《Remarkable (Dance Moms Fic)》Chapter 5: Colliding of the stars

Four weeks had passed and it was May 22nd and on that day, Christi was at a restaurant on Dempster Street named Ken's Diner and Grill sitting at a booth as she had called Abby and her son to talk about the verbal fight they had at the competition and it was three days before the birthdays of Chloe, Lauren and Skye as they were born in the same year and day.
Several minutes later, Abby and Shane both arrived and sat in the same booth with Christi.
"Hello." Christi replied.
"Hi, Christi. You wanted to talk to us?" Abby asked as she and Shane sat down so they could talk to Christi.
"Yes." Christi replied. "Abby, Shane, the reason why i wanted to talk to you today was to make amends with you two for what had happened at the previous competition, my actions were downright inexcusable, i'll admit that and i take full responsibility for that. Also, want to apologize to the both of you."
"Your apology is accepted." Abby told Christi.
"Also, i've done some soul searching and deep thinking in these past four weeks and i realize that i'm not doing Chloe any favors by constantly fighting with you, so i'm gonna stand back and let you teach Chloe."
Abby and Shane looked at each other in surprise, that wasn't what they were expecting from Christi.
"What have you done with the real Christi and where is she?" Shane teased as he, Abby and Christi shared a laugh.
"Like i just said, i did some soul searching and realized i was getting in the way of Chloe trusting the both of you. I'd like to start a clean slate with you guys and i mean it."
Abby and Shane smiled, they knew that Christi had honesty in her voice and she was smiling at them, knowing that they've finally come to an understanding and then Christi shook hands with Abby, then she did the same thing with Shane and then they left the diner.
In Studio A at the studio the next day, the girls were sitting down and the moms were standing as Abby and Shane were standing next to the board.
"Let's talk about the competition from four weeks ago, i'm very disappointed, every one of you could have done better with your solos." Abby told the girls. "Let's forget about what had happened, what is going to happen this upcoming weekend?"
Paige raised her hand. "It's the ALDC Showcase."
"Ding Ding Ding! You're correct." Shane said, the ALDC showcase is an event that showcases the competition numbers and the families and friends come and see the results and Abby signaled for her son to inform the girls what group dance would be done at the showcase. "We'll be doing a new group routine called Sugar Daddies at the showcase."
"Maddie, you won the overall high score at the competition, Nia, you forgot the solo, but you kept dancing and made it up and finished. Chloe, you did a great job despite those other situations. You are here and i want to see that attitude improve on the stage because you never know who is watching you." Abby said. "I've got a few surprises for you during the showcase, i do not want to pressure you or anything, but in the audience there's going to be an agent coming to seek new talent and looking for new clients to sign."

The girls and moms all had excited looks on their faces as they clapped and cheered.
"We've got another thing up our sleeve." Shane commented as he turned to the moms with a grin and Abby was grinning too, it was obvious that they were trying not to laugh. Moms...you're all going to be dancing in the show as well."
The moms all had embarrassed looks on their faces as the girls were all cheering and clapping.
"Cathy, you're gonna be the choreographer."
Cathy had a look of surprise as she started to laugh while the other moms rolled their eyes, they knew it was gonna be a disaster.
"You're in for trouble." Cathy told the moms and Chloe raised her hand.
"Yes, Chloe?" Abby stated.
"Just wondering, what's Shane gonna do for the recital?"
"Shane's gonna do a vocal performance of How Ya Like Me Now by Kool Moe Dee." Abby answered as the girls and moms all cheered. "As you know, Nationals is getting nearer and nearer, with every competition, you get better and stronger. So, this showcase is gonna be a great chance to entertain instead of compete, but it's as important as it's leading up to Nationals because what is it that we want to do?"
"Win." The girls all said.
"You know it." Shane commented as he looked towards the moms. "You're dismissed and girls, let's do it."
The moms all went upstairs to the observation room as the girls all began the group dance rehearsals for the showcase and Christi turned to Melissa.
"Melissa?"
"Yes, Christi?" Melissa wondered.
"I've had some time to reflect and do some soul searching through these four weeks and i want to apologize to you, Kelly, Holly and Cathy for my actions at the competition, i'll admit, it wasn't my best moment and i was out of line and i should have been the bigger person in that situation and hopefully, we can move past this." Christi told Melissa and extended her hand. "What do you say?"
"I'm sorry too." Melissa told Christi and accepted the handshake, signifying a friendship. "Let's start a clean slate and put it behind us."
"I agree, it may be rough at times, but we can get through it."
"Ditto."
"What do you all think about dancing in the showcase?" Holly asked.
"Honestly, where do Abby and her son come up with those ideas?" Kelly wondered.
"With those two, you never know." Melissa commented.
"Yeah."
The next day at the studio, Cathy was demonstrating the moves that was going to be used for "That Girl's Just Gotta Be Kissed" and the moms all came in as Shane was in Studio C rehearsing for his vocal performance and he had also helped make the props for the group dance, which were lollipops.
"Hello. Are you guys ready?" Cathy asked.
"I don't know if i'll ever be ready." Kelly responded, she was one of Abby's students years ago and it was weird for her to be in the studio as a dancer again and they began the rehearsal and up in the observation room, the girls were all watching and with them was Skye and Lauren and they were all laughing.

"This is so embarrassing." Paige laughed.
"Yeah." Brooke added.
"Seeing the moms dance, this is so funny." Lauren commented.
"You know it, sis." Skye agreed.
"One of us should have asked Shane to bring some popcorn." Nia chortled.
"That would have been a good idea." Chloe stated.
"When Shane announced it yesterday, you could tell he was trying not to laugh himself." Maddie told them.
"Shane looks funny when he's trying not to laugh." Mackenzie laughed and the next day, Abby announced that a casting associate from Telsey and Company named Cesar would be coming to the studio to look at the girls.
It was May 25th and on that day were three birthdays, it was the tenth birthdays Chloe, Skye and Lauren's birthdays and before they began rehearsal, the three blew out the birthday cakes and would eat them later.
"Miss Abby, do you have a rubberband that i could use to put my hair in a ponytail?" Chloe asked.
"Here you go." Abby pulled out a rubberband from her pocket and gave it to Chloe.
"Thanks."
"No problem." Abby replied. "And happy birthday."
Chloe gave the thumbs up and they started the rehearsal and the next day, everybody pitched in to clean up the studio in preparation for Cesar and when he arrived, they began the process of looking for young talent and also, they had the dress rehearsal for the showcase at the North Shore Center For The Performing Arts.
The next day, it was the day of the Abby Lee Dance Company showcase and in the audience were friends, families and colleagues of Abby's and it was being held at the North Shore Center For The Performing Arts and the dancers of the studio were gonna do some of their old dances they've done at competitions and Cesar was in the audience and in the wings, Abby had a headset on and a microphone as the lights went out.
"And now, The Abby Lee Dance Company proudly presents We Love To Dance."
After several dances went by, the moms dance was next as Melissa, Christi, Kelly, Holly and Cathy were all in sequined black and silver dresses and standing in the wings and the music started and they danced and at first, it was going well, but then Cathy started doing her own dance moves as the other moms were perplexed and so was Cesar while Vivi sighed.
"What in blazes is she doing?" Christi asked.
"What is she doing?" Kelly wondered as in the wings, Abby was embarrassed.
"She changed the dance." Abby said. "She's doing a solo out there! What is she doing?! She's trying to upstage everybody."
"I knew it." Lauren commented.
"Mom and Shane both told us that this was gonna be a trainwreck and it is." Skye added.
Kelly came off stage to gripe to Abby. "She got us really messed up."
At the end, two guys in tanktops and pants carried Cathy off stage as the crowd cheered.
"I'm gonna go get Shane and see if he's ready for his vocal performance." Gianna told Abby.
"All right." Abby turned to het two daughters "Skye, Lauren, go with Gianna and see if your brother is ready because he's gonna be on after the girls group dance."
"Ok, mom." Skye stated as she and Lauren followed Gianna.
Meanwhile, while Maddie, Chloe, Nia, Brooke and Paige were doing "Sugar Daddies", Shane was in a dressing room looking himself in the mirror, he had his hair in a ponytail, he was wearing a black leather jacket, tanktop, black track pants and adidas sneakers as he was wearing sunglasses and a knock on door was heard.
"Come in."
The door opened and standing in the doorway was Gianna, Skye and Lauren standing there.
"Hey, there."
"Are you ready?" Gianna asked.
"Yes." Shane responded.
"All right." Gianna said as Shane walked to the wings of the stage and when he got there, he was waiting for the girls to complete the group dance and when they were done, he knew that he was next and once the curtains closed, a stagehand put a microphone stand on the stage with a microphone on it and Shane went to the microphone stand, stood in front of it and waited for his cue.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Abby Lee Dance Company is proud to present Shane Miller with a vocal performance of How Ya Like Me Now!" Abby said over the P.A.
The crowd cheered as the stage curtains opened and the lights on the stage were out, then once the sound of a motorcycle engine was heard, the music started to play and the lights came on and Shane was doing some poses before taking the microphone off the stand and began rapping.
"Yeah!" Lauren stated.
"Go, Bro!" Skye added.
"Shane Train, you rock!" Paige cheered.
Shane was just having a fantastic time rapping and the audience couldn't get enough of him as he was dancing too and Abby was sitting and nodding her head to the beat and Shane even did the splits and the audience was going nuts and when he was done, he did a pose and the audience stood up and cheered and Shane took a bow and headed off stage and he got hugged by everybody.
Backstage when the showcase was over, the girls and moms were all waiting for Cesar and when he approached, he said he wanted to see Maddie and Chloe, which made Melissa and Christi both smile and Cesar invited them too and after talking to heim Cesar told Abby and Shane that Maddie and Chloe were gonna be stars and everyone went home.
