《Frenemies》Chapter 12: The REAL Peace Offering

Jungkook switched your timing to arrive from 4:30 am to the regular, 6 am. Having a few more hours added onto your sleeping schedule was refreshing to say the least, but it was still exhausting to have to run, prance, and dance around every moment of every day. From one place to the next...Oh gosh, how I need a car of my own.
Everyone was nicer however. Yoongi would smile at you more, Taehyung would greet you and reply with "thank you" every time you cooked or cleaned certain parts of the home for them. While being seen in the building, helping Lia, Namjoon and Hoseok would have fun with you, tease you, and ruffle at your hair. Jimin would sometimes help you with homework that overwhelmed you, or help you broom if you had too much to balance out. Past it all however, the most important would be, Jin, who would share his food with you.
...and Jungkook, well he did all of the above at some extent. He wasn't over-friendly as he was more awkward than anything else, but he tried and you could see it.
His nervous smiles in your direction were your all-time favourite.
I like Jungkook's smile a lot.
Snapping out of your thoughts, you focused on sweeping and reading through your textbook in the living room space.
Jungkook watched you smile from a distance, tossing in berries into his mouth as he gawked dazed. The maknae smiled a tiny side smile when seeing how lost in your thoughts you seemed to be.
The moment he felt his chest flutter, his smile would fall however.
The image of Jae, the one introduced to him as your boyfriend being the only thing that rang through his mind.
He chewed on the berries slowly.
Jungkook didn't understand that night still...sure, he felt shitty realizing you had a boyfriend—why I did? I don't know, but that's not the point—you were so different around him. It made him almost think of such negative thoughts and images when seeing how you behaved. I hope everything's alright.
Why not just ask her, you ask? Well, because I'm an awkward bumbling idiot around her at the moment. Feeling regret for treating her certain ways for weeks, unlike now...is a hard transition to fall past. Hopefully, if I find it to be my place one day, I'll ask her all the questions I have in my head.
Jungkook watched, lost in his thoughts himself, as you cutely pranced around in the living room space when Jimin, Hoseok, and Namjoon all came to help you out.
You looked happy at the sight of them being so helpful and Jungkook was smiling once again, starting to eat at more berries.
For now, I'll keep my questions to myself. It's not my place.
Yoongi and Jin glanced over at each other, smiling when noticing Jungkook gawking at you for like the millionth time this week.
Taehyung simply focused on all the berries that went in Jungkook's mouth. The man was hungry and yet was too lazy to reach over and put berries in his own mouth.
"I'm glad everyone's getting along," Jungkook said softly, pursing his lips a little as he moved to pop a few berries into Taehyung's mouth.
The boy smiled instantly, chewing away.
Jungkook chuckled before looking over at Yoongi who winked at him.
"Yes," Yoongi sighed, genuine, "I'm glad things are falling into place."
-
You moved to Yoongi's room the minute all the boys had left for meetings. It felt great to know they completely trusted you to be around their belongings at this point.

Sighing, you made it a mission to go towards the bathroom. Normally, you wouldn't stop in your tracks, but today, you did. You saw something you had faced a long time ago when experiencing the work with Bangtan.
You found a note on the closed lid of Yoongi's toilet all over again.
You grew nervous.
Last time you checked, Yoongi had been kind to you...please don't be another clogged up toilet. I thought we were going somewhere Yoongi oppa! Heck, I've even started calling you oppa!
Moaning in frustration internally, you glanced down at the note that sat on top of the white lid. Sighing, you flipped at it and read what it said.
"The REAL Peace offering" it read.
You squinted at your eyes. Here goes nothing, you sighed to yourself, using your pinky to lift at the lid, finger pinching at your nose immediately.
Looking over at the bowl that individuals called a toilet, your eyes relaxed at what you saw and smelt.
Nothing—absolutely nothing.
You smiled, gladly putting this note into your pocket.
"I'm okay with this offering," you sighed out, smiling as your lips pursed together.
I'm glad things are starting to fall into place...
-
Once everything's in place, I'll be free. Freedom here I come!
They say when you're happy everything seems so exaggerated, joyful, and alive. And they were right, because you stride to your school doors, later than ever, still so happy and relaxed.
You know why I'm not stressing?
Guess.
You grinned.
Today, like the past week, have all been great. I've grown to almost befriend the same 7 boys that disliked me earlier. Now, in this point in time, things were looking for the better and you were glad.
With all this positivity in your life thus far, the negative points (Jae as an example) didn't mean much.
You were headed off to a busy day at school, and the boys were probably sorting out outfits for their big day at concert a few days from now...things were tough, but they were getting grossed with anticipation all together.
Practically hopping your way towards the front doors, your smile was pushed and sealed when a hand suddenly wrapped tightly around your mouth.
You gasped, eyes gauging and growing huge in shock.
You let out a panicked and muffled scream into the hand that clasped your lips shut—only to suddenly pull you away from the school's door; snatching you from the happy train of thoughts you were having a marathon of.
-
"Hold in your breaths and try not to scream," Lia chimed excited as she brought out a huge rack out for the two who sat before her.
Namjoon and Jin glanced over at each other, smiling a little over Lia's excitement as she showed them all the clothing she had set out for the two.
"For this concert some crew is flying aboard as well, I've got an entire different set of styles prepared for all members," Lia chimed, cheeks going red a little when noticing Jin's eyes roaming up and down her form.
In her mind, he was probably just trying not to laugh over how dorky she was being over jeans and tops, but in reality, he truly did find her cute.
"The Japan fans won't know what hit them," Lia chirped, giggling as she turned to show each outfit for all the four sets the concert was going to be divided into.
"How long did it take you to do this?" Jin chuckled out, brows cocked when seeing how red Lia's cheeks were getting.

Namjoon pursed his lips from laughing when noticing the girl's nose starting to redden as well.
"Usually about three hours minimum," Lia said, smiling as she sorted and checked for all sets to be present, "but this time, it was quite less since..."
She trailed off, her eyes narrowing when spotting that a few jackets seemed to be missing near the end of the rack.
Namjoon and Jin glanced at each other, confused over why the muscles in the girl's arms slowly went limp.
"...since Y/N helped me out..." Lia finished, eyes softening when trying her hardest to look around the rack. The jackets probably fell around somewhere right?
"What's wrong?" Jin asked, voice causing Lia to internally sigh.
-
"What's wrong?" the voice laughed out loudly, seeing how flailing you were getting well trying to break free of the hold.
You scoffed, shoving at the woman that had purposely tried to scare your earlier food out of your system.
"I don't know," you chimed, shoving the woman again as you tried to bite back a smile, "had my life flash before my eyes just now, but I guess that's no big deal to you."
"Just thought I'd sneak up behind you sweetly, ts'all."
"How sweeeet," you sarcastically mumbled, lightly having your tiny closed fist punch at her shoulder again.
Vee simply smiled, her eyes gleaming. Her upper lip seemed to twitch however, almost as if the smile on her face was drastically forced.
You snorted.
"What? Your dog die?"
You chuckled a little, only to view the upper lip starting to tremble. Your face fell immediately.
"Oh fuck, you don't actually have a dog that died right?" you barked, (lmao, see what I did there? I'm a dork) eyes flying away with the seagulls that roamed the clouds above you, your eyes were wide.
Vee laughed, but it was the faker than certain butts you had spotted walking around this morning...they were still flawless and mouth-watering though, don't get me wrong.
"Seriously, what's up?" you tried.
"Nothing," Vee chimed, rolling her eyes as she tried to drag you away from the entrance more than she already had, "just missed you so much."
Your eyes narrowed, a cunning smile falling onto your lips as she dragged you away.
"We gon' have sex as a 'welcome back' present?" you piped, double checking over your shoulder.
You had to stare over at the entrance a few times, debating if skipping more of the class was a smart move at this point or not.
Vee ignored you, laughing.
"No, we'll talk instead."
"Always stuck in the friend-zone," you mumbled playfully, screeching a little as she pulled you closer towards her and kidnaped you away from what you were meant to be doing.
"'Always' is an understatement," she playfully shot back.
-
"Overstatement," Jin mumbled, glaring over at Namjoon who was still trying to get information out of Lia who was running around before them.
"Judge me all you want," Namjoon snapped out, glancing around the floors of the room as well, "we've got jackets missing...I know it might be hard to believe now but the only thing we know is that Lia was working with Y/N the time they set this up."
"Guys?"
Namjoon and Jin snapped their heads over to the woman who was trying her hardest not to let disappointment rage within her.
"What? You find them?" Jin piped, wanting so bad not to jump to conclusions and think of you as the culprit.
Lia turned around, eyes soft but pout growing.
"I found an empty rack."
"So?" Namjoon piped, although he knew exactly what that meant.
"We're missing Jimin and Taehyung's stack for the concert..." Lia trailed off, eyes watering.
Jin was the only one trying to logically sort the issue, as the others in the room become emotional instantly..."Maybe Jimin and Taehyung took the rack? When'd they meet you in here?"
Lia swallowed, "they met me before Y/N helped out...Y/N was the last one in here with me."
Namjoon's jaw concealed shut. His eyes went abruptly harsh.
-
"Don't give me that look," you chuckled out, sitting next to Vee who sat next to you on the wooden benches that strung along the pathways of the school.
"Sorry, just missed you," Vee sighed out, eyes tired yet smile awake.
Your eyes narrowed. "There's seriously something wrong with you right now," you started, teasing to lighten the situation, "but I'll avoid it for now so you don't feel pressured to tell me...just know, I'm all ears whenever you wanna spill."
Vee smiled, quite sadly at that, her eyes searching all of your face. The looks she was giving you was almost like a puppy seeing their owner after years of separation, that on its own making you worried. But you swallowed down that concern to respect her space, all while trying to get away from how awkward her long-gazing stares were giving you.
"I care for you," Vee said smiling, "you know that right?"
You grinned. "Am I finally sneaking away from the friend-zone?" you chimed, teasing as you wiggled your brows.
Vee rolled her eyes, laughing. So the usual when around me, you laughed mentally.
"I'm serious."
"Good to know."
"Good," she sighed, moving a hand through her long soft locks.
It went quiet.
"You shouldn't trust me much though," Vee said, grinning a little side grin as she glanced over at you from her stance.
Your brows furrowed at that.
Vee smiled forcefully , her mind thinking of Jae and all that he had done.
All that he was still planning to do...
"You're being real weird..." you trailed off, eyes permanently squinted at this point.
The beautiful woman close to you shook her head in agreement.
"My weirdness might get worse," she teased, yet her eyes were dead, "just for your future reference."
"Noted," you popped, incredibly awkward and confused.
"Great," Vee popped back, sharing the awkward atmosphere.
-
"Great!"
Jin bit his lip, staring at Namjoon who was having a total mental breakdown in front of a crying Lia...
"M-Maybe I just lost it?" Lia tried, not wanting the blame to be focused on you immediately.
"You didn't!" Namjoon yelled, a little too loudly.
Lia's eyes framed large as she jumped, a tear rolling down her cheek. Cutely wiping at her cheek when Namjoon awkwardly cooled down almost immediately, she nodded when he apologized softly.
Jin watched as the boy bowed, apologizing. Wanting to laugh, he refrained from doing so, seeing how inappropriate it would be since the woman was still upset and overwhelmed.
Getting up from his spot, Jin stood next to Lia, gently holding her arm as he rubbed at the tops of her sweater she had on. He smiled down at her when she snapped her view in his direction.
"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet, mayb—"
"Fine, okay," Namjoon took in a deep breath, rage spilling into his guts, "yes, yes, we shouldn't jump to conclusions yet."
Jin's lips curved up in helps to have the both in front of him ease up.
"Maybe I lost them, or mayb—" Lia tried again, only to be cut off by Jin's hand moving up to have her quiet.
"We can't jump to thinking Y/N stole the whole rack of clothing," Jin started, voice stern, "...but we can have it as a clear suspicion."
