huffed as she tried her best to find her way out of this hole hyejin created. "I'm sorry! geez no need to—" wheein glared at hyejin. "shut it, I'm thinking," wheein blocked out anything hyejin was saying. "use your phone, idiot!" hyejin exclaimed as she narrowed her eyes at the other. "do you actually believe I haven't thought of that! my phone is dead!" hyejin pulled out her phone.

no service

there was no way out of this hell hole she dug herself in. hyejin scoffed and shoved her phone in her back pocket. should she be happy about this? is this heaven's way of telling her this is the time to do so? the girl mentally groaned and pouted as she sat in the car.

that was the stupidest idea I've ever had hyejin thought. yes, she should stress wheein out even more by telling the girl her feelings.

wheein looked around the area. she made an educated guess that they couldn't be extremely far from school. the shorter quickly glared at hyejin and sat in the driver's seat. "you're never driving," hyejin smiled. "sorry~"

wheein drove back from where they were, and thankfully, found her way back to where she was familiar with. "what distracted you while driving!" the girl screamed at hyejin. "you!" hyejin pouted. wheein's face began to turn pink "I seriously thought I was going the right way," hwasa mumbled to herself after seeing how red wheein's face got. she's really that mad at me? hyejin thought.

"how'd you even get your license," "don't ask me!" the car ride was beginning to become tense. geez, hyejin knew she messed up, but not this bad. "are you seriously mad at me?" wheein glanced at the girl. "of course not," hyejin could sense the lie from wheein.

"turn on the radio," wheein told the younger (the air was way too tense for either of them. it was scary). "of course, princess," wheein glared at the girl. "don't make me—," hyejin blasted the music.

a small smirk laid onto hyejin's face as she saw the irritated look on wheein's face. okay, now she should probably apologize, but wheein was so easy to make fun of. it's not her fault!

hyejin was doing her best to stifle her laugh. wheein turned the volume a bit down so she could scream at the girl. "you know what—," don't laugh hyejin don't do it hwasa thought. she completely blocked out whatever wheein was saying and ended up bursting out laughing. "you shoulda looked at the face you made, wheein-ah." the girl kept laughing. "you—it—," hyejin couldn't control her laughing.

a small smile was forming onto wheein's lips as she was listening to hyejin's terrible apology filled with never-ending laughing.

"I really—ahahah—oh god—ahaha," she tried to steady her breathing. "I'm sorry. seriously," she looked at the girl. wheein smirked as an idea crossed her mind "well maybe you should word your sentences better, babe" hyejin suddenly shut up as a pink hue was placed on her cheeks. wheein turned up the volume (with the largest grin on her face), as the girl knew that she got the last laugh.

"okay we're here," wheein parked her car outside hyejin's house. "thanks for the ride," "tomorrow?" "of course," hyejin opened the car door and closed it, waving wheein goodbye. she twisted her house door to hear nothing.

odd.

there was no noise. she hadn't heard such peaceful noise in such a long time, but this is weird. "dad? mom?" she looked around the house. "guess they left," hyejin shrugged her shoulders as she walked into her room, plopping her bag on the floor and jumping, face first, into her bed. the girl pulled her phone out, and began playing games, going on social media, anything to absorb her time.

hyejin got out of the shower and checked the time.

10:34 pm

she suspected that either her parents were still at work or both of them thought the other was home and didn't want to come home. hyejin sighed as she was once again alone in this dreadful house of hers. to say she was bored (and kinda scared if someone will break in) was an understatement. the girl sighed as she opened her text messages.

me:

you guys busy?

yong:

no

byul nah

me:

can we meet up?????? I know it's late but im going to die of boredom......literally

byul where can we meet up?

yong:

did you figure that out?

me:

no BUT we can stay at one of you guys' houses

yong:

fine you can stay at my house

byul ogey

hyejin thought about inviting wheein over, but would that be too much for the two of them? her mind brought the memory of the two trying to become friends again.

me:

is it okay if I bring over wheein?

byul sure

there was no answer from yongsun, it made hyejin very, very nervous.

yong:

sure

hyejin's finger hovered over wheein's contact. 'wheein'. it looked way too boring for a contact name. 'wheeinie'. hyejin smiled in triumph (the contact is cute though—).

me:

do you want to hang out w me, yong, and byulyi

hyejin's nerves were getting the best of her, and she started to get a little scared.

wheeinie:

okay, I'll pick you up

hyejin quickly put together a quick outfit and wrote a small letter on the notepad.

'hey mom and dad, I'm gonna hang with some friends so I might come home later (or even tomorrow I dunno but I'll text you guys) so don't search for me!'

-hyejin

the girl tried to sound as friendly as she could. hyejin sighed as she put down the pencil. they probably won't even see the note. once again, her parents have failed her. again and again. they probably won't notice she's gone. a honk was heard from outside her house that brought hyejin's attention to her friends.

wheein must be here.

the lion huffed, took her phone, and opened the front door, revealing the familiar black car that wheein drove. "right on time," hyejin smirked at the girl. hyejin tugged on the car door and sat on the comfortable seat. "your car is seriously so comfortable," hwasa slumped into the seat.

"let's go," wheein rolled her eyes and pulled out of the driveway. the soft melody lulled hyejin into a calmer and happier state. "you can't sleep, we're almost there!" wheein smacked hyejin's arm. "I'm not asleep! I'm listening to the music," hyejin huffed.

wheein glanced at hyejin as she felt a small grip of guilt tug at her chest. the dark circles under her eyes were more prominent than usual, and she just looked more tired in general. "we didn't have to go if you were this tired," wheein, in annoyance, gripped onto the wheel.

"can you blame me? I feel like I haven't slept in weeks," "have you slept in weeks?" hyejin just scoffed and closed her eyes. "is it because of school? because we can cut back on our tutoring—," hyejin let out a dry chuckle "that's not it, wheenie,"

thank god it was dark (and that hyejin was half-asleep), because hwasa would've seen the light blush on wheein's cheeks. "don't call me that," "call you what?" wheein wanted to roll her eyes. did she really not know the nickname she called wheein.

"you're dumber than I thought," hyejin finally opened her eyes. "you're probably the meanest person I know," she then closed her eyes once more.

oddly, her eyes were more heavy than usual. it was like bricks were laying ontop of her lids, and forced them too close. hyejin's body was doing its best to sleep, but her brain was trying to do the exact opposite.

"we're here," wheein's voice was gentle and warm. the voice was melodic, almost angel like. hyejin hummed as she peeled her eyes open. "you shoulda slept," "I was really bored at home!" wheein was straining herself to not roll her eyes once more.

maybe the reason hyejin could never sleep was because she never felt safe. hyejin shook herself out of those thoughts.

as hyejin stepped out of the car, her eyes met with byulyi's and her entire mood changed. "byul!" the girl screamed out and ran towards the older. "you're so gross," the older hid behind yongsun. "is this what I get for taking care of my child?" yongsun chimed into the conversation. wheein was walking right behind hyejin as she—awkwardly—stood there.

"come in, wheein!" byul opened the door for the girl. "thanks," she mumbled out. wheein was familiar with the girls but not close enough for her to be chaotic. "how are you?" yongsun said timidly.

the tension between the two were growing and hyejin was starting to get a little uncomfortable. "come on guys, let's go pick out a movie!" hyejin pulled byul with her. "let's hope nothing happens," wheein murmured to herself.
