《Bloodthirsty(KNJ)》2. Profilers
Advertisement
"Kim Taehyung and Park Jimin, you said?" Nari murmured , still skeptical about the whole thing.
But they were already at the university and the two professors were waiting for them. As soon as Nari had accepted the profiling thing, Soha had called them. They accepted to meet them at lunchtime, so here they were. There was no turning back now.
"Even if you don't believe in what they do, you'll love their personalities," Soha said excitedly as they walked towards the psychology faculty.
"Really? What are their personalities like?"
"They are lovable and very good looking, too."
"Why am I not surprised? You and your love of good-looking men!"
They were now standing in front of a door with "Dr. Kim Taehyung" written on it and Nari couldn't help but think that she'd heard that name before. Where? When?
"Ready?" Soha asked as she was raising her hand to knock on the door. Nari rolled her eyes at her friend and colleague being her usual dramatic self.
"Soha-"
"Here I go," she said before knocking. And the door swung open on a tall, lean, dark-haired young man. A boxy smile appeared on his lips while his big dark eyes went from Soha to Nari, and then back to Soha.
"Hey, detective Cha! Come in!"
Wow, his voice! So deep and manly! A perfect contrast to his innocent expression. When they entered the office, Nari was surprised at how spacious it was. There were two couches facing each other a few feet from the door, with a coffee table between them. Then a huge whiteboard on the wall to their left with a few words written on it.
His huge mahogany desk was far back and full of piles of papers. To their right, there was another desk with coffee cups, coffee machines, and all the ingredients for coffee and tea on it. Under the desk was a mini white fridge in front of which another dark-haired man was squatting.
When he heard the door closing, he got up and he had 4 bottles of juice in his hands. The first thing Nari noticed was his full lips and his gentle eyes. Then he smiled and she felt herself blushing at how adorable he looked. She'd always thought that Jungkook was the most adorable boy ever... until now.
"Hello, I'm Kim Taehyung," said the man who opened the door as he extended his hand.
"Park Nari."
She shook his hand and he asked them to take a seat. The other man joined them and introduced himself as Park Jimin. He gave them the drinks and sat next to Taehyung. They exchanged a few words with Soha and she gave them the file of the case. They both looked at it for a few minutes, then they talked among themselves for a while.
Taehyung then started talking and Nari did her best to focus on what he was saying instead of his deep, beautiful voice. Almost as beautiful as NamJoon's. She always found his voice soothing, or even sexy, especially when he sang. She wondered what he was doing right now.

No, focus Nari!
The first thing she noticed - well, after the fact that they looked mad good - was the way they reacted to her. Even though she was born and raised in Korea, most people still looked at her as a strange specimen when they met her for the first time, because she was biracial. Her mom was black and her father was Korean. Her skin was more on the darker side, her hair was big and curly, and she had clear green eyes.
Aside from that, she was a pretty normal-looking woman. Well, as normal as she could be compared to the way everyone else looked around her. But the two professors or doctors or whatever they were didn't react like everyone else. They treated her like a normal person. And she liked them so far. However, what they were saying...
"So you're saying our killer is male, around our age, and is attractive?"
Jimin and Taehyung nodded in the same movement and Jimin smiled at Nari. Taehyung noticed and slapped him on the back of his head.
"Stop flirting with the detective, she is out of your league" he murmured to him, not so quietly.
"Shut up, you idiot! And I wasn't flirting."
Nari raised her eyebrows at them and Soha giggled. These two really had two PhDs? How? They were so strange. At times, they would act and speak so smart and professional, and next thing you know, they became chaotic.
Nari almost laughed when they ended up debating on whether the killer would be taller than Jimin or not while trying to describe him. They were so cute. She wished she'd met them under other circumstances. It would have been fun to hang out with them.
"Uh, guys?"
They turned their attention back to the two women and got back to being serious again.
"What makes you think that he or she is-"
"It's definitely a he. First, his choice of victims, second, the way he kills. He gains sexual satisfaction from it. A woman wouldn't proceed like this." Taehyung explained.
"He makes them bleed to death, but you never saw any drop of blood at the crime scene, right?" Jimin asked.
"Well, I wouldn't say crime scene, since he obviously kills them somewhere else and dumps the bodies in the open for us to find," Nari corrected.
"Right, and he probably keeps the blood as a trophy. Actually, I'm sure of it. Another thing, he thinks of himself as an artist ." Jimin says.
"Why do you think that?" Nari asked.
Jimin and Taehyung exchanged a look, then Jimin sat up and pointed at the picture of one of the victims.
"See how the body looks? What do you notice first?"
"It's clean."
"Exactly. No cut, no dirt, nothing. She is a work of art, his work of art so he chooses carefully which part of the body to cut to make her bleed. Ah, and he is a sweet talker and good-looking as well. None of them shows any sign of resistance. He made them do whatever he wanted, willingly. Meaning"
Nari watched Jimin for a moment, then looked at the pictures again. She was still skeptical for some reason. Although, the two adorable professors were making sense. There was no bruise on the bodies, no marks, except for the hole the killer made in order to make them bleed. He did so slowly. They saw their death coming and they couldn't do anything about it.

What a cruel bastard!
"Also..." Taehyung started, his fingers on his chin, as he was still looking at the pictures. He seemed lost in his thoughts. He took one of the pictures and looked at it closely as he sat back on the couch and crossed his long legs.
"I wonder how much time he spent with each victim since he watched them bleed to death before ditching the bodies."
Nari sighed. "What are you getting at?"
"I would say a few days," Soha said, ignoring her colleague.
"A few days, huh," Taehyung murmured more to himself than to the three others in the room.
"He took his time with each victim because he knew he wouldn't get caught. This guy is very organized. I think he has killed before." Said Jimin with a frown.
"That's exactly what I was thinking!" Taehyung exclaimed as he sat up, his eyes were now as big as two full moons. "There are more victims than you guys know of. Maybe you should start looking into similar cases? Women who disappeared in the past, matching the description of the victims."
"And don't limit your search to Seoul or just Korea. If he works in a field that requires moving around, then he might have killed wherever he went."
"More victims?" Nari whispered, horrified.
"That's for certain. He practiced for a long time to get this good and confident. There are more victims."
"And the more victims you'll find, the better. As the victims appear, I'm sure you'll find more details about how long he keeps them, the time frame between each murder, and how long he's been active. It'll make it easier for us to narrow down the profile."
After their meeting with the profilers, Nari and Soha decided to go ahead with what they suggested: looking for more victims. However, convincing their superiors that it made sense was another story.
They had been in senior superintendent Min's office for half an hour, but he still wouldn't budge. He was lazily sitting behind his desk, looking at them like they were some annoying nuisance he couldn't wait to get rid of. His dark hair made his skin look even paler than usual.
Nari always thought that he was too young to be in such a position in the police, but when she heard that his father was the commissioner-general, it all made sense. Connections were everything in South Korea, and she would know. After all, it was her father's weapon. He used those damned connections to prevent her from entering the police academy, after all. If she had given up at the time, she would be working as a director at one of his companies right now.
She tried to focus on her young boss and let go of her dark memories. There were more pressing matters to take care of right now.
" Sir-"
"Detective Park, I hate to repeat myself and you know that." He said slowly in his hoarse voice as if talking was too much of an effort for him.
"Just for a few days," Nari begged.
"2 weeks. And if there is still no lead, we'll do as you say." Soha added.
He looked at both of them with his cat-like eyes, and his expression was unreadable. He was so scary at times. He was hard to read, too. He never smiled at anyone ever since he was appointed, but he never made trouble either. Strange, huh? Every time someone made a mistake, he fixed it. When they needed something, he provided it. He did his job correctly. Everyone assumed that his connections got him here, but he did work. It's just that... he rested a lot as well.
He slid his fingers through his dark curls and sighed. Nari saw a couple of earrings in his ears, which surprised her. This was the first time she saw them. Hum, interesting.
"Detective Park is always the one to put your team in weird situations, but why do I feel like today's chaos started with you, detective Cha?"
Nari looked at him with big eyes and Soha grimaced. How dared he? She never caused any trouble... Aside from the time a government official almost sued them because she arrested his son without a warrant. Or the time when an heiress abused an employee in front of her and she grabbed her and made her bow in front of the employee as an apology or the time when-
Okay, fine she wasn't an exemplary cop. But still, he didn't have to put it like that.
"To be honest, I don't believe in this profiling shit."
One thing we have in common.
"But I'll give you until the end of the day. Find at least three similar cases, then I'll let you follow that lead."
The end of the day?! Is he crazy? It's 3 PM, for God's sake! How are we supposed to find cases, compare them to what we already have, and make a conclusion in such a short time? Why didn't he refuse instead?
"I don't thin-" Nari started, but she was interrupted by her colleague.
"That's fine. Thank you, sir."
Soha bowed and grabbed Nari's hand before dragging her outside.
"Will we be okay? It's just a few hours."
"We don't have a choice, Nari. We have to work with what we have."
They briefed the rest of the team and everyone got to work right away.
Nari was worried at first about the short time superintendent Min gave them. But three hours into their investigation and they already found out 5 cases that shared strange similarities with their case. The bodies were emptied of their blood, clean, and they were young and beautiful female college students. But there was something else. Something Nari and her team never thought of even though it was obvious.
None of them was sexually assaulted, but they were wearing sexy lingerie under their clothes.
This bastard was a pervert as well.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
