"What are you doing?" She said, looking at him in shock. "What if someone recognizes you?"

This time, there was panic in her voice, but he just looked at her and smiled. God, she was so cute. He touched her jaw and leaned towards her, his brown eyes meeting her green ones.

"Let's have a date today."

"Huh?!"

"I said-"

"I heard what you said!"

She pushed his hand away and gave him a dark look.

"Kim Namjoon, please don't get me in trouble."

He rolled his eyes.

There she goes again.

"Look, I have a case I'm working on right now so I can't just play with you, sorry."

"Why not? I like it when you play with me, baby." He said with a smirk.

"Don't be a pervert." She mumbled as she started blushing.

He had a small laugh before taking her hand into his. They kept walking in silence while sipping on their coffee. The weather was nice that day and Namjoon wished he could spend the whole day with his best friend, but she was on duty. Plus, the case she was working on seemed dangerous. He was worried.

"Is it the serial murder case? How is it called again... the vampire killer, right?"

"Don't call him that. I hate when people give nicknames to these psychos, it gives them power."

"Ok, ma'am!"

"And you shouldn't worry about that, we'll catch him soon."

"I hope so. I want to see more of you, I've missed you."

"I've missed you too, Joonie, but I really have to focus on closing this case..."

He grinned at those words and pulled her into his arms.

"I understand, but it's too bad. I was really looking forward to spending time with you. I'm going on tour again soon, so I was really hoping to see you more this time. Please make some time for me?"

"Aww Joonie, of course, I will. I'll take the afternoon off tomorrow so we can spend it together." He let her go and looked at her face with an even bigger grin.

"Promise?"

He looked so excited! Just like a child who just got his favorite candy handed to him. And it warmed her heart. He was such a man child sometimes and she liked that about him.

Park Nari and Kim Namjoon were childhood friends and they were very close, but ever since Namjoon became an idol, they didn't see each other as often as they used to. Especially since he had become an international sensation.

Every time he was back in town, she was caught up in between cases, and every time she had some time to breathe, he was in between fan signs, video shoots, or studio sessions. Hopefully, his agency would slow down a little with his schedule so he could spend some more time at home soon.

She smiled and poked one of his dimples.

"Promise." She said.

He hugged her again and bid her goodbye before leaving. She watched him leave with a smile on her face. She missed him so much! Unfortunately, she had too much work to do right now. And that was the cue for her phone to start buzzing again. She looked at the caller ID and sighed.

"I'm on my way", she said into the phone before hanging up and walking back to the precinct.

She had been working on this case for a few weeks now, and they were at the third murder. All females, between ages 21 and 28, pretty, students, coming from working-class families. Everyone said the same about them: hardworking, good student, smart, normal life. And so far, that's all they had in common. Nari and her team had been looking for leads, but still nothing.

The media was going crazy about it, coming up with hundreds of theories and who the killer might be. They were the ones who gave him the name "the vampire killer" because the victims were found with very little blood in their veins. This a*hole let them bleed to death.

When she entered the precinct, it was in the same state as when she left: in chaos. She was walking towards her desk, when her partner held her hand abruptly, making her jump in surprise.

"Nari, I think we need a profiler." She murmured as if they were sharing an important secret.

Nari frowned at Soha and looked around before asking "why?" in the same tone.

Soha let her go and turned around. "Follow me", she said as she started walking.

She led Nari to an empty break room and closed the door behind her. She then turned around to face her partner. She seemed nervous and tired. She looked like someone who hadn't slept in days, and that was probably the case.

Everyone looked like that, at that moment. Even Nari herself! To think that Namjoon saw her in this state... But he was just her best friend, so that was okay. But if it was Jin... She shook herself internally for thinking about her crush at a time like this. She needed to focus on what Soha had to say.

"I think we're missing something, and profiling the murderer might help."

"Soha, you know how I feel about profiling-"

"But it works! It helped a lot of investigators before. Look, let's just give it a try okay? We'll talk to the profilers, just the two of us and if you still think it's bullshit, I'll leave it alone."

Nari thought about it for a moment. It's true that they didn't have anything to lose by trying profiling, but she was scared of it clouding her judgment. Plus, it wasn't reliable at 100%. She considered it a gamble. But Soha wanted it so much, too. She had been pestering her about it for weeks. And it wasn't the first case in which she brought it up either.

Nari sighed for probably the hundredth time that day and ran her fingers through her curly dark hair.

"Fine let's do it, let's meet your profiler friends."

A/N: the first chapter is a bit short, but don't worry guys. The chapters will get longer.
