the rest are men.
Bob was incredibly obvious if you asked me.
James is.. well, still unique with the cloth tied around him.
After standing still for a while, they woke up with the crowd’s sudden cheering.
They floated awkwardly for a while, hitting each other while trying to reach me.
On the other hand, they seem to be adapting quite quickly.
Finally after some stumbling, they reached me and I hugged them (held hands for a while) as if they were my children who just learned how to walk.
While they tried to get used to their new bodies, I went towards Grovan and started pulling him towards the Healer Headquarters (obviously since this is the capital), and dropped him off, telling them that it is all on his tab.
Recognizing him, they accepted and took him to a room while calling for capable healers.

Although no actual harm was done (except for his pride and manhood), it is better for him to be tend to while rather than stay on the ground.
Once I got out, I saw the Magic Ha-.. Magic Arms playing around while getting more accustomed.
Now that I look closer, each one a Tattoo on it.
Larry had a tattoo in the shape of 1, just like how I made their mana circulation go.
The rest had their respective numbers as well, allowing me and other people to recognize them, even with their new shapes.
Out of curiousity, I asked Bob for a pushing match, and he complied quickly.
I got my right hand in his (Since they are one-handed), and we both started pushing.
Surprisingly, he was giving me an even harder time, even while I’m using the Ki series.
I use Body Strengthening, and finally I became able to push him off.
Seems that their skills (actual skill) have evolved with them as well, since I’m seeing even better manipulation of mana in Bob.
I opened my Abilities list, and scanned for Magic Arm until I found it.
If I remember correctly, Magic Hand was at 75, so does that mean it leveled up 25 times in a single fight?
Then I remembered.
Many hidden skills offered bonuses to Ability XP, making it become easier to level up.
For comparison, I leveled up my Magic Hands yesterday up until 40.
For a normal person, who didn’t try and dabble into new skills, it would take him a month or so, not to mention that after reaching a certain level, specific actions are required to earn XP rather than just let it float about.
Fighting Abilities and Buffs just need constant usage, but they are incredibly draining and dangerous to train.

Which brings us to Magic.
Magic could be used in two ways, Offensive or Support.
Offensive is self-explanatory, as such to increase the levels, constant usage is needed, right?
Wrong.
If a person has a Magic ability without deep understanding of it’s element, a person could dream on for so long.
Same goes for support, let us say ‘Heal’, what does it do?
If a person just knows how to cast it, but don’t know what it does in detail, saying ‘It heals’, then that person is a failure, genius or not.
As for me, I skip those steps since my XP requirement sticks to in between levels 5 and 6.
The requirement for the first 20 levels are the easiest.
However, even if I did not have that ability, my textbook knowledge allows me to understand and know how each spell works in detail.
Looking back on the stories that I picked up, many heroes always had a problem understanding the concepts of the world.
What is magic?
For people like me, I understood it by feeling and instinct, aided by the knowledge of books.
For them, months if not years.
Now back to the matter at hand.
I go to the nearby alchemy shop, called ‘Vanilla’s Apothecary’.
Opening the door, a bell rings.
Looking around, I saw many ingredients and magical catalysts for many elements.
A small wand engraved in an incredibly beautiful pattern offers help to spell control and power.
Of course, the material used will make the efficiency better, but I suppose it was made for beginner Magicians, seeing as it is made of an average type of wood.
Yet, the engravings are incredibly detailed for such a terrible material.
I browse around, until someone finally enters.
An brown haired, petite girl with a body to be lust for, comes from a room behind the counter.
Her hair tied in a chestnut, suiting her bright brown eyes.
“Welcome to Vanilla’s Apothecary! What are you looking for?”
“Ah, I’d like to borrow your workshop, do you mind?”
“Not really, what’s your name, mister…”
“Archillies, and I assume you are Ms. Vanilla?”
“No need for formalities, come.”
She gave me a bright smile that I couldn’t handle, and I could feel my face burning.
Thankfully, she didn’t see as she was moving in front.
After passing by a couple of rooms and going downstairs, we entered the basement, and I could see flasks and different tools used for different purposes.
Afterwards, she told me that each hour is one copper, so I agreed and proceeded with my work as she left.
I stared at her until she left, infatuated, but soon came back to my senses.
-Ding!
“Charm has been resisted.”
“WIL+ has increased by 10”
Well now, magic is more dangerous in more than one way, isn’t it?
I thought, as I took many ingredients out of my Pocket Dimension then arranged the tools according to the order which I will use them for.
Oh boy, I’m looking forward to my first potion!
