《Bad is an Understatement | ✓》Chapter 7

"What was that all about?" I groan asking Luke.
"What?"
"You two. What's wrong with you two?" I ask emphasizing two each time.
"Oh that." I nod like a bobble head." Nothing. I actually don't know, we've just never got along."
"Okay..." I say unassured. I know there's way more, but I'm not going to push it.
"Do you want me to drive you back to the dorm?" Luke asks. I look at the time. Three forty four.
"Yeah, it would be very much appreciated actually."
"Haha," he chuckles," Let's go then, your highness." He winks. I laugh and we walk to his car, or may I say an effing Ferrari.
"That's your car?"
"Yup. I mean my dad's I'm just borrowing it for as long as I stay at campus."
"Oh." We both get in and he drives us home. We stop at Ricardo's again, because it's his favourite restaurant too. That place is really famous. We ate tacos and talked more. I found out that he has two older sisters. One of them has two kids, and the other one is traveling the world with her boyfriend. He didn't really seem suspicious like he was lying about anything, but he just doesn't feel right to me. And even Heath knows.
We were now sitting outside of the girls dorm in his car. "Thanks for taking me out for dinner and driving me home."
"Yeah no problem. Do you wanna hang out some other time?"
"Um, you're a great guy and all Luke, but with what happened today between Heath and you I just don't want to get in the middle of it. I just think it's best that we don't really hang out much just for a while. And it's not because Heath told me to."
"Yah, no it's totally fine I get it. If it were me in yourself place, I wouldn't wanna get in between anyone either. Enjoy the rest of your day."
"I will." I smile and get out of the car." Bye." He waves as he drives off.
I make my way into the dorm and up to my room. I drop my bag, and flop down on the bed exhausted by the events of today.
I take out my phone. I see that there were eighty two unread messages. I keep them unread, because most of them were from Jen, Kylie and unknown numbers. From reading the notification bar they were all based on the same subject; Where are you? You're so stupid. Why are you with that kid? I got tired of reading them so I just messaged Jen telling her I'm at the dorm, and that I've already ate.

Since I have nothing else to do, I take a quick warm shower. I change into my practice clothes. Practice was going to start in an hour, and I'm not planning on going anywhere else.
I take out my credit card remembering that I still have to activate it. I dial the number and follow the procedure the machine tells me.
Soon it's six forty five, I grab my duffle bag making my way to the gym.
The hallways were ghostly as I walked through them. Peacefully walking down one of the halls, I get yanked into the janitor's closet by my arm and slammed into a wall. Shoot! This is getting old. Just by the grip I could tell who it was, so I don't bother trying to loosen it even though it was stopping the flow of my blood.
"Heath you seriously need to stop doing this. It's getting old." I sigh calmly.
"Hey, princess how was the day with Luke?"
"Fun actually. I don't even regret a second of it." I bite my lip.
"That's nice, but let me just warn you. When I tell you that something is dangerous, and to stay away from it. Then you do as you're told, or else you might get hurt."
"What's with all the caring Romeo? It might start affecting your big ego. And by the way, like I told you before I can take care of myself. I agreed to pranking you not listening to your commands. I'm not your bitch."
He leans in closer to my ear and his breath trails down my neck," But we all know that's all you want to be." He lightly kisses my neck.
I feel pure bitterness in me. How dare he say that. "You're going to regret your words." I say to a smirking Heath. I slide my hand down against the wall and when they're low enough I roll my wrists around. Since Heath doesn't follow along, mostly because he can't, his grip loosens.
Swollen lip or a black eye? I think to myself. I push him against the wall while he's still shocked and decide to punch him right in the lip. "Fuck!" He groans.
"Yeah, go fuck yourself." I say. I grab my duffle bag which fell on the ground, and pull it over my shoulder," Since you don't like doing your homework. Let me answer one of your questions for you. You're probably wondering how I did that, well you might be happy to know that I'm a black belt in karate." I open the door and slam it shut behind me not stopping, or turning around to see his expression.

I'm not lying I'm actually a black belt in karate. I also know kickboxing. I used to keep some money from my payment before I gave it to my dad to pay for the lessons and they surely paid off. I also have many other skills that Heath should wish he never sees. He doesn't want to become my practice dummy.
I walk into the gym, change my shoes and start shooting. I was the first one there and the rest of the gym was empty. At least the ball isn't flat. I smile and practice shooting.
*********
Practice again, was a lot of endurance, but coach split us up into teams of six each with one sub. On my team I had Kat and so we won thirty to twenty five against Kirsten's team. She was a sore loser, but I didn't let that affect me.
Heath's grip was so tight it left marks on both of my wrists. I got questioned by everyone specially Kat she would not get off my case, so I told her what happened. And her only response was 'cute'. How is him annoying me cute?! This is like physical abuse. We argued about that which caused us ten sets of suicides, we got glares from everyone on the team. I sheepishly told them to suck it up, and that basketball is all about running.
I open the door to my room," Ow! What was that for?!" I ask Jen who violently threw a pillow at my face.
"You left without telling us, and then you didn't reply to any of our messages! What if you died, huh? What were we supposed to do?!"
"Okay mom. I'm not dead. I'll remember to tell you next time." Jen glares at me. "And you sent Heath after me. Obviously I wasn't going to come back."
"Why were you with Luke?"
"Why do you care? Even Heath acted all weird because of him. What's up with that?"
"I don't know much. All I know is that him and his family are dangerous, and Heath has hated them for as long as I can remember."
"I'm not going to stop being friends with someone because of some rumours Jen. And you don't even have to worry. I kind of told him to back off, because I just don't want to get in between their feud. I just don't want them fighting over me in any case." Jen nods.
"I get it. I'm sorry I shouldn't have reacted like that."
"No you were just worried and I'm sorry for not telling you. Heath just got on my nerves. Like a lot."
"Yeah he does that. Try being his sister." She says.
"Noooo thanks." I say putting my hands up.
"What happened to your wrists?"
"Heath."
"What the?" She comes closer to look at my wrists. I feel a sudden pinch of pain and wince when she touches them. "I'm going to kill him." She says murderously.
"It's fine I gave him a swollen lip." I smirk.
"That must've hurt." She says.
"Probably I am a black belt." I wink while smirking.
"You are?!"
"Yup."
"No one's ever going to mess with you." We both laugh.
"I have computer science tomorrow at twelve." I end yawning.
"I have English and accounting class tomorrow at eight then three."
"Okay we should get to bed then it's like ten."
"You sound like old people." Jen laughs.
"I know, but I'm tired." I grab my night clothes and head to the bathroom to change.
I come outside to see Jen already passed out. I laugh, because she was the one who said I sounded like an old person. Now she's the one already sound asleep. I put my other clothes in the laundry basket, and head into bed after applying some ointment to my sore wrists.
Boys. Ugh!
