《DIVE》Dive 20: His First Rage

Short summary of the last chapter:
Spoiler : Voice created a ‘for donations’ style food stall. He bought a few healing books, learned from them, and got his butt handed to him during staff training.
Susan’s POV
After Voice helped Susan learn chemistry she spent most of her free time doing experiments. She had learned a lot of interesting things. Like how some types of products could be made to burn hotter or longer with other things added. It didn’t even need alchemy. Of course Susan saw the similarities between the two sciences.
Susan had also been spending time creating a present for Voice. She knew he wanted to leave, but she would keep him here as long as possible. She just felt… better having him around. Besides her old master no one had really been as talented as her in alchemy. Then along came this lad needing a bit of money, and BAM. He had learned more about the Green Healing Herb than she even knew.
She wished she could go with him on his journey. She wanted to help him any way she could. It was amazing what he could do with just the Green Herb. The next rank in healing potions was the Red Bloom. It was a common ranked item, but couldn’t be found near any cities. It needed a lot of natural energy to grow.
Voice could find some if he went far enough into the forest, but he seemed like he had other important things to do. Susan wanted to spend time with Voice. She had even left him several notes asking if they could go around town. She had written and thrown away dozens until she wrote the right one.
Susan decided to learn sewing from Elizabeth. It had taken a week, but she was fairly confident in her skills. She began sewing him an alchemy satchel. Every alchemist needed a place to put different seeds and plant products. Plus, the satchel she was making would be slightly enchanted by her friend. She would work on her chemistry during the day, and the satchel before going to bed.
This was the first time she went out of her way to learn something for someone else. Normally she was too engrossed in her work. She spent a few long nights debating why she would go out of her way so much for this handsome man. She decided it was because he had helped her learn chemistry.
But her feelings were more than that. It was like he was the only one that could ever understand her. She hadn’t had any friends except Lydia and Elizabeth for a long time. Evan didn’t really count since she didn’t really find him interesting.
She swore one night that she would do whatever Voice needed. She also started making some recipes she thought might help him as a person that can’t deal a lot of damage. She even went so far as to get Evan in on it.
Susan really liked Voice, but she didn’t really fell romantic feelings towards him though. For some reason she never really found anyone romantically attractive. She went on a few dates with people, sure, but never expected or offered anything more.
The only love in her life was her research. Her parents had died when she was young, she was seven. They had gotten a plague. At least that was what the military doctors said. They offered to take her with them when they left, but she declined. It turned out that what really caused the town to die was a bit of night blossom growing in their water supply.
Night blossom was the deadlier cousin to nightshade. Susan had spent several weeks studying why she was left when the rest of the town was killed. She finally noted that the well water was murkier than it should have been. She got a shoddy rope from her parents’ house. She climbed down the well and found the culprit. After finding it she extracted it for study. It was her first time doing any alchemy.
It was a horrible failure, but she found out that it was a deadly poison thanks to the town elder’s library. Many years later she would find that she had a natural immunity to most natural poisons.
She started making healing potions at a fairly young age. Selling them to travelers that passed her village. Of course she was the only one in her village, but she still stayed.
After a few years of self-study she had gained a bit of a reputation. She had a lot of trouble finding food at first so she mostly lived off of the plants she knew were good for eating.
Some people saw that and took pity on her. They hunted in exchange for the potions she made. There were a few people that chose to stay in her village the first few years. She studied hard, harder than almost anyone studied at anything. She became so focused one alchemy it almost became an obsession.
Eventually she left the village to go find an alchemist master to learn from. She left a village of thirty people. There were six small families, and a few hunters that decided to stay. When she left they were all disappointed. It was no exaggeration to say that she was the reason for the village existing.
But she did leave, and eventually learned of someone would become her master. Her journey was long and arduous, but that’s a story for another time.
Elizabeth’s POV
Elizabeth was the daughter to a blacksmith. Her mother was a stay at home wife. Her parents had a wonderful relationship. All decisions on the family would have to be agreed to by both parties. The household money was taken care of by her mother since she was the daughter of a merchant. Her mother was a lovely woman. She was strict but always had compassion. She would often help the Chapel in doing charity work.
Her father never did charity work, but would give opportunities of work to people in need. He would always pay with a room and food. If they did a good job they would also get some money. It’s not that he was a miser or anything, but he believed you didn’t need any more than food, a bed, and a family to be happy. Since he couldn’t provide families for the men that asked for work he gave them the first two.
Her mother often took ill. She would be bed ridden for days at a time. When Elizabeth was still a child she started to show occasional symptoms of the disease as well. Her father felt bad for her, so he accepted an apprentice. The apprentice would have to work, but her father thought maybe the two might hit it off and become friends.
She never actually spoke to the boy though. She didn’t have much contact with people outside her parents. A few months after the boy started his apprenticeship Elizabeth met a young girl that claimed to be an alchemist. They hit it off right away. She would come over to play, and often gave Elizabeth potions that seemed to make the pain go away for a while. When Elizabeth wasn’t sick she would run and find the girl. The girl’s name was Susan. Elizabeth thought it was a beautiful name. A year after she met Susan her father accepted another apprentice to his forge. The two girls went to spy on the new boy. Elizabeth thought the new boy, Evan, was rather scrawny to work at a smithy.
They would often spy on the two apprentices. She noticed that the older boy would often have to help the younger one. Over the course of the next few years she had grown as close to Susan as humanly possible.
She knew about Susan’s dream of finding a master to learn under. So when Elizabeth’s grandfather came into town one day with info on such a man she told Susan. Susan got ready to leave immediately. She stayed to more days, not because she had anything that she needed to do, but because she had a hard time leaving her friend.
Eventually Susan’s craving for knowledge got the better of her. She left, and the only other people her age Elizabeth was left to talk to were the two boys. Over the course of those few years she had started to see the boy, Evan, in a new light. He never quit, if he made a mistake he would fix it or start over and make the object without any mistakes. He was completely dedicated. She fell in love with him while Susan was away. It might have started with the need for social interaction that she now had none of, but that wasn’t the entire reason.
She introduced herself to the two boys. It took her several years to make Evan fall in love with her, but she did it. When Susan came back she was married to him. (“Eventually I met his daughter, and we fell madly in love. After graduating from my apprenticeship I asked for her hand” Quote from Evan lol).
Voice’s POV
Voice woke up noticing many things at once. The first thing was that Heather and Boris were laying in his room, covered in blood. He pushed them awake with a quick kick to their sides gentle nudge of his boot.
They woke with a start, instantly in fight mode. When they noticed Voice was the one that woke them they stretched and yawned. Well, Boris sounded more like a light roar.
Voice was against animal abuse. Or any type of abuse really, but these were just pixels. Even if the bear were to die he would just come back. Voice only felt sympathy for them when other npcs could see. He would hate to get a bad rep over that. Of course he couldn’t abuse them too much or they might decide to attack him.
After they stretched Voice sent them out to continue hunting the wolves. He instructed them to start to go deeper into the woods until the found worthy enemies. He wanted them to level up as much as possible.
He might be able to trick Davros into letting him take the two into the realm. Or failing that, he could at least get the other guy weakened. That was of course if he wasn’t able to get Davros make him his Champion.
He finished auto reading one his staff fighting book. Somehow all of the forms in it were transferred into his mind. He smiled. He was going to be able to beat the shit out of the kid that pissed him off yesterday.
He went next door and requested a chainmail armor suit from Evan. Evan was already at work on his anvil.
Wow, now that’s dedication. I should start thinking about how to help him expand his smithy. The better it is the better stuff I could get.
“So you’re finally tired of that overweight training armor huh? Well I say good riddance. I can make it, but you’ll have to resupply me on the iron it takes. Sound fair?”
Voice nodded as he left.
I saved your wife’s life! NO it doesn’t sound fair!
He started thinking of the upcoming battle between good and evil.
Voice was trying to weigh the betrayal of a goddess with the benefits of being a dark champion. He was debating himself when he noticed a red blinking light in the top left of his vision. He tried to look at it, but it kept moving with his eyes.
He guessed it was some sort of game thing, so he reached out and touched where it looked like it was.
For reaching 50 wisdom you can unlock the special skill: Skill Enhancement.
“Inspect: Skill Enhancement”
Skill Enhancement
Current Level: Novice
This skill will rank up once every 50 wisdom, up to a maximum of 250 wisdom.
For every rank you gain an addition 10% experience while using a skill.
This skill can stack up to 50% experience bonus.
Hell yeah! New skill! He did a fist pump while smiling like an idiot.
He tried to fuse the skill to others, but none of them were compatible.
Wait, did it say 50 wisdom?
Voice checked his status screen. He now had 77 wisdom.
Excited and fearing what he was probably going to see, he gazed at his unused skill points section. He had zero points. He stood silently for several seconds. His angry only increased in volume. He had a vague memory of clicking something last night, but he was basically delirious!
He called out.
“MODERATOR! I need a MODERATOR!” He waited for several minutes. He gave up and went to the dojo. Before he was more than a few steps away, he felt a light tap on his shoulder.
He turned around startled. Behind him stood Bit-bee.
“WOAH! You just appear behind people? Are you a ninja?”
Bit-Bee smiled at him. “Only a quarter, on my mother’s side.”
“Well, hunny” he gave a smirk remembering what she told him to call her a while back. “I have a bit of a problem.”
“Yeah, we heard. The system notifies us when someone says I need a moderator.” She smiled at him, a slightly apologetic smile. He still had no idea that they were actively monitoring the five players. She wasn’t allowed to tell him, but she felt like he should know. But Kelsey had made it abundantly clear that she was not to help him anymore.
“So what is it you needed hunny?” Bit-Bee wasn’t actually allowed to be here, but Kelsey made an exception and let her. Under the understanding that she would not give him any information not available to the others.
“I seemed to have spent all of my unassigned stat points last night. I was in a delirious state and I was wondering if there was any to get them refunded.”
Bit-Bee looked a little bit sad. She sighed. “Well only if you find a special single use item. I’m sorry.” She looked at the ground when she that. “The system is tasked with asking you ten times if you are sure of a character editing decision if it detects your mind isn’t normal. After ten times it will complete the action. The waiver you signed when you sent the application for the game told you that.”
Voice couldn’t believe what he heard.
There is no way to return the points?
Voice was angry. He had a very difficult time concealing his pure rage from Bit-Bee. Tears streamed down his face. He began to shake uncontrollably. If he didn’t expel the energy somehow he would end up killing someone.
“Thanks, never mind then.” Voice left her. He went to the training hall. He needed to vent. The warm ups would be a perfect way to channel his anger. He made it there by running at full speed. He lost an entire 55 stat points!
When he got to the dojo he started doing the training. He had been at it for half an hour but couldn’t calm down. The feeling of anger was too much. He wanted to kill something, but he knew if he did there would be some serious repercussions. He went up to Steve.
“I need you to fight me!”
Steve looked confused, but he unsheathed his wooden sword.
Voice got into a wide stance. His staff was vertical. He swung the top of his staff in a downward arc. He used Sense after initiating the attack, knowing Steve would block it. His ability told him to redirect the butt of his staff towards Steve’s right ribs. Voice stopped the arc and did it. Again he used Sense. Steve was somehow going to block the attack and strike at Voice’s left leg.
Voice changed the angle of the butt of the staff to angle into a pendulum motion in front of him. He heard a satisfying smack as he blocked Steve’s attack. He continued this for several attacks. Each attack was more powerful, more lethal, than the last. Voice just couldn’t manage to hit Steve. Eventually Steve started taking him seriously. He was actually aiming to hit Voice, but Voice managed to block two actual strikes.
Fighting staff wielders was all about timing. Since the masters could flawlessly move from attack to defense you had to know the individual’s weakness beforehand. Voice was taken down on the third strike. It was a simple thrust into his stomach but Steve had a lot of precision and power.
Voice sat down panting. I can’t even beat one fucking npc!? How the hell am I supposed to beat Davros’ champion? FUUUUCK.
When Voice had regained his stamina, and his body didn’t feel so heavy, he got back up. He again got into position o attack. Steve had come over to see if Voice needed help.
“I’m, uh, sorry about that Voice. You had decent attacks out there though. Your form needs a little bit of work though.”
Voice ignored the comment. He readied his staff and began to assault Steve again. The end result was the same. Voice slowly lost his sense during the fight. When he awoke he was laying on the ground covered in water.
He saw many students in the training hall looking at him. “What, what happened?” Voice’s voice shook.
Evan looked at Voice with a surprised yet approving face. “You just went into full rage mode that’s what. You even managed to land a hit on me.”
Voice didn’t believe he landed a hit, but when Steve showed him a red mark on his cheek he started smiling. “Wow that must have been impressive. Too bad I can’t remember it.”
“That’s what battle rage does to you. You gain a lot of strength and endurance, but you also lose a lot of intelligence and willpower while using it.”
Voice decided to see if he actually obtained the ability to use rage.
“Inspect: Battle Rage.”
Battle Rage
For a maximum of (max stamina/10) seconds you enter Battle Rage mode.
While in Battle Rage you lose 50% of your willpower and intelligence, but gain 50you’re your strength and endurance. Battle Rage reduces pain sensors to zero.
When Battle Rage is cancelled or the timer expires, you will lose 10% of your total health. If you have 10% or less health you will die.
“Alright Steve, I need to do some actual fighting practice if I’m going to be fighting for Mar. Can you help me out?”
Voice’s anger was gone. He got a new ability that had actually let him hit Steve. There was no way Davros’ champion would be able to beat him.
Steve looked at Voice. “There’s only so much I can teach you. If you were to stay here for a few days I could at least teach you the basics of staff fighting.”
Voice mulled it over. He knew he needed to at least get the staff skill to apprentice, but at the same time he would need a much higher health pool if the other champion was a decent damage dealer. After mulling it over he made his decision.
“Alright Steve, I want you to train me as quickly as possible. After that I’ll spend the rest of my time power leveling.”
Steve nodded. Since Voice already knew some of the attack forms it would go a lot quicker. Steve was training him faster than any pupil he had ever had. What would normally take months of hard work, Voice seemed to grasp in a matter of minutes. Steve started to get a suspicion that the boy was one of the people the prophecies spoke about.
They had increased learning potential, and seemed to devour all knowledge given to them in any field. It was said that even the lowest amongst them could learn a new skill in a matter of days.
He started training Voice as if he were one of the other-worlders. At that point his training went by very quickly.
Voice was pleased with the speed of his training. It seemed like the more training he got, the quicker he auto read the books. The quicker he auto read the books, the faster his training went. It was an infinite cycle of awesomeness.
Throughout the rest of the day Voice trained his staff skills. He was learning something similar to the shaolin way of staff fighting. Voice had never studied that, but he watched a documentary once for his world cultures class.
Voice had learned to attack pretty well in that one day. He didn’t manage to hit Steve again that night. After Steve had realized that Voice went into Battle Rage, he had prepared himself for it. So even if Voice tried to go in Battle Rage mode he would miss.
Steve showed Voice several of the forms and steps he would take in battle. He also taught him which ones worked best in each scenario. Voice devoured all of the knowledge, he even finished his last two staff fighting books. Although one of the books was about the inventor of staff fighting; how and why he invented it. Voice didn’t care who invented it. He felt it was a waste of time to have read it.
Throughout the training Voice gained two strength, and one endurance. The training had dulled his anger to a dull throb in his heart. It felt so bad he even started feeling liquid ooze down his chest.
Wait, what?
Voice looked down and gaped. A pure black dagger protruded from his heart. He turned around to see who threw it. All he could see was a man in a pure black robe. Steve and the others rushed the man. They rushed him, but when they got into attack range he was no longer there. He had somehow turned into a plume of black smoke and came over to Voice. Voice had fallen to the ground, unable to support his body. He suddenly felt many times heavier than usual. It might have been magic, or it might have been the fact that he was bleeding from his heart.
As he got closer Voice could see the bottom part of his face from under his hood. The robed man smirked. In a deep, sinister voice he heard “So you are the Chosen of Mar? It seems she chose too lightly if you are supposed to beat me.” With a derisive laugh the man changed his left hand into smoke, and put his arm into Voice’s chest. He tore out the dagger and Voice’s heart.
As the world faded to black Voice saw him turn to smoke and start whistling.
…
Voice was back in the house he had created. He sat there stunned for several seconds. He couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. As he thought about it his anger returned.
Not only did I lose 55 points, SOME ASS HOLE KILLED ME!!!?
Voice logged out of the pod. He was restricted from play for one irl day. That meant 5 days game time. He would only have five days until the battle when he logged back on.
Well now I lost a level! I want the points out of wisdom, but NOT LIKE THIS!
Voice spent over two hours bemoaning his situation. The only reason he stopped was that he had an idea.
If that little bastard thinks he can just walk away after angering me he has another thing coming.
Voice started plotting several scenarios of revenge. They were largely dependent on whether that person was an npc or player.
He went about his usual routine after deciding to get revenge. He took a shower and got a bite to eat. He toasted some bread and ate a couple of sandwiches.
He decided to get on his laptop and see what else was going on in the game.
SD and LB had already turned level seventy. EDI was even on the main page of DI. She had apparently been the first to solo a dungeon. The only two people that haven’t posted anything to the forums were Voice and DefiledHealer. Voice decided to change that. He sent an email to Bit-Bee.
/
Hey Bit-Bee, I was wanting to upload some videos to your site. Any idea how I do that?
From Voice.
/
He was surprised by the instant reply he got. He expected a reply email some time that day. Instead the phone started ringing.
He walked over to it. His mom’s friends should all know that she’s out. He answered it.
“Hello? Um, hi. I’m VOi- Brenton. How can I help you?”
He was greeted with the same high pitch voice that gave him his extra skill. “I don’t think you can help me. It’s more like how I can help you. You said you wanted to upload a video?”
Brenton nodded. “Yeah, but I don’t know how.”
She walked him through the process. She seemed to intentionally take longer than needed towards the end.
Voice thanked her for the info and hung up. He got back in his pod. He might not be able to play the game, but he could spend time editing a video of his conquest.
When he got into the pod he said, “Open play files.” In front of his eyes appeared a folder. He motioned to open it. In the folder were ten other folders. Each one was labeled. The labels were in increments of 10% of his play time. Inside each of those were ten videos.
He spent several hours editing the videos. He wasn’t very good at this kind of thing, but the system did most of the work for him.
The video he uploaded showed him donating the first and second batch of super potions. He excluded what they were made of. It then showed him accepting becoming Mar’s Champion, and ended with the dark figure killing him. All in all it looked like an awesome trailer to a game. He decided to add the words ‘Join the Fight Today’ at the end of the clip.
He uploaded the file, then stayed in the pod until it was time to log back in. He had many more hours, but he just felt better being in the pod. He used up some money to get a bike. He rode the bike around his house several times.
He decided to try and earn the money in here to buy some new houses. He wanted it to at least look decent around his house. He wanted it to feel more homely. He chose to stay in cyber space instead of his empty home.
He didn’t really like the feeling of such an empty house. Sure he had been here alone before, but he had always known his mother would be there eventually. Now he didn’t even really know where she was. So he decided to stay in cyber space.
He had very few DI bills left. So he didn’t but any houses at the moment, but he had plans to in the future. He just basically played around for the rest of the day. He did go to sleep for a while in the real world, but after that he did nothing productive.
He went out to buy a burger from this fast food place. When he was there he heard two different groups of people talking about SD and LB. They were apparently trying to beat a level 80 dungeon. SD would take most of the kills and loot, and LB would get the scraps.
Voice might have felt sorry for the tramp if she didn’t run off with ShortDwarf. Voice wanted everyone under his thumb, and if he couldn’t have them they deserved to be killed. He started wondering if the person that killed him was DH. He was the only one that hadn’t posted something. That could have been because he was trying to keep his quest a secret.
For the rest of the day Voice just played around in the white room. When the timer started getting close he went to his walk in closet. The anticipation was building. He wanted to get back to the game so he could power level. He also had a few other plans like getting that light fairy and some sort of damaging spell.
When the doorway lit up he walked through it. He felt disorientation for a moment, then he was back in the town square. He received several notifications.
You have died. For dying you have lost one level. All stats dependent on level have been scaled back. Any stat points you have distributed from the last level have been lost.
He looked at his status screen. He had lost 5 points of wisdom, 10 health, and .1 health regen.
He wasn’t too terribly angry about that as he had planned to power level anyway. He was just upset that he had been so easily killed.
If I had the chainmail already I bet I could have at least lasted a few hits!
Voice was blaming his loss on things out of his control. He didn’t want to take responsibility for his loss.
He still had his staff, so he decided to go hunting immediately. He sent a quick message to Elizabeth, Evan, and Susan telling them he was alright. He then told Heather and Boris to come to him. While he waited for them he grabbed his pot and pan for cooking, and a stack of bandages for healing. The healing spell didn’t seem to level up at all, so he wanted to be able to use bandages while in combat. When they arrived he could see that they were battered. They both had cuts all over their bodies, Boris had a long three clawed scratch that seemed to narrowly avoid taking his left eye out. Heather had a bad limp, and the tip of her left ear was missing.
Voice looked at them with warmth.
My beloved investment seems to be working hard to prove itself.
He patted both of them and healed them. When he was done Heather’s ear still had the chip missing in the top, and Boris still had the scar. They had full health, so he figured the wounds were permanent scarring.
They hunted for two days. They only hunted the demon wolves that spawned. The demon wolves would scale in level the further in the forest they went, just like the other animals, so there was no exp loss for Boris and Voice. In addition to knowing their weaknesses Heather gained a substantial amount of bonus exp from them.
Boris would grab agro, then Voice and Heather would attack the wolves. Voice practiced the stances and attacks he had learned, all while fighting the wolves. He would strike fast, and strike hard. When they would find new opponents he would take one and dodge and block its attacks until he or the wolf started to tire. He would then attack the wolf with all of his strength and speed. He wanted to increase his stats as much as possible so he didn’t rest except to make food and eat. He grew a total of 5 str, 3 agi, and 5 dex. He leveled up his critical strike to level 9, and since he used auto aid a lot he grew it to level 4.
Over the course of the two sleepless days they hunted hundreds of wolves. The meat went immediately to feed the group. Heather had an explosive growth rate recently and would eat everything put in front of her. Boris would eat more than her, but he seemed to only have a bit of growth in size. The meals were wolf stew, wolf steak, wolf cutlets etc.
The pelts and occasional claws or fangs were kept in everyone’s individual inventory. Boris could hold the most, but didn’t have a backpack or anything so his combat ability dropped when he held too much. Heather was the same way.
Voice had planned on spending more time hunting, but he went to drop the loot on Evan. Voice had only leveled up to level fifteen by the time the two days were over. The exp was determined by who dealt the most damage to the enemy, so obviously he wouldn’t get the most. Heather was level twenty two, and Boris was level twenty. The exp needed started to skyrocket after level twenty, or else Heather would be in her early thirties. Voice decided to keep all of his stat points unused. If he were to die it would be good to have a cushion to fall back on stat wise.
When he got to the blacksmith he saw a boy working the bellows.
“Hello son,” Voice said in as pleasant a way as possible. “Do you know a man by the name of Evan?”
The boy pointed with his thumb to the front door. Voice took that to mean Evan was inside. He let himself in and saw Evan sitting with Elizabeth.
When the couple saw him they came over and hugged him. “Guys! Guys! What’s wrong?”
Voice could hardly breathe and wanted to be separated from the asinine couple.
Evan looked at Voice with a ‘what the fuck do you think is wrong’ look. “Nothing, cept you DIED seven days ago. Sure we heard the tales about people from another world being able to revive but after you returned two days ago you didn’t so much as say hi! Only a message. Think how we felt!”
Voice regretted not coming to see them. They were probably worried sick when he didn’t. That meant the intimacy might have dropped. He was worried he wouldn’t be able to get free items.
“Evan, I wanted to come see you and Elizabeth. Really I did, but what was I supposed to do when the fight for the worshippers of Mar is so close?” Voice’s tone was sympathetic at first, then turned to one of slight scolding.
Evan bowed his head. He realized he was being selfish, but he really wanted Voice to at least tell him in person that he was ok.
Voice continued, “Well I have a gift for you.” Voice emptied his inventory on the nearby table. “Two days of wolf demon loot.”
Evan stared at the massive pile of items. There was several stacks of 99 wolf pelts, and at least one stack of 99 claws and teeth each. “How did you get so many?” Evan gasped.
“Two days of nonstop killing. Also I’ll need that armor in two days so I can get used to it.” Voice talked for a while with the couple. Evan had apparently taken on an apprentice since his smithy was doing so well. With all of the pelts Voice had been giving him Evan had made a few tanning racks. He had even bought lessons on how to properly tan the leather. It saved Evan a lot of money having someone help with the forge, and getting the materials for free. After he felt he had satisfied his social obligations with them he left. He went to Susan’s next.
Susan was standing near a desk and a big pot. She looked a lot like a witch stirring her cauldron. She was pouring some bubbling silver liquid into the pot of brown liquid. Voice didn’t bother asking what she was doing. “Hello Susan.” He waited a few moments for her to finish what she was doing. When she was done she looked at him with a gaze you might see a mother give her child the returned after a long absence.
“Hi Voice! I am glad to see you are well. I was really worried when I first heard you had died. AH!” she started pulling something out of a bag near the table she was working at. “I had Evan help me make these!” She showed him the round objects.
“Inspect.”
ExplosiveMaterial QualityLowWork QualityExpertDamage40Durability1/1This weapon is destroyed when enough pressure is exerted on it, such as throwing it against the ground.
This weapon was made by an expert craftsman. This weapon was made by a team of an alchemist and a blacksmith. The very thin layer of iron breaks when thrown. The chemicals and poisons inside interact with the oxygen in the air causing a fiery explosion.
This is a single use item.
Voice started laughing an evil laugh. Susan asked what was wrong.
Voice kissed Susan on the cheek, “NOTHING! Nothing is wrong! You made bombs.” A small fit of laughter caught him. “I can’t believe this game has BOMBS now. Please, never share this recipe with anyone, and tell Evan the same. If we can horde the manufacturing of this we will be able to make SO much money off of it.”
Susan smiled. She wished to let this knowledge benefit the world, but if Voice wanted her to keep it a secret she would. She made sure to buy an empty book and get her enchanter friend to enchant it as she did Susan’s old alchemy book the next day.
She presented Voice with six explosives. She told him, “The first one is based off of the first prototype, so it might not be as good as the next five.”
Voice asked her how it was made. She told him there was an item that was explosive when combined with water. Voice asked if she found it in salt. She nodded in surprise. After a second she continued, wondering how much knowledge he really had.
“There is a poison that can force a person to drown by turning the oxygen in the air to water. I force all of the air out of the iron ball, and filled it with that poison and the explosive item. When the ball breaks” She demonstrated by throwing a ball out of the door. The road had a small crater in it. Voice smiled evilly.
“Yes, Susan you are a genius!” He gave her a quick hug. “Can you make me more of these?”
Susan readily agreed. Voice nodded and went to the mage’s guild to get some offensive spells.

8 113In Danmachi with Plasmids
One chap every Sunday and Tuesday with the possibility of a bonus one on Thursday. Ignore the cover as I am updating this. A man who lost his family due to an accident dies from overwork trying to prove himself to society. He gains a second chance in a parallel world studying and researching for decades in order to find a way to travel to other worlds, only to once again die alone, overworked, alone and bored, achieving nothing. In the end, he achieved power, respect, and fame, but he still wasn't satisfied.Yet destiny has something reserved for this hardworking man. Will he now achieve his dreams in a world of magic and Gods, with a power from another world? Or will he be shunned for being different? If you have a Webnovel account, you can go there and take a look at the chapters. As of right now, there are currently 2 full volumes in there!https://www.webnovel.com/book/in-danmachi-with-plasmids_21297534606119905 I have a Patr30n go take a look! You can access advanced chapters there! And the Discord Server of coursehttps://discord.gg/M8jYGkTjCH The first chap will be more about exposing the world of Bioshock and how Plasmids works and setting up the storyline for the future. The first volume is about world-building, it might seem slow, but it only takes around 15 chapters, the good stuff starts soon after. I am not a writer, I do this for fun and you are reading this for free. The minimum you can do is to just leave a reasonable opinion, please don't hate mail me. Work in progress.Tags:R18- In the medium to far futureSlow romanceSlightly dark protagonistMagicAdventureGore- In some fighting scenesActionGeniusReincarnationFastpaced- At the startAnd more to come if I feel like adding them. I don't own the cover image, the world of Danmachi and Bioshock, or the characters apart from the Ocs. Thank you for reading!
8 282The Chronicles of Shard: Never a Name Spoken
Shard, a world drowned, yet dotted with islands, is set at odds in a war older than memory. One, Lagoon, feels remarkably at peace. With the war far from their shores, they’re free to focus on a greater concern . . . the witch. Imprisoned upon Gabriel’s Tear, a nearby rock jutting from the sea, the witch crooned powerless in all her telepathic fury. Though all were awash with fear, should they wander within range of her all-seeing eye. Bedtime stories were told to keep children in check, lest they be whisked away in the night and devoured. None dared speak her name. Ciroc, a young boy, was soon to be enmeshed in her future . . . and that of the council, who controlled all in an iron grip. Not even Mother Sea could predict the outcome. Woe be to this blue planet. Woe be to this blue marble called Shard.
