sat next to hyejin on the soft, cotton couch. hyejin chuckled quietly at the comedic movie. yongsun and byul had cuddled together on the separate couch from the other two, completely immersed into the movie and unconsciously leaning closer and closer towards each other.
on the other hand, wheein and hyejin had sat at the ends of the couch. the two were very far from each other. hyejin had cuddled into her blanket and pillow, comfortably snuggling into the safety of the blanket. she had noticed that wheein was lightly shaking in the cold, mentally rolling her eyes when she refused to get the blanket because 'it's been so hot lately!'.
hyejin used her hand to call over wheein. the girl cocked her head as she moved closer to hyejin. as wheein came closer to hyejin, the other sat up allowing more blanket to be used. despite her comfortable position, she invited wheein to go under the warm blanket.
the girl hesitantly went under the blanket, remembering to keep distance between them. as the movie continued, so did hyejin's immense exhaustion. she laid her head onto wheein's comfy shoulder and fell asleep. not only was the blanket very warm, so was wheein.
the shorter could hear hyejin's soft snoring, the scent of hyejin was invading her nose. wheein relaxed into the snuggle and eventually became tired as well. yongsun caught the two cuddling together and let out a soft giggle. "look, byulyi," the said girl looked over.
"ah—young love," byul placed her hand on her heart, sighing as if she was an old man. "shut up, grandpa," yongsun slapped byul's hand. "look at the two," byul quickly snapped a picture and giggled. "you don't know how big of blackmail this is," byul smiled dearly at the photo. "you act like a child," "so do you!" yong rolled her eyes before engulfing the other in a hug.
"please never leave me," she mumbled in the girl's ear causing a faint blush on her cheeks. "only if you never look away from me. always keep your eyes on me," yongsun hummed in acknowledgment. "always,"
"can you guys stop being gross over there?" hyejin mumbled out loud enough for the two lovebirds to hear. "fine, fine. let's go sleep," byul dragged the sleepy yongsun towards her room. hyejin took wheein's hand (as if she supposed to) and brought her to the guest room before collapsing on the bed.
"go brush your teeth," wheein crossed her arms. "you go first," wheein huffed and went towards the bathroom to do so. the girl looked at herself in the mirror. a pink hue was placed on her cheeks and ears, her eyes looked tired, and her expression was calm. "I look like a mess," wheein told herself before doing her night routine.

she walked in on a sleepy lion, already cuddled up in the pillow and body melting into the mattress. "hyejin. go brush your teeth," wheein shook the girl. "mhm," she half-heartedly said. wheein kept her stern gaze on the girl before hyejin woke up, obviously angry.
"I'm going. geez, mom," hyejin went to quickly do her night routine and jumped back into the large, comfy, king sized bed.
honestly, wheein did not want to sleep on the floor. the bed was too big for one person anyway. wheein laid down on the mattress, allowing her body to relax and before you know it wheein fell asleep.
—
as the sun peeked through the curtain, shining brightly into the dark room, it woke the early bird wheein up. her eyes peeled open to an unfamiliar room, with a very tired girl beside her. wheein looked at hyejin, as if drinking in her visual. she noticed how dark her eyebags are, they were prominent. hyejin must not be sleeping well at her home.
the short girl walked out of the girl to brush her teeth. as her toes touched the cold, wooden flooring she felt a shiver run down her spine. the girl twisted the cold door knob and walked out to the amazing smell of pancakes.
obviously the aroma of amazing pancakes woke the never ending hungry being of ahn hyejin. "what's that amazing smell," hyejin croaked out. her morning voice was definitely different from her regular one, wheein noted to herself. "get ready, I think yongsun made some pancakes," hyejin nodded as she lied back into the pillow.
the two walked down the stairs, following the great scent of morning pancakes. "goodmorning you two!" byul said as she looked up from her phone. "you guys look amazing," she sarcastically said before looking at her phone.
it was true, they looked like a disaster. "here, have some," yongsun smiled at the two. the oldest placed four plates of pancakes on the table. the four dug into the meal, all surprised by the amazing cook. "it's weird to say this, but yongsun you did a really good job," the oldest glared at byulyi. "oh!" byul pulled her phone out. "I just wanted to show you guys this," it caught the attention of the two youngest.
byul opened the picture of hyejin and wheein cuddling (very sweetly) together on the couch. "oh my god! give that!" hyejin tried her best to snatch the phone out of byulyi's grip, unfortunately she was a tad faster.

wheein's cheeks were pink and she decided to stare at her food. "don't worry, you guys didn't do anything else," she giggled. "you really are satan aren't you?" hyejin glared at the girl. "the one and only," "byulyi, oh my god!" yongsun giggled at the two bickering. "you guys both better stop arguing before I take both of your plates of food and give it to myself and wheein," yongsun sweetly looked at the two.
it took immediate effect, as they stopped fighting. "you guys are really funny," wheein laughed. and for the first time in a while, wheein felt like she belonged.
—
hyejin chuckled at the memory of yongsun driving the three to school. "ms. ahn is there something that's so funny you'd like to tell the class?" hyejin twirled her pencil between her fingers. "nope. i'm good," she said cooly and stared back at the teacher.
the teacher looked agitated and straightened his back. he maneuvered his body to face the board and continued his lesson.
yongsun, byulyi, wheein, and hyejin all got into the oldest's car. "buckle up!" yongsun told the four. "please don't kill us. I'm too young to die," hyejin told the other. "shut up," yongsun scolded the youngest. "don't yell at my child like that!" "she's not your kid!" byul and yong started to argue (like the old couple they are). "stop fighting and drive us. jesus," wheein sighed dramatically.
"we're a rowdy bunch," hyejin told the puppy. "yeah, I figured," she rolled her eyes. "let's go!" yongsun stepped on the gas and started to drive the four.
"I told you not to kill me!" hyejin screamed. "why are we going fifty at a thirty road?" byul questioned the older. "come on, don't be such a wuss," wheein blanched at yongsun's words. her face was inevitably pale. "we're here!" the girl shouted to the other's.
"my life just flashed before my eyes," wheein held onto her seatbelt. "i'm driving when we leave," wheein quickly left the car so she could catch her class. yongsun pouted "what? I'm an amazing driver,".
the smile on hyejin's mouth never left.
—
"wheein-ah!" hyejin caught up the short girl. "what's up?" wheein looked at hyejin. "would you like to sit with us?" the question escaped hyejin's mouth before she could think of any bad possibilities that could go wrong. a small smirk laid onto wheein's pink lips. "sure," hyejin cheekily smiled back and dragged wheein towards their lunch table. "hey, wheein," byulyi waved to the other. "hi," the said girl waved back. yongsun waved at the girl with a stuffed mouth of spicy rice cakes.
"hello to you too," wheein smiled dearly at the older girl.
wheein and hyejin sat at the table. hyejin took the contents of food out of her bag. instinctively, wheein's fingers took some food out of hyejin's food. the shorter's excuse was very bad. "you're mom seriously makes the best food!". "whatever," hyejin rolled her eye and shoved her food in her mouth.
"gimme some too!" byul's hand made their way towards wheein's food. "me too!" hyejin joined in. yongsun happily joined the banter "don't leave me out," wheein retracted her food and glared at the three. "before you know it, I won't have any more food!" hyejin pouted at wheein's words.
"come one share," the most adorable pout wheein's ever seen, made her heart melt into honey. "fine," wheein groaned into defeat. "thanks, love," the rosy hue on wheein's face was noticed by the two oldest.
yongsun and wheein made eye contact, and a small smirk made its way onto yong's lips. "lemme steal wheein from you for a sec," yongsun grabbed wheein's wrist and dragged the girl out of the lunchroom.
"what was that about?" hyejin questioned byul. byul said "oh nothing. yong just wanted to ask wheein for help on math,". hyejin—being the most oblivious girl in the world—shrugged it off without thought. "so how's class?"
"same old. you know, the teacher asked me if i was bullying a kid into giving their answers to me. how dumb! I've only done that once," hyejin pouted. "the fact you've done that is—," "guys!" yongsun walked towards the two.
the blush on wheein's face was very apparent. it was visible even to hyejin, and that's saying something. "wheein, are you feeling okay?" hyejin questioned the older. "yup—never been better!" the quick answer caught hyejin off guard. but not wanting to push it—hyejin left wheein alone.
oh, how much hyejin wanted to wonder why yongsun told wheein.

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
