《BREATHE》*four*

"Mal, hurry up", Amethyst told her fiance. "Don't rush me", he replied while squeezing up his face. They were both exiting out the car to walk into the hospital. Amethyst and Malachite were going to the hospital to do a pregnancy test.
Mal didn't feel the need to go because he already knew that she was pregnant. According to him, "his sperm don't miss". Amethyst on the other hand was dreading the pregnancy, if she had her way she would not have the child at all.
They sat in the waiting room, Mal on his phone while Amethyst read a magazine. "Amethyst Lily", her doctor called her to the office.
Mal held her hand as they both walked into the doctor's office. The female doctor cleaned the hospital bed before gesturing for her to take a seat on it.
"Is this the father", the doctor questioned as she rubbed the ointment on her belly.
"Yea I am", Mal confirmed for the doctor. The doctor nodded as she pulled the sonogram up on the screen.
"Okay so this is your baby. We should be able to find out the gender in a few weeks." She clicked the screen before zooming in, "Wait, congratulations. It seems like you're having twins".
"Twins, like two of em", Mal confirms. "Yes, would you like to hear the heartbeat?"
"Yes please", Amethyst replied with a strained smile. Mal looked at her with a tight look. He honestly didn't understand what was up with her. For some reason she wasn't as happy as he was for the babies.
The sound of the baby's heartbeat played and Mal was brought to tears. To him that was his biggest achievement, having his first child. He rubbed Amethyst's belly before kissing her saying, "My baby is having a baby".

The doctor then opened her folder asking, "I also also have the list of the second choices that you asked for".
Mal snapped his his head towards Amethyst, "The fuck is she talking bout".
The doctor eyed both of them with a look before saying, "I'm just going to step out so the two of you can talk". The minute the door closed behind her Mal grabbed Amethyst's wrist.
"Imma need you to explain, cause her white ass just said you wanna kill my seed?"
"You are dangerous to be around. We can barely drive out without a shootout happening. I want my children to grow up with her parents. I want my children to grow up, not die early", Amethyst cried.
Her reasoning hit close to home. Amethyst's dad used to be a kingpin. Unfortunately both him and his wife, her mother, died in a targeted car crash. Luckily Amethyst was not in the car at the time seeing that she was in college.
Everyone wants to participate in gang activities because they think it's cute or trendy. But it has the constant death threats, shoot outs, robberies. It's not easy at all. Most people who are gangs come out dead or in jail. And of course there is the constant risk of losing your family members.
The mental pain that she went through after losing her parents is something that she won't wish on her worst enemies. She promised herself to not get into a relationship with anyone involved with gangs. But you can't help who you fall in love with, after all only God has control over that.
Amethyst found herself engaged to the type of man she vowed against being with. She wants to live long. She wants to see her children grow. But she knows if Mal doesn't get out of his lifestyle that won't be possible.

8 136Silver, Sand, and Silken Wings
In the opinion of the common storyteller, Sylph did not exist. Frustrated and deceived by her mothers hiding the truth of her parentage, young dragoness Sylph heads out looking for answers along with a childhood friend, a young human alchemist. From the sky high walls of Carthia, through the winding, lively streets of Halfhill, her journey leads her all the way up north to the picturesque nightmare of snow where she hatched. And yet, the answers lie buried in the desert sand on the other side of the continent. In a world of cruel slave traders and a ruthless, self-proclaimed queen, Sylph uncovers the answers she seeks and realizes her grave mistake of ever leaving home. A singular misstep in the hostile city means death, or worse, and the guards are hot on her haunches after blundering her way through the gates. The draft for this work is finished. I am editing the chapters and putting them up. Updates every 14 days because I am tangled up in work.
8 236Technically Sentient
Technically Sentient is the uncomfortable answer to the Fermi Paradox: bureaucratic inertia. There's also a shark cop in there too. And a human meat tank and a bunch of greys down on their luck and a viral bioengineered killing machine and a T-posing AI and a cat. But they're not important, in the grand scheme of things.
