"Chris, wake up." Jimmy shook Chris's sleeping body with one hand, a pregnancy test in his other hand. Jimmy shook harder until Chris shot up in bed. He panted and then saw the scared look in Jimmy's eyes.

"What's wrong, Jimmy?" Chris asked, taking the comforter off his legs and putting his hands out. Jimmy hid the test in his fist and sat down in his lap, feeling hands wrap around him, his head laying on his shoulder. Chris petted his head, stroking his finger across his jawline time from time. Jimmy sighed and kissed his neck, trying to find a way to tell him.

"Chris." Jimmy started after a couple minutes, lifting his head up off his shoulder and looking at him. Chris cocked his head, letting him continue.

"Well I- it's just easier if I show you." Jimmy bright one of Chris's hands up, placing the test into the palm of his hand. Chris looked down at it and examined it. After a couple minutes, a wide grin started to form on his face and he looked up at Jimmy.

"Serious?" Chris asked. Jimmy broke out into a smile and nodded, feeling a pair of arms wrap around him and pull him in.

"We're having a baby!" Chris whispered yelled, his voice cracking slightly due to him crying. A tear trickled onto his cheek, making Jimmy start to cry.

"Yeah." Jimmy whispered. Chris looked down at him and kissed his forehead and cheek, running his fingers through his hair.

"You have the softest hair I've ever knew." Chris whispered, making Jimmy burst out laughing.

"I thought we were talking about us having a baby?"

Jimmy lifted his head and raised his eyebrows. Chris grinned and kissed him. Jimmy was taken aback but kissed him back, cupping his cheek in his hand. They broke apart and rested their forehead against each other.

"We're having a baby." Chris whispered again, his gaze locked onto Jimmy's stomach. Jimmy smiled and grabbed Chris's hand.

"I can't wait to meet them." Jimmy whispered back, rubbing Chris's hand.

"Same."

"Chris, why are you looking at baby clothes?" Jimmy asked as he sat down on the bed and looking at his phone. Chris looked up and pressed the phone to his chest.

"I'm not." Chris lied, his cheeks rising in color. Jimmy raised an eyebrow and sat up against the headboard.

"Then what we're you looking at?" Jimmy asked, putting his hand on top of the hand that was covering Chris's phone.

"Baby clothes." Chris mumbled barely audible. Jimmy heard him though and smiled.

"Chris, I'm only ten weeks. Can't you wait until I'm twenty weeks at least?" Jimmy stated. Chris sighed and placed his hand onto Jimmy's stomach which had a small bump on it. He cupped it and rubbed his thumb against the skin, sending shivers down Jimmy's spine.

"I know, I know. It's just, I can't wait for them." Chris attempted, resting his head onto Jimmy's shoulder. Jimmy mocked a pout and made an "aww" sound.

"I know you'll make a good father." Jimmy reached up and placed his hand onto Chris's cheek and stroked his cheek with his thumb. Chris hummed, breathing out dreamily.

"You don't think about them?" Chris asked. Jimmy hummed and thought about it.

"I do, I kinda have to since I'm carrying them but our life together with them, yeah. I think about it every moment I can get." Jimmy replied, moving his hand up to Chris's hair and tangling his fingers in it.

"When you think about them, do you imagine them as a girl or a boy or both?"

"I think both but I think a girl more than a boy lately. How about you?"

"Both, but a boy is more what I imagine."

"Welp, I guess we'll see who they are in about ten weeks." Jimmy whispered and laughed breathlessly, feeling Chris smile against his shoulder.

"Yeah, we'll see."

———————————-

"Chrissy, wake up." Jimmy whispered into Chris's ear one morning. Chris startled awake, not being used to waking up by Jimmy. He opened his eyes and saw Jimmy sat up next to him, one hand rested on the front of his stomach and the other laid on the swollen abdomen. Chris could barely tell but it looked like Jimmy was crying. He sat up too, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He placed his arm around Jimmy's shoulders, his other hand rested on the top of his stomach.

"What's wrong?" Chris asked. Jimmy pursued his lips together, humming and his back slightly arched. Chris felt a little tap against his stomach and he knew what was going on. Jimmy wasn't able to sleep most nights since the baby started to kick a couple weeks ago, basically forcing them to stay up all night and rest during the day, throwing their sleep schedules off. He then felt a slightly push under his hand and heard Jimmy sniffled. They were kicking a lot and hard, Chris could tell.

"I swear, if they don't become a soccer player—• Jimmy was cut off, a slight groan exited out his mouth. He rested his head onto Chris's shoulder and curled up his legs, trying not to scream out form the pain. Chris rubbed his hand gently against the top of his stomach. After a couple seconds, he heard a sigh of pleasure come for Jimmy.

"Keep going. They like it." Jimmy whispered, feeling the baby calm down a little. He kept rubbing, leaning his head a little to his right to lay on top of Jimmy's. He kept going until he felt the muscles in Jimmy's shoulders relax and his stomach muscles loosened up. Jimmy sighed and leaned back a bit, bringing Chris down with him.

"Thank you." Jimmy whispered, yawning and taking his hands off his stomach. Chris hummed and took his head off Jimmy's and got the comforter, tucking both of them in. He let Jimmy get comfortable before laying down next to him on his side, putting his arms around his waist. Jimmy laid his forehead against Chris's and his arms resting on Chris's shoulders.

"You're adorable." Chris whispered, his hot breath gliding across Jimmy's lips. He saw a hint of a smile on his lips and he pecked them. His eyelids drooped and his grip on Jimmy loosened, causing him to whine. Chris tightened his grip back on Jimmy's waist and let Jimmy rest his leg onto his.

"Thanks." Jimmy mumbled, slithering his hands underneath Chris's shirt, his cold fingers gliding across his bare chest and stomach, leaving shivers running throughout his body. They fell asleep like this, in the comfort of each other's arms and warmth from both of them covering them like a blanket.

Jimmy sat outside on the porch swing, his hand resting on his bump. He pushed it back and forth gently like a gentle breeze was pushing him. He observed the country, Chris's liken of place and at first Jimmy hated living in the country but he got used to it over time and it started to become his liken of place. He hummed, tapping his bump to a beat and feeling the flutters under his hand. He heard the front door open and looked towards it, seeing his lover step onto the porch. He smiled softly at how cute he was and felt his heart start to beat faster, like it did years ago, when he first saw him, when they shared their first kiss, when he dropped onto his knee, when he saw him at the alter while he walked down at the alise.

"Hey Jimmy." Chris spoke, sitting down next to him. Jimmy laid his head onto his shoulder and placed his hand onto his thigh. Chris threaded his fingers into his hair and placed his hand onto his knee. They stayed like this, enjoying the company and the comfortable silence.

"Oh, guess what?" Jimmy's voice broke the silence. Chris hummed, moving his hand up to his thigh.

"I found out the sex." Chris raised his eyebrows and let Jimmy take his head off his shoulder. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the envelope. He handed it to Chris, smiling a bit.

"I think you should open it." Jimmy spoke, placing the envelope into his hands. Chris looked down at it then at his bump.

"You sure?" Chris asked. Jimmy nodded and placed his hand onto his swollen abdomen, tapping it gently. Chris inhaled deeply and carefully tear opened the envelope. He reached in and grabbed the folded slip of paper, opening it up and reading it. He gasped and looked up at Jimmy.

"What is it?" Jimmy asked, his grin huge on his face making him look adorable.

"We're having a girl!" Chris exclaimed, hugging Jimmy and kissing his forehead. Jimmy gasped and looked at Chris with tears threatening to spill over his eyelids.

"Serious?" Jimmy asked, meeting Chris's gaze. He nodded, making Jimmy hug Chris tightly. Chris hugged him back, feeling tears run down his cheeks. He knew Jimmy was going to be happy, he had always been hoping that their child was going to be a girl. He heard a sniffle then felt Jimmy move away from him.

"I can't wait for her." Jimmy whispered, placing his hands onto his abdomen. Chris looked down and slipped his hands underneath his.

"Me either."

————————————

Jimmy couldn't sleep. He was now heavily pregnant, making him more miserable. He was sore everywhere and felt like a whale, looked like one too in his opinion. His daughter would still move around harshly at night, sitting right underneath his lungs and making it hard to breath most of time. She would press her feet up against the already tight skin, making him want to cry out. He also been having false contractions, making the whole situation ten times worse. He would always have them when he was comfortable and was about to sleep or when he was about to eat something. He still was having morning sickness, which wasn't a good start to the day after a restless night.

Jimmy sat up against the headboard, the clock reading 3:25 a.m. He listened to his lover's soft snores and felt his daughter stir in the tight space she had. He stroked his thumb along his abdomen, feeling the flutters of his daughter underneath his thumb. He groaned, suddenly feeling hungry. He looked over at his lover then at the ring that rested on his ring finger. He smiled a little then placed his hand onto Chris's shoulder. He shook him gently and kept shaking him until Chris groaned. He turned over to Jimmy and sat up to look at him.

"'hat's wrong?" Chris asked, rubbing his eyes. Jimmy huffed and kept stroking his abdomen.

"The baby's hungry." Jimmy spoke, hearing his stomach grumble. Chris leaned against the headboard and casted a look on Jimmy's face. His eyebrows were slightly knitted together but his eyes read sadness. He placed his hand onto his swollen abdomen and held it, feeling the flutters from his daughter underneath his palm.

"What are you craving?" Chris asked. Jimmy hummed and tapped his abdomen.

"Cake." He spoke after a couple moments, glancing over at Chris. "But we don't have any. I'm fine with some ice cream."

"No no, I'll make it. Do you want to help me?" Chris asked. He watched a smile form onto Jimmy's face and he nodded. Chris got off the bed and went over to his side, putting out his hands. Jimmy grabbed them and let Chris pull him up, breathing out as he did.

"Thanks." Jimmy told him once he was standing on his feet. Chris kept his hold on his hands and kissed his nose, dragging him with him.

"No problem. I know my child is better heavy." Chris joked, earning a scoff and eye roll.

"Tell me about it." Jimmy spoke as they entered the kitchen. Chris let go of Jimmy's hands as he went to grab the ingredients to make a cake. Jimmy grabbed some bowls, measuring cups and whisks, then leaned against the counter. He watched the man move around the kitchen gracefully, his hips swaying when he was in the pantry looking for the items. He licked his lips and placed his hand on the top of his bump. He looked away when Chris turned towards him, fighting the blush that he knew was on his cheeks. He heard the items being placed onto the counter and he turned to look at him. He was opening the package and measuring the items, dumping them into the bowl. Jimmy pushed himself off the counter and went to go grab a pan for the cake. He opened the cupboard and took out the pan, turning around and catching Chris's gaze.

"How do you it?" Chris asked, mixing the ingredients. Jimmy cocked his head, placing the pan onto the counter and leaning his back against it.

"Do what?" Jimmy asked. Chris grabbed another

item and put it into the bowl, mixing it together.

"You know, carry our baby." Chris told him. Jimmy hummed and looked at Chris, catching his gaze that always made his knees weak and the breath get knocked out of him. He recovered quickly though, thinking about his question.

"I mean, the last month and now I've been miserable, since this child loves to kick and annoy me. I can already tell she got some traits from you. Morning sickness, awful. It's even worse when it was supposed to stop a couple months ago, but here we are, still have it almost every morning. I feel so bloated and I never knew my skin could stretch out this much. But, I guess I like it. It feels crazy every time she starts to move around, I always forget the feeling until she starts moving around again. And, you make it better." Jimmy finished his speech, looking over at Chris. His head was cocked and he was putting the batter into the pan, the chocolate batter making Jimmy more hungry.

"How do I make it better?" He asked, making Jimmy smile.

"You're always here to help me with everything, give me comfort when I don't know I need it, encourage me to get up in the morning. You make me feel like I'm not alone in this process. I couldn't take you enough. I love you." Jimmy spoke, putting his hand onto the hand Chris rested on the counter. Chris turned to him and smiled, giving him a side hug. Jimmy wrapped his arm around his waist, feeling happy. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the moment.

He felt the arm move off him and he opened his eyes, watching the man put the pan in the oven. He pressed a couple of buttons then walked away. He examined Jimmy, making Jimmy look down.

"Hey, you want to dance?" Chris asked. Jimmy looked up and was accompanied by Chris's gaze. He nodded and pushed himself off the counter as Chris went on his phone to play some music. He raised the volume and the first notes played, making him smile.

Chris walked over to him and put his hands onto his waist while Jimmy rested his arms over his shoulders. They swayed in unison, Jimmy's bump causing more room to be made.

"You know this song?" Chris asked. Jimmy nodded and they turned.

"It's our wedding song." Jimmy answered, humming along to the song.

They kept swaying and Jimmy laid his forehead onto Chris's.

Their noses touched, sending shocks through them.

After years of being together, there were moments where it felt like they were sharing their first moments again. Their first kiss, first laugh, first date, first dance. Those moments were always special to both of them, both of them cherishing those moments.

They made eye contact, their eyelashes fluttering against each other's. They gaze was strong but also unnerving, both of their knees growing weak but they kept each other up.

Jimmy thought Chris was out of his mind when he picked this song as their wedding song. It was such a sad song which was the opposite of their relationship.

"Remember when we broke up?" Chris asked. Jimmy furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head.

"You were twenty two and I was twenty four and we have been dating for a year. We got in a big fight and broke up. This song describes the way I felt after we broke up. I always thought of you when this song played. I still think about you now every time this song plays." Chris explained. Jimmy smiled softly and remembered that day. It hurt him in every way and only a couple months later they were kissing and laughing with each other again.

Chris's grip on Jimmy tightened as their lips brushed up against each other's. The stumble of each other's breads scratched their cheeks and chins but it didn't hurt like it did the first time, now it was a comforting feeling.

Jimmy will attempt that when Chris dropped down onto one knee, he was shocked. They were twenty five and twenty seven and it was a cold summer night. Chris took him to their favorite restaurant for dinner then went on a night walk in the park. The moon was full and bright, perfectly lighting up Chris's features. They went near a lake and Jimmy saw candles surrounding the dock. They walked onto the dock and Jimmy looked at the moon in the reflection of the lake. He turned around to face Chris and saw that he was on one knee on the ground, a ring box in his hands. He opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by Jimmy's kiss. He didn't have to say that he loved him and wanted to spend the rest of his life with him, Jimmy already knew that is what both of them want. They kissed and kissed, the ring slipped onto Jimmy's finger at some point.

The flutters from there child against Chris's stomach made his love for Jimmy and his unborn daughter grow. He would always glance in the nursery every time he walked by the room and sometimes would spot Jimmy in there, refolding onesies or fixing something in the crib. He knew Jimmy was excited for their child every since he saw those two lines, that smudge on the screen at his first ultrasound, and the first kick he felt from them.

Their lips met and the kiss set off fireworks, nothing in the world mattered, only their lips and each other. They broke apart and shared another, their hips swaying to the music. The soft pop and the puddle forming underneath their feet broke the romantic moment.

"They're coming." Was all Jimmy said as they looked down at the floor.

———————————

After six painful hours filled with swears, screams, tears, pain, a lot of reinsurance, and a lot of sweet talking and one hour of pushing, more pain, more tears, and an almost pass out, their daughter was born. She screamed at the top of her lungs when she entered the world, but immediately was quiet and calm when she laid on Jimmy's chest. They both didn't know they needed this, to see the creature they made in front of their eyes an actual human. It was still early on, but Chris could tell she got her looks from Jimmy.

Chris leaned against the bed as he watched their daughter all snuggled up on Jimmy's chest, a thin blanket and his hand accompanying her naked body. She had her eyes open and was observing Jimmy's face as he did the same with her. He didn't know how right this felt until she held his finger in her little fist, the wide eyes staring up at him.
