《open your heart》chapter six

"You seriously could've got hurt!"
George expected this. To be sitting on the couch being scolded by Bad.
Quackity had his hands in his lap, folding and fiddling with each other due to nerves. Even he was scared of Bad when he was angry. Then again, who wasn't?
"I know, but we're fine!" George tried to reason, starting to gain a headache from his friends loud tone.
Bad sighed and took a few deep breaths. "You're right, I'm sorry. Do you want me to drive you home?" He asked George.
The brit nodded, glancing at Quackity, "That'll be nice, I'm too tired to drive," He rubbed his forehead in hopes to relieve some sort of pain.
Bad hums and moves beside George to pull the half asleep drunk to his feet. "Wait here, I'll put this idiot in his bed."
George sighed and leaned back into the sofa cushions as Bad took Quackity away. He closed his eyes and tried to think of anything but the growing pain in his head.
Though, maybe he deserved it after drinking again before another work day. He knew it was against the rules yet he still decided to take up Quackity's offer.
He was so stupid and he hated it. First he was questioning how he felt towards the same gender romantically and was wasting his life by drinking with his friends before he had to teach the next day.
He felt tears grow in his eyes. God, he was so frustrated it hurt. So many thoughts swirled in his head and he just wanted it to go away, he wanted everything to be fine but deep down it wasn't.
Bad returned after what felt like hours, coming back with a jacket now wrapped on himself. His presence caused George to quickly rub the tears in his eyes so his friend wouldn't notice.

"Ready?" Bad asked, a sweet smile growing on his face.
"Yeah let's go." George nodded and rose to his feet, heading towards the door and trying to ignore the pain that was all throughout his body.

The car ride was awfully silent. George wasn't used to sitting in the passenger seat of his car so he felt awkward and exposed without the steering wheel in front of him.
Bad hadn't tried to start up a conversation and George hadn't either. It was a rough night for both of them and any sort of talking would break something that shouldn't be broken.
Thankfully George didn't live far from Quackity's place and he let out a sigh of relief when his house came into view. Finally he could take some painkillers and get rid of his nasty headache.
George just hoped his head didn't hurt until the next day because he would be in absolute hell if it did. Especially if the students were causing chaos.
Maybe they'd be nice enough to spare him for one day.
Bad pulled the car into the driveway and parked once they were stopped on the concrete. He took out the keys and looked over at George who was now sinking in his seat.
George turned to him, "Do you want me to call you an uber?" He asked nicely, knowing Bad didn't have a way back now since they took his car.
His older friend shook his head, "No, I can get one myself," Bad reassured, "You go up and sleep okay? Have a good day tomorrow." He slipped out of the car, already pulling out his phone.
George grabbed his keys from the ignition and turned off the car once he was out. He quickly locked the doors behind him as he started up the driveway, "Bye, Bad," He waved to the older man on the phone as he walked.

George got a wave back and he smiled as he walked up to the door and stuck the key in the hole. He was so tired and in pain that everything felt difficult.
He was feeling light-headed and he had to grasp the wall just so he didn't fall over. This just proved how weak he was.
George made his way into the kitchen with slight struggle, managing to walk without falling over or needing the wall.
Tomorrow's work day scared him and he wasn't ready for it. Would Dream comment on his appearance if he randomly showed up in his class again? Would he think George was weird for acting like a irresponsible adult?
He didn't want to imagine that right now.
George wouldn't stop beating himself up for it. It was karma anyways. This couldn't happen again, he was just lucky he had a friend to save his ass.
"Fucking hell." He mumbled under his breath as he pulls open a drawer below the counter and grabs the familiar bottle of relief.
His mind was everywhere as he swallowed them dry. He hated this feeling of stress and exhaustion because all he wanted to do was climb into a hole, bury himself in dirt and sleep forever.
His hands were shaking and his head was spinning. He was surprised he hadn't fallen and passed out by now. The alcohol had really gotten to him.
After the pills were swallowed and his stuff was deposited on the island counter, he left the kitchen and headed towards his bedroom.
It seemed to be glowing and sparkling in white paradise because it felt like heaven once he entered the room. It felt like he had fallen into a fluffy cloud and died as he collapsed on his bed.
Finally he could sleep away the pain and hope he would feel better in the morning.

In the other, we have the staff of the Silver Wheel, who seek to return to a time before their discovery and exploitation at the hands of mortals... using any means necessary. These two forces clash for the soul of the Silver Wheel in matches of wit and fortitude, forging strange alliances and suffering harsh betrayals. But when your battlefield’s a poker table, a little bad luck is sometimes all it takes to ruin even the best-laid plans… You can read part one right here, and part three here. The Gatekeeper
Quick Synopsis:This is the story of Reylor, a god-like existence who lost a great portion of his strength when accidentally sent from his “home” to another world. Making friends and learning to harness to power of magic, he maintains his commitment to his prior duty and proceeds to fight against corruption, both on a political front and against what is known as the shade.(Note, this story focuses on action and adventure, so politics are not in depth) This has been my first novel, which was primarilly inteded as a learning experience, and so it may be a bit rough in regards, but it should definitely be readable and it is a full story. I may make some adjustments to it later on, but there's no guarantee... anyhow, it's free to read, so give it a go! Also, feel free to check out my new website: aretornovels.wordpress.com

A Traveler's Tale
Heroes. Villains. Magic. It's a story we've heard told time and again, each a near copy of the last. You know the story, but what if it was told from an entirely new perspective? What if it didn't follow the hero? What if, and bear with me here: I told it instead? My name is Daniel, and I'm just a simple merchant with quite the story to share...
