On that evening, I was cleaning the office from germs before I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" I said and I saw Seiko, with Komori and Sakusa behind her.
"(Y/N)!" she said as she went to hug me but I dodged it.
"What are you all doing here?" I asked.
"We came here to see you!" Komori said.
"But it's after school, all of you should be home by now" I told them.
"We haven't talked in ages! So please, let us walk with you" Seiko told me.
"Hurry up, I don't want to catch germs in an unknown room" Sakusa said.
"Alright" I said as I picked up a bit of the paperwork that I was going to do at home.
"Are you coming to the training camp? The coach had sent a letter" Seiko asked and I felt everyone turn their gaze on me.
"Yes, the members of the council were desperately trying to convince me to not do any work whilst in the camp" I said while chuckling.
"Wow... you made new friends!" Komori said.
"Compared to last year, you've become more sociable. Though, you're still a germaphobe" Sakusa added, the sudden words from Sakusa made us all surprised.
"Thanks" I said as I started blushing, the night sky covering my red cheeks.
"You should come to the club more, the members miss you and the new years want to play with and against you" Seiko explained and I giggled.
"Sorry for leaving all the work to you" I said.
"It's alright, you help me when you can even though you shouldn't be making yourself more stressed" she told me.
They dropped me off and I waved at them before entering my house to do more work.
"Maybe... she doesn't like me at all" I told the two that were next to me.
"You never know until you try" Seiko said as Komori nodded.
"How do you know she doesn't like you?" Komori asked me.
"But how do you know if she likes me?" I asked.
They both stood there silently before I turned to them.
"I'll be crossing over here, have a good night" I said and then parted ways with them.
I was walking down the road to my house and accidentally bumped into someone.
I grabbed their wrist and pulled them a big towards me.
"Thanks" a familiar female voice said.
"Yuriko?" I asked and she looked at me with widened eyes.
"Sakusa? Oh my god! It's been a long time! How have you been?" she asked me.
"I've been doing good" I said as we started catching up with the other.
"Here's my number" she said as she showed me her screen, I quickly took out my phone and wrote it down.
"You seem upset" she added.
"Well you see, there's this person that I like. But she recently became the president of the student council... so I don't think she has the time for this..." I said.

"Maybe you should move on?" she told me.
"Should I?" I asked.
"If it's hurting you so much... then it's better to let go than hold on to a love that you can't have" she said.
"Maybe you're right, thanks a lot Yuriko" I said as I accidentally grabbed her hand in excitement.
"I'm sorry..." I said as the two of us started blushing.
"I'll walk you home" I said and she shook her head.
"My house is over here" she said while pointing to the building in front of us.
"Alright then, I'm heading off" I said as I continued walking to my house which was three minutes away from here.
When I got home, I started texting Yuriko.
Maybe she'll be able to help me move on...
I suddenly felt my chest tighten out of nowhere.
"This isn't a good feeling..." I mumbled to myself as I finished the last paperwork that was on my desk.
I went to sleep and the same dream started playing.
This time, they were dressed in wedding clothing, walking down the park to the Sakura tree.
They turned around to me before giving me a smirk and started kissing each other right in front of me. I tried to reach out to them but I woke up.
I looked at the clock and it said 4a.m...
I sighed to myself as I got only three hours of sleep.
I went to the kitchen and made myself coffee so I could stay awake for the whole day.
My father came down to the kitchen and saw me awake.
"Another bad dream?" he asked me and I nodded as my hands started shaking of me remembering what happened in it.
"Want a hug?" he asked me and I nodded, soon hugging each other.
"Dad... what happens if the person you love doesn't love you back, but instead loves someone else?" I asked him.
"You have to wish them for the best, and move on" he told me, a sudden tear dropping from my eye.
"Alright..." I said as I sobbed on my dad's shoulder until it was time for me to go to school.
"Are you a hundred percent certain that you want to go to school?" he asked me.
"I can't have the other members doing my work" I told him.
"Alright... if something happens, call me straight away" he said and I nodded.
"Goodbye sweetheart" he added.
"Goodbye dad" I said with a smile on my face.
I got to the office and made myself a cup of coffee so I could relax.
"Hello (Y/N)" Bunko told me as he put down the paperwork he took home yesterday.
"Hello Bunko" I said while turning to me.
"Oh dear" Koya said as he walked into the room with Temiko.
"What's wrong?" I asked them.

"Have you been unable to sleep (Y/N)?" Temiko asked me and I nodded.
"Your eyes are a bit puffy, and you have bags under your eyes" Koya told me and I looked at myself in a nearby mirror.
"Oh gosh, you're right" I told them.
"Maybe you should go home... it'd be bad if you fainted" Bunko said and I shook my head.
"I'll stay here, thanks for worrying about me though" I told them with a smile.
"Alright, but if you need anything, tell us"
"Thanks Koya" I said and we all started with the work in hand again.
"Oh yeah Temiko, can you look at the reports I made last night?" I asked and she nodded.
I gave her the stack of paper and she quickly skimmed read all of the reports.
"They can be used effectively for the projects" she told me as she started organising them, in terms of which club and what they needed.
"Oh yeah, the principal wants to hold a festival by the end of December. And he wants another one to be held in March" Bunko said.
"It can be done" I said as I put a finger on my chin.
"Koya, look into winter festivals" I asked him and he nodded.
"Is the principal free tomorrow morning?" I asked them.
"Hold on, I'll contact the vice principal" Temiko said as she got out a phone and called the vice principal.
"He's free tomorrow morning" she told me.
"Tell her to schedule that slot for a meeting with the principal please" I said and she nodded.
"Koya, will you be able to finish this by 10pm tonight?" I asked him and he nodded.
"I'll email it to you as soon as it gets finished" he told me and I nodded.
I gave a deep sigh as I felt my chest tighten once again.
Could you calm down? I asked my chest in my thoughts.
I took out my phone and started texting Yuriko.
We texted for the whole of break and lunch and decided to meet up after school.
When school finally finished, Seiko and Komori asked me if I could walk home with them and (Y/N) again, but I shook my head.
"Sorry, I promised to meet up with someone" I said, leaving the two of them there with shocked expressions.
I went to the place where I was going to meet Yuriko and we started talking.
We walked to a nearby place to get something to eat and she'd laugh whenever I would use hand sanitiser.
Her laugh is sweet I thought while smiling.
But then I remembered (Y/N)'s laugh.
No matter how much time I spent with Yuriko, (Y/N)'s features would always be on the back of my mind.
We continued to talk for a bit about her university life and she told me all about it.
Eventually, this became a routine. For me and Yuriko to end up meeting up after school and going somewhere to talk. This is mainly because I was tired of third wheeling Komori and Seiko, also (Y/N) being too busy to hang out.
Time went by and it was finally December. I decided to ask Yuriko to come to the festival that the student council had prepared.
She agreed to meet up and she showed up in her clothes.
"Oh right, I need to introduce you to someone" I said as I grabbed Yuriko's hand and dragged her with me to find Komori.
"Kiyoomi!" Komori said and I quickly found him who was next to Seiko.
The two of them widened their eyes as they saw me by Yuriko's hand.
"This is Komori, my cousin" I said as Yuriko became shy.
"My name is... Yuriko... I'm Sakusa's friend" I said.
"Hello, I'm Komori and this is my girlfriend, Seiko" he said while he showed his hand that was intertwined with Seiko's.
"Have you seen (Y/N)?" Seiko asked me and I shook my head.
"Shouldn't she be somewhere, checking that everything is alright?" I said.
"Oh look! Is Koya!" Komori said as he called out to Koya who quickly turned to us.
"How can I help our lovely guests?" he said as he looked at each one of us and soon noticed the grip I had on Yuriko's hand.
"We're looking for (N/N)" Seiko said.
"Oh you mean the lovely (Y/N)?" he asked and she nodded.
The way he said "lovely" made me cringe, but I wasn't in love with her anymore so I let it slip by.
"She should be checking the food stalls, I told her it was a dangerous thing but she kept insisting that she should do it instead of any of us" he said while pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head.
"It's not like she actually listens to us either way" he added.
"Thanks a lot Koya!" Seiko said and Koya gave her a smile in return.
"Are you going to join us, Sakusa?" Komori asked me and I shook my head.
"I need to show Yuriko around, I'll join later." I said and he nodded.
I was checking that the food stalls were in place correctly as I got a really painful sting on my chest.
I looked around and saw Sakusa walking with Yuriko by his side.
"No..." I mumbled to myself.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.

Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.
