Chapter 2: Catching up - Chillin' like a villain.
Running out of the school building towards the Sapphire section, entering her unit on floor one, taking out her phone, dialing a number, speaking in a flirty tone. "Hi Parrot. How are you going? Hope you are at the beach."
"I surely am." Parrot replied on the other end.
"Good. I will see you there". Hanging up, changing into her neon blue beachwear, heading to the beach, expecting to see Parrot, she screamed. "Woo hoo! I get to see the beautiful beach."
Walking out of her unit and the Sapphire Apartment, bumping into Parrot on the way out, pretending not to see him, purposely 'banging' into him. "Fancy seeing you here!"
Putting on her duck face, she made him blush. "You are wearing a bright green boxer shorts. My friend Amethyst would love you. Now tell me where is your handsome friend."
"He is probably in the beach." Parrot answered nervously, trying his best not to break eye contact.
Noticing Parrot struggling to hide his nervousness, she took pity on him but not without smirking. "Let's go to the beach then."
Black Wasteland has plenty of beaches but none of them were as beautiful as Aurora Beach. Neither were they as welcoming.
While the sand in Black Wasteland's beaches were grey with cone shells, crowned of thorn starfish, rats, and other animals that can bite, Aurora Beach has white sand, colorful sea shells, and a great variety of crustaceans.
"I bet Parrot doesn't know how tough it is in the Black Wastelands". She thought to herself. "I am surprise that the Land of Aurora actually includes a small part of the ocean."
"Is everything alright?" Parrot asked her, looking concern.
"Of course. Let's have some fun."

Placing their towels down on the ground, she spotted a boy in orange boxers surfing.
Turning to Parrot who was lying down under the sun, she drop a question. "Is that your best friend ?"
"He probably is."
"I am off then. Look after my stuff please. Thank you."
Running off towards the sea, leaving Parrot behind to look after her things, knowing he is trust worthy for some unknown reason, she screamed called out to the boy she had a crush on. "Brian!"
"Who are you?"
"I am Icelyn. You look so handsome today." Grinning, trying to hide her nervousness, walking up to him, placing her right hand on his abs, gently stroking them, turning to see if Parrot was looking.
"I am Brian alright and just between us Parrot is a bit weird."
"Oooo, you little backstabber...."Grinning cheekily, poking Brian in the right chest with his right index finger.
"I have got to get going now."
"Can I have you phone number? I will call you later." Winking at her crush to see how he will respond.
"Why don't you give me yours. We will catch up soon."
Following Brian back to his group of friends, she spoke out her number just as soon as her crush took out his phone. "See you later, handsome. Don't forget to call me!"
Watching her crush and his friends walk away till they were out of sight, proceeding to take some time to enjoy the fresh air, the teal sea, and the indigo sky, closing her eyes briefly, allowing the wind to blow on her face.
Feeling the wind blow on her face, slowly opening her eyes, noticing a girl in neon blue hair and pink swim wear walking up to her. "Enjoying the sun I see. What are you doing?"

"Chillin like a villain, Diamond. Want to join me?"
"I don't think so. I am looking for Jasper and my friends. He just disappeared out of nowhere with them."
"He is probably taken?"
"What?" The neon blue haired girl briefly raised her voice.
"Just kidding."
"I thought so!" Diamond broke out in a laugh. "Anyway, didn't you come to the beach with Parrot? He is probably waiting for you." Clearly changing the topic.
"You are right. I got to go now. My new boyfriend might be calling me soon. See you later."
Going their separate ways, running back to Parrot who is still faithfully looking after her stuff and his.
"Thank you, Parrot". Kneeling down, moving her lips towards his face, kissing him on the cheek, causing him to blush, grinning away proud of herself. "Don't be Doppy."
"Heigh ho!" Parrot replied shyly. "You are so beautiful."
"Thank you!" Grinning while pushing him aside, lying down beside him on his green towel, resting her right cheek on his left chest, chuckling. "It is a good time to enjoy the sun. You need to work out a bit more like your friend, Brian.
Noticing Parrot in a state of shock not knowing what to do, deciding to tease him more by asking him a question. "Do you have a girlfriend ?"
"I-I will get one soon".
"That must mean no. I already went out with someone in Black Wasteland but it didn't work out. That is after three months."
"Why is that?"
"Why should I tell you. It's not like you will understand." Chiding while cuddling up to him at the same time, noticing his confuse look, knowing her femenine power is working, she continued teasing with her words.
Stroking his hair with her left hand, noticing he became twice as red as before, prompting her to further ask him a question which would embarrass him. "Bet you never had a girl do this to you before in Aurora. We girls from Black Wasteland are more expressive."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't you want to be cool?"
"Y-yes."
"I can show you how?"
"H-how?"
Abruptly removing her left hand from his hair and releasing him from her cuddle. packing her things, walking away but not before saying. "You will see sometime later this week. You are a nice guy but you just need a little more game."
"I guess I will see you later?"
"See you later!" Blowing a kiss at him before running off back to the school compound. Heading back to her apartment, taking a shower, dressing up like any girl would, clearly preparing for a date.

Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
