《the human (r.h)》thirty four; these boots are made for walking

"These violent delights have violent ends,
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as their kiss did consume." Delilah had perched herself on one of the many trees in the Cullens back garden, she had guessed this would be where the wedding would be, and by no surprise she was right.
The Cullens were very predictable.
And as she watched the happy couple kiss under the white flowers, she couldn't help but let the words of Shakespeare flow from her lips.
"..thus with a kiss I die." She spoke as she watched the vampire and human seal their marriage as their lips met. A part of Delilah felt the quote to be fitting, with the kiss Isabella was sealing her fate. She would become a vampire to the supernatural world, but to the human world. She would be dead.
For a few seconds, Delilah envied Isabella. For those without a choice were always jealous of those with. Delilah had lost her sense of freewill, her God was no longer a man in the sky with infinite power and wisdom, but a man who sat upon a throne made of fear.
When she was human, Delilah never understand why Rosalie hated Bella so much. But now she perfectly understood. Bella had a choice in everything she did. Delilah did not, and neither did Rosalie. It may have taken a while for her to realise, but it was so obvious now.
Isabella had a choice on if she would involve Delilah in the vampire world that day on the doorstep.
She chose for Delilah. She took away her free will that day, and sealed her fate.
As the brunette felt her anger bubble up in her, she moved her eyes to Rosalie. Somehow all of the sour feelings melt away.
She looked beautiful. It was as if Rosalie was the only girl that had ever existed. "Shall I compare thee to a summers day?" Delilah almost giggled at her words, not even human her would quote Shakespeare like this, "Thou art more lovely and more temperature...." Was Delilah's love for Rosalie hot like a Summers day? She wasn't sure anymore.
There were definitely feelings there. The two hadn't even properly spoken in months and yet Delilah fell asleep to the thought of Rosalie's lips. She craved to feel them just one more time. However, she wasn't sure if she could do that to herself. Rosalie had hurt her more than anyone else ever had, Delilah felt as though she owed it to her human self to stay away from Rosalie. But that was easier said than done.
And as Delilah's now brown eyes followed the movements of the blonde, she couldn't help but feel her frozen blood run cold at the sight of her talking to three very familiar people.
Maya George looked beautiful. She was wearing a pink pantsuit that complimented her perfectly. Delilah could hardly believe her sister was wearing any colour but black. She could also hardly believe the girl was here.
"Are you shitting me?" She spoke out loud, unbothered by the paranoid thought of any of the vampires picking up on her voice. She knew she'd manipulated them into not being able to hear her. "Did they actually-?" Delilah's words trailed off.
She could hardly contain the anger that she was feeling. The very people who had taken her life away had invited the people she loved the most to their wedding. Not only that but they'd surrounded them with vampires, they very things that killed Delilah.
The brunette wanted to scream. She wanted to jump down from the tree and snap the necks of everyone down there.

But even more than that, Delilah wanted to wrap her arms around Maya's neck and just feel her warm body once more. She wanted to smell the mango shampoo she used, she wanted to feel her breath on her neck and to hear her laugh in her ear.
She wanted to do everything that Isabella was doing now.
Delilah was sure she could feel tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, but they would not fall, they would never fall.
There used to be a time when Delilah George was the envied, but she never envied. But now as she gazed down upon Isabella Swan, she realised that she did now envy. She wished to be the girl in white terribly.
It wasn't fair.
Delilah wanted to be the one in the wedding dress getting married to Rosalie in front of all their loved ones. She wanted to be the one to giggling with Maya right now. And she wanted to be the one that was happy.
So in that moment Delilah made a decision. She could either sit here in this tree and observe the wedding like Cauis wanted her to, and she could stay out of trouble like Jane wanted her to. Or she could have a little fun of her own.
And she knew what she would rather do.
So as soon as Delilah saw Isabella slip inside the house by herself, she knew it was now or never. There might not be another opportunity like this, so Delilah had to take it.
It wasn't hard for her to jump from tree to tree, however it was hard for her to use so much power in making sure she wouldn't be discovered by any of the vampires or wolves in attendance. That part was all rather draining, but hopefully it would be worth it.
As soon as Delilah's feet hit the brown wooden floor, she felt the overwhelming sensation of memories. She'd been here so many times before, and she could remember it all so perfectly. No matter how hard she tried to forget it, she just couldn't.
'Giggles filled the house as Delilah ran through the living room, a large figure following after her. He could easily catch her if he tried, but where would the fun be in that? The game would be over in seconds, whereas it was now bordering on hours.
"Come on, Emmett! I thought you were fast."
The brunette nearly tripped over her feet as she turned her head to look at Emmett. She could walk perfectly with heels on, but the second she took them off it was like her feet forgot how the stay in their own lanes.
Alice and Jasper laughed as the golden haired boy reached a hand out to stop the girl from falling. He was enjoying the energy radiating from Delilah right now, he didn't want the game to be over because she'd broken her nose or something. "You're welcome."
Delilah felt her stomach flutter at the smirk on Jasper's face, she wasn't into dudes, but god would she let Jasper spit on her right now. "Thanks," She squealed before starting her running again, "But I have to dash."
Emmett had nearly caught up to Delilah, and she couldn't let that happen. She couldn't let anyone win. She was the only winner here.
"Be careful, Delilah!" Esme shouted from the kitchen as she started making the girl some food. Delilah had been complaining that she fancied some crunchy tacos, so of course Esme had to make her some.
"It's fine!" The smiling girl shouted back, she hadn't felt this carefree in a long time. "You're husbands a doctor." She didn't want the game to stop. It wasn't often that Delilah got to act like a child, in a lot of ways she felt like she was forced to grow up to quickly, forced to be something she didn't want to be by her family.

But by just messing about with Emmett now, she felt as though she was reliving all the years she missed.
Only a few seconds after Delilah had assured Esme she would be fine, was she hit by a very familiar chest, "Yes," Rosalie smirked as she wrapped her arms around Delilah's waist, for once not bothered that some of her family could see her being affectionate, "But her children are also vampires."
Delilah rolled her eyes, before placing her arms around Rosalie's neck. For once also forgetting about her mean girl facade. Right now she just wanted to be a teenager in love. "What could a few vampires possibly do to me?" The brunette giggled, "Do you know who I am?"
Before Rosalie could reply to the girl she had fallen for, the pair of them were scooped up into two rather large arms, "Gotcha." Emmett laughed as he looked up at the two.
And for the rest of the day, no matter how hard Emmett said that he caught Delilah in the end. It was Rosalie who claimed she was the real winner. For she said she had caught the biggest catch.'
Delilah almost laughed at the memory. How stupid did she sound? The irony in some of her words, 'What could a few vampires possibly do to me?' Oh past Delilah, you didn't know the half of it.
She seemed so innocent then, even though most would argue she was not. But she wasn't truly exposed to the horrors of the world at that point. At that moment in time she believed that she could be the one wearing the white wedding dress and she could finally be happy.
But all of that had been taken away from her, and she blamed Isabella Swan and her little cult.
So as the overwhelming sadness melted away, the overwhelming feeling of anger took its place, and Delilah set on her way to find the blushing bride.
Not that it was hard to find Isabella, she could hear the girl flushing the toilet. Which caused Delilah to wait outside the white door. It didn't take long for it to open, Isabella didn't notice her at first, she was too busy sorting out the bottom of her dress. But as soon as she looked up, the girl jumped a mile.
It was almost terrifying the way the smirk grew on Delilah's face, "Surprise."
For a second, when Bella looked into Lilah's eyes, she thought that it was her again- because they were back to her normal brown. But the smirk on her face told the human that this wasn't her Delilah. "Wha-what....are you doing here?"
The smirk dropped from Delilah's face at Bella's shaky voice, a pout formed on her lips instead as she reached a soft hand out and placed it on Bella's pale face. "Aren't you happy to see me?"
"I-I-"
"-I don't scare you do I, Bella? It's only me, your Lilah." The brunette knew what she was doing, and she was having so much fun doing it, "I don't want to scare you," She did, "I just wanted to say congratulations to my best friend....I can't believe you didn't invite me."
The girl was petrified, she wasn't sure what to do. She couldn't scream, if she did she was sure something bad would happen. But maybe something bad would happen if she didn't scream, "I wanted to," Her voice was even more shaky now, "But Edward wouldn't let me."
"That's not very nice is it?" Bella shook her head, "Silly, silly Edward. He never was very bright."
"I'm happy to see you, Lilah." Maybe Bella could kill Delilah with kindness. "I'm really sorry you couldn't come."
A smile appeared on Delilah's face, but there was no kindness in it. "Are you?" Excitement danced behind her eyes as she moved her hand from Bella's cheek and forcefully grabbed both sides of her face, as she pulled out a small knife she carried in her back pocket. "Why don't you show me how sorry you really are?"
Isabella was confused, but the confusion was overtaken by terror. Somehow the vampire had moved behind the bride and pulled her against her front, the knife harshly pressed against Isabella's throat. "Don't move, we don't want to get blood on your pretty little dress." She whispered into her ear. It wasn't long before multiple pairs of footsteps could be heard running up the stairs, causing Delilah's smirk to only grow wider, "Show time."
Delilah had used her powers of manipulation to mask her scent and silence her voice, but a few seconds ago she thought it was the perfect time to drop the gift and let everyone know about her presence.
Edward Cullen was the first to reach the bathroom, he peered through the open door to find the most terrifying scene he had ever seen. "Bella." He moved towards the two girls, wanting to save his new wife.
"Ah ah ah," Delilah pulled Isabella tighter to her, "Ever heard of personal space?"
"Yes." Edward growled out as he felt his family join him, "You're invading my wife's."
Delilah didn't even blink at the words, "Congratulations by the way. I can't tell you how happy this marriage makes me," Again, pout appeared on Delilah's lips, "But I have to say, when Isabella told me you didn't want me here, it hurt my feelings."
If looks could kill, Delilah would be six feet under because of the ones she was receiving from Edward, "I didn't want-"
"-hey you guys!" Delilah laughed as she looked at all the family behind Edward, "Don't you all look beautiful! If I knew we were going for a nature vibe I would have wore something other than black," The girl then laughed, "No I wouldn't have."
Carlisle Cullen moved to stand next to Edward, placing his hand on his shoulder as Delilah watched the doctors every move, "Delilah, why don't we have a talk?"
The brunette blinked at the man before moving her eyes to her favourite person, "Rosalie," This time a genuine smile made its way onto her face, "You look amazing," When she realised where she was, the smile disappeared, "Doesn't she look amazing, Bella?"
Rosalie wasn't sure what to do as she watched the sight in front of her. This wasn't the Delilah she knew, but she couldn't say that it made her love her any less. This was just the Delilah they had caused her to be, Rosalie knew that.
And a part of her was also a little turned on at the sight.
"Delilah-" Alice started, she too didn't blame Delilah for her actions. She was angry and she had a right to be.
"If I were to slit Bella's throat now you wouldn't be able to save her, you know that right? It takes maybe a minute to die if your jugular gets sliced." Delilah made the motion across Bella's neck, but didn't apply any pressure, "I could do it. It would be so easy." Delilah looked into the eyes of Edward, "It would probably hurt you more than Isabella. I know you wouldn't be able to avenge her, you wouldn't be able to kill me." Only because he already had, "So you'd beg us to kill you. You'd beg Aro to end your misery. Then when he hands you over to me, you'd beg at my feet for mercy. To make it painless." Delilah smiled, "And only when you couldn't beg anymkre would I cast you out. Force you to live a life of torture and hell."
Delilah would be the first to admit she was acting like a psychopath, but it was only for her to admit. "You're a psycho." Olivia Cullen spat out.
Delilah titled her head at the girl she once respected, "Don't you know that you should never call a psychopath a psychopath?" She then looked back at Edward, "There's nothing I want more than to finish what Victoria started." As the Cullens watched with close eyes for Delilah's next move, she kept her hand against Bella's neck, before moving in and placing a kiss against the trembling girls cheek. "Remember this. I could kill you right now if I wanted to." She did really did want to, "Consider this my gift to you." She whispered, making it so even the advanced hearing of the Cullens couldn't hear her.
"Thank you." Isabella whispered back, really meaning it when she said it.
Then Delilah pushed Isabella away from her, making sure the human landed with a thud on the floor. She then smiled before walking in between the family members and past them. She wasn't scared of them grabbing her, they wouldn't. They were too smart for that, no matter how angry they were. The Volturi would come after them if anything happened to her.
"Would you look at the time? I'm due a snack, so I'll have to love you and leave you." Delilah realised a giggle, one that chilled the bones of all the people in the room. "My congratulations again." She placed a hand against her chest, where her heart would be, "Long live the King and Queen, Romeo and Juliet."
And then with a click of her stilettos, she was gone.
