's smile was as large as a cheshire's. "oh," the girl happily sat in her seat. "when does it start?" the principal looked at the girl confused. when did she get excited about school? the principal thought

"today. during your free period." hyejin's smile widened even more. "our free period's match?"

it was practically a match-made in heaven to hyejin. "surprisingly." the principal's wrinkles shone even more through her smile. "go to class," hyejin stood up and left just like that. the lion was already thinking of the pure disgust on wheein's face, when the principal tells her about tutoring hyejin.

"why are you so smiley?" yongsun questioned the oddly happy girl. "i might've just gotten a date because of my terrible grades," yongsun just looked even more confused. "and how's that?" yongsun questioned again "basically, i have terrible grades the principal got me a tutor. guess who's the tutor?" byulyi grinned.

"glasses!" buys smiled widely. "yup," yongsun frowned. "okay, today must be weird, because yong isn't smiling," yongsun looked up. "it's not that," the three walked towards the cafeteria. "it's just—i've known her before. and she's practically my old elementary friend. haven't talked to her in a while—," byul frowned and put an arm around her.

"well now you can!" yongsun looked at her like she was the weirdest person in the universe. "hyejin's talking to her now, isn't she?" yong nodded. "well now maybe you guys can finally talk," yong smiled. "i don't think it's actually that easy, but alright," yongsun happily stepped into the cafeteria.

the spicy rice cakes filling her nostrils. "guys get in line!" yongsun pulled byulyi which in turn pulled hyejin towards the line. the lions stomach growled. yeah, she was starving. but today she so happened to forget her money.

"yong, i don't have any money to buy lunch," yongsun was in thought. "we—uh—we can share," hyejin noticed yongsun became tense. "let's be honest you're gonna eat all the spicy rice cakes before i can even—," hyejin felt a small poke on her back.

"hwasa. we are tutoring later, yes?" wheein mumbled loud enough for hyejin to hear. hyejin nodded at the small girl. "i'm busy during my free period. would you rather now or tomo—" hyejin cut her off. "we can do it now," wheein nodded and waited beside hyejin. "bye guys," hyejin waved at the two.

yong looked dazed, while byul worriedly looked at the older.

wheein had dragged hyejin towards a vacant room. "geez, hold on. are you that excited to see me?" the smaller of the two stopped in her tracks, her hands trembling a bit. "look. i barely even know you, and you seem like the type of person to just flirt around. but now i'm responsible for your grades," the tiny girl puffed.

not gonna lie that was a little hot hyejin thought. "okay," hyejin smirked. wheein just rolled her eyes and set her books down on the desk. "are you coming?" wheein asked. "right behind ya,"

~

"...and that's how you do it," hyejin's eyes were popping out of their sockets. "wow. you just explained to me things i've tried to probably learn my entire eleventh grade," hyejin could see in her peripheral vision that wheein had let out an adorable smile. her dimple could be seen.

the bell rung. "see you later sweetheart," hyejin quickly grabbed her books and slid out of the room. she let out a smile knowing that the girl was fuming right now.

she walked towards her last period. she was still hungry, and the thought of food made her want to eat a buffet.

for once, hyejin made that class on time. hyejin looked around the classroom and met eyes with the short, fuming girl.

hyejin never noticed she was in her class.

"hello class! today is gonna be a bit different," the substitute teacher clasped her hands together. "we have a study hall today! please don't talk. you can go and group together," the substitute teacher had sat in the black, cushioned chair.

as if her feet had its own mind, she ended up right in front of wheein. "let's work together," "no," hyejin pouted.

"why not?" she whined. "i prefer to work alone," wheein opened her book. "well for once in your life you have a friend who's willing to be with you," hyejin stuck her tongue out at wheein.

"last time i remembered we aren't friends," wheein brushed her hair with her fingers. "well lucky for you, you have me now," as much as wheein wanted to barf, it was endearing.

hyejin's stomach growled. wheein looked over at the girl, guilt began to grow in her chest. "you hungry?" hyejin looked up. "aw, you care about me?" as if the guilt in wheein's disappeared, she rolled her eyes.

"but yeah i am," hyejin carelessly looked through the pages.

"we should've just tutored tomorrow," hyejin glanced at the girl in surprise. "but i wouldn't be able to see you, wouldn't i?" the tips of wheein's ear turned red. "would that god forsaken mouth of yours shut up?" wheein groaned.

"now that's hot," wheein shoved hyejin's shoulder. "ow! what was that for?" hyejin rubbed her arm.

wheein just sighed and shook her head like a disappointed mother. her thoughts started to eat at her though. you left her starving, now she's hungry because of you wheein's breathing un evened.

"hey whee you good?" hyejin looked over at the girl. "yeah, excuse me for a moment," when did she get polite? hyejin thought

"uh ms?" the teacher looked over. "could i go to the bathroom?" the teacher nodded. "me too," hyejin got up.

the teacher was about to object, but hyejin had already left with wheein.

"slow breaths wheein," her hand rubbing the olders back in small circles. "in and out, just like that," wheein questionably looked at the younger.

why is she being so kind? it's probably only because she feels bad, or to keep you around for answers—

"whatever bad thing you're thinking about right now, it's not true," as if hyejin had read her thoughts. she sat on the bathroom floor.

"they really should clean the bathrooms here," hyejin makes a disgusted face. despite hyejin's claims of the dirty bathroom, it was quite clean. "all the walls are drawn on," hyejin points at the 'no one cares about you love, everybody at school'

"their untrue and disgusting," hyejin took a paper towel and wet it with water. she put the wet towel onto the wall before rubbing the pen off the wall.

hyejin took out her pen and wrote. have a good day! <3 the whole school "you know," wheein finally spoke up "everyone says you're the meanest girl at school, why do they?" hyejin thought long and hard.

"i dunno, i'm just not them, i tend to be a little different," hyejin shrugged.

wheein was staring her down, as if she's reading the hardest book in the world. "you're so different. whenever i see you without your friends, your quiet and ready to pick a fight. when your with me your kind, i don't get it," hyejin sighed.

"there's nothing to get," she shrugged her shoulders. "alright," wheein finally stopped.

hyejin began to think. "if we're gonna be friends, then my names hyejin," wheein's head tilted like a puppy.

"thought your name was hwasa," hyejin just groaned. "would you stop asking questions and just trust me," wheein shut up.

"sorry, just tend to pry sometimes,"

sometimes, how about all the time hyejin thought. "yah! you're talking about me in your head right now," wheein let out a tiny pout. "aw you wish," wheein got on her feet again.

first things first, wheein slapped hyejin's arm "thats what you get for making fun of me," she smiled a little.

(let's be honest, if anyone else had hit hyejin, their face would've been painted with pretty blue and purple marks.)

secondly wheein grabbed hyejin's wrist. "where we going?" "won't you trust me?"

wheein could be a serial killer and hyejin would do anything she'd say.

they stopped in front of a vending machine. "how'd i never know this was here?" hyejin looked so happy. "because you never checked," wheein put her hands in her pockets.

"sorry wheein, don't have any money," "it's my treat," "what about class?" "it's a study hall,"

wheein pulled out a dollar and stuck it in the machine. "what do you want?" wheein looked at the delicious snacks.

"honestly you, but i'm up for chips," wheein gagged. "stop that," hyejin cheekily grinned and pressed the chips.

"still have fifty cents, you should get something," wheein thought about it and pressed the gummies.

"and because i graciously didn't get two snacks. we share," wheein looked betrayed. "sorry but i paid," wheein moved her hand before hyejin could get the gummies.

"yeah, you also took away my lunch," "i gave you a choice!"

hyejin ended up winning the fight, because truth be told wheein wanted some chips as well.

the bell had rung and they had finished their snacks. the teacher stood there, waiting for the two to come back.

"explain to me why you were gone for so long!"
