《The Alteras Games: World Jumper Book 2》Chapter 8

Jet felt like a robot. Make a step, step down, and repeat. It had already been a week or two. At this point, he had no idea. He had no idea how long it had been since he had seen the others. A mile down was far. Jet was finding out.
A flicker of light made Jet stop. He picked up the lantern that had started to flicker. "Guess we should head back, right Alex?" Looking back up the stairs, he sighed. "Alex, I don't feel like you're holding up your end of the conversation." Jet waited for an answer, and none came.
Jet created a fireball for light and started his jog up the stairs. The others were at the home he had built for them. Jeff's magic was interesting. For starters, he could find almost any mineral around. Not that they had found one he couldn't. The last time Jet had seen him. Jeff could reshape the metals, which come in handy when they found some gold. It turns out you could bribe the Forman for extra food. Now creating a coin for the bribe had been fun. Jet pickpocketed the Forman for a coin, so Jeff had something to copy.
After about three hours of jogging, Jet stopped. Something had shined off in the distance. Putting out his fire, he stood in the dark and stared off where he saw something. That something seems to be getting closer or bigger. Suddenly a ghost stood in front of Jet. Standing in the air. He had no clue what to do.
The ghostly figure cocked her head, looking down at him. Pieces of her stretched as if she was a broken television. She blinked and leaned down. "War&/$-, !&:tem [email protected];u$e." The ghost seemed to stretch and crack before disappearing.
"Well, that was ominous." Jet said slowly, not sure what to think about whatever happened. Looking around slowly for anything else odd. After a few seconds, he made a new fireball for light and decided to run the rest of the way.
Once he had reached the balcony, Jet sighed in relief. That had been one long run back up. He walked over to the entrance of his home, or just what he called it, because he made the place. But technically, it was all their home. It was dark, so everyone must be out. So he walked in, ready to heat the bath and take a nap.
"Who are you?" A gravely voice asked.
Jet turned slowly to find an older gentleman walking out of his room. "Jet, and you are?"
"Hogan, Kayley said you may come by." Hogan looked Jet up and down.
"Aww, another stray. Anyone else I should know about?" Jet figured now he would have to make a new room for himself.
"Who you calling a stray?" Hogan said, offended.
"You, now I'm going to take a bath. Need to get ghost particles off me." Jet waved and headed towards the bathing room. As he walked over to the room, he noticed the place where he kept drinking water was low. He had no idea where the water came from. The center of the pillar had it flowing through it. So he takes some of it and then seals it back up. Though from the state of the water, he may leave a small hole. But then there would be a problem with dirty water. He can't clean it while he is gone, so he made a bigger container.

After his bath, when he walked out, Hogan was at the table. "I cleaned the water and heated it if you want a bath." Before Jet had even finished, Hogan had gotten up and entered the bathing room.
Jet walked over to Jeff's room to sleep. Not trusting Hogan, he made bars out of stone on the entrance. Then went to bed and fell asleep. The next thing he knew, there was a field of grass and a giant glass ball with Alex in the middle. He walked over and tapped on the ball.
"What is going on?" Jet wondered aloud. He walked around the glass ball to see if Alex was hurt. "Hey, Alex." He yelled at the ball.
Jet sighed an hour later as he walked around Alex several times. 'I guess I could try breaking the glass ball. But what if it hurts her?' So he just sat down and crossed his legs.
About a half hour later, he got back up. Jet tried to create a stone spike, and nothing happened. "Oh, come on, this is my mind. I should be able to use magic." He complained and tried other spells, but nothing worked.
After what felt like another hour of pondering what to do, Jet punched the glass. "Oh, fuck, that hurt." He jumped around, shaking his now bleeding hand. Then he suddenly stopped. "My hand is bleeding." Jet made sure he hadn't broken his hand. But it was odd that it had even hurt. "What is going on here?"
Jet's eyebrow raised when his name started to echo, which was insane since he was on a field. Not in a forest. His name kept getting louder and louder until he woke up.
"Wake up, Jet," Jeff yelled into his room.
"Alright, I'm up." Jet was hoping for some sleep. But he felt as if he had not gotten any. He winced when he moved his hand, realizing it was bleeding.
"Hey Jetsford, welcome back," Kayley yelled into the room.
Jet sighed and got up. "Just call me Jet." This is why he hadn't given her his full name. He winced again, moving his hand. "This will be interesting to explain."
"Hey, get away from her," Jeff yelled.
"Give me all your food now." A man yelled.
Jet did not recognize the voice and immediately went to see what was happening. Then he got held up, forgetting that he had caged himself in. He could hear a tussle going on, so he blew the rock bars away and walked out.
"Tulle, no," Jeff yelled as he reached for her.
Time slowed for Jet as he went into overdrive. Kayley looked to be beating some guy up while Jeff was trying to grab Tulle. Who was about to go over the railing. It looked like she had been pushed back when Kayley attacked the man. Before Jet had even got halfway to them, Tulle had gone back over, and it looked like Jeff was about to dive after her.

World Breaker appeared in Jet's hand as he ran after Tulle. While he went by the man that had attacked them, he slashed the sword across his neck. Then with his right hand grabbed Jeff throwing him back, and with that, he jumped over the railing. "Don't wait up." He yelled as he went over.
Black that is all he could see. It had been foolish to jump after the girl. 'How long does it take to fall a mile?' Jet questioned as he fell. 'Not long, if I remember right.' He created a fireball and tossed it, hoping he wouldn't hit Tulle. Luck was on Tulle's side. It went right between her legs. He used wind to force himself down to grab her. "Tulle, hold onto me tightly."
Tulle did not hesitate to put Jet in a death grip. Jet, however, was freaking out. His fireball had already disappeared below them. They were nearing the ground faster than he had thought. He created another fireball to produce light. Right then, they went by the stairs he had made. 'Wow, I had no idea I had gone around the pillar.'
Using wind, Jet pushed himself towards the wall. He had no clue if it would work, but he jammed World Breaker into the wall to slow them down. "Crap." Jet cursed. The sword cut the wall like it was butter. "Tulle, this is going to hurt." Jet kicked off the wall and turned in the air, so his back faced the ground. He didn't know how close the ground was. He compressed the air behind himself. Not wanting to use an explosive fireball this time. The world slowed even more, and Jet made another fireball to toss down. It disappeared far too fast. They had to be very close to the ground. So he released the compressed air.
Jet had no idea how much time had passed. But it couldn't have been long since his first breath he inhaled water. Luckily the water wasn't too deep, so all he had to do was sit up. After coughing out all the water, he looked around in confusion for a few seconds. He couldn't see anything at all. Then he remembered what had happened. "Tulle, Tulle, do you hear me?" He croaked out in a weak voice.
After a few seconds, Jet lit up his hair. It looked like it had caught fire, but magic was coming out of his hair. "Tulle." He got to his feet and fell back down. That's also about when he realized his right arm didn't work. How he hadn't noticed before just showed how confused he had been.
Something floating caught Jet's attention, and he freaked out when he saw it was a body. He crawled to the body and flipped it over. It was not Tulle. "Geez, where you at Tulle?" Jeff was going to kill him if anything happened to her.
"Over here," Tulle yelled at Jet.
"Tulle, keep talking so I can find you." Jet called back.
"Kind of hard." She panted heavily.
Jet crawled to where he thought her voice was coming from. "What's wrong?"
"Hard to breathe." She replied.
When Jet got to Tulle, she was leaning on one of the pillars. She looked as pale as a ghost. The freezing water that was knee-deep probably didn't help. Shaking his head to clear it, he pushed all the water away and off them. To keep it from flowing back, he built a stone wall around them.
"It doesn't look too bad." Jet told her as he looked her over. However, Tulle was in bad shape. Her left arm looked to have some deep scratches, and her ribs looked to be bleeding. He gently reached down and unbuttoned her coat. "Need to check your ribs." Tulle didn't answer and looked at him in horror. 'Poor girl must be in shock.'
Jet never realized how hard it was to unbutton something with one hand. 'Fucking arm had to go and break at all times.' He complained while he got Tulle's coat unbuttoned. When he pulled up the shirt, he was relieved to find small scrapes. One of the ribs may be cracked, but nothing life-threatening except maybe the cold. He heated the area so she wouldn't freeze to death.
"Jet, your hurt." Tulle said slowly, teeth clattering.
"Don't worry about me. I've been hurt several times now. We need to fix you up. You probably don't have the pain tolerance I have." Jet got to work trying to patch her up the best he could. Tulle would help with the bandages, but for some reason, she wouldn't stop looking at him. As he worked on her more, his vision got black around the corners. 'Think I'd better get started on myself before I pass out.'
"Jet, maybe you should lie down. You look as if you're going to pass out any second. Not that I would blame you for losing an arm." Tulle tried to hold him steady.
Jet just stared at her. 'What is she talking about? My arm is just broken. I can still feel my arm.' He looked over to his arm. His right arm was not there. "But I can still feel my arm." The blood started to flow more freely from his arm now. His body enhancements began to fall off as his consciousness faded. So Jet shook himself to try and stay awake. "Tulle, you're going to have to fix me up. Once I collapse and my body enhancement falls off, I'll bleed out."
