"Look out." Jet had no idea who had said that. But he turned out of habit readying for anything, which happened to be three people, a man, and two women. One of the women was standing behind the other two. Who had knives about to stab Jet.

Jet kept going with his turn around, letting the woman's knife slide by him. As it slipped by, he grabbed her hand, redirecting the blade into her gut. The man turned and jabbed his knife at him. Jet grabbed the cleaver off his belt, and it changed shape to a knife. Redirecting the man's blade by grabbing his wrist. Jet stepped forward, stabbing the man in the chest. The Meat Cleaver slid through the man's chest with little resistance.

As the man slid off, the knife Jet turned to the last person. The poor woman jumped backward, hitting the railing of the balcony. She screamed as she fell over. Screams echoed throughout the place as she fell into the darkness. Jet, now at the railing, had tried to grab her but was too late. When Jet turned around, Jeff and Kayley were behind him.

"I can't believe you pushed that woman off the balcony." Jeff looked at Jet in horror.

"The fuck I did. I was trying to catch her." Jet shot down that accusation.

"From where I was standing, it looked like you pushed her." Kayley's raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't. She wasn't even armed. The poor woman jumped back and went over the railing." Jet explained. Then shut up when he noticed someone was crying. They all turned to shine the light on the woman stabbed in the gut.

Jeff was the first to run over to her. He immediately put pressure on her stomach where she had been stabbed. "Hang on. You'll be alright."

Jet walked over and picked up the knife. It was just a sharpened piece of obsidian. Now that he got a good look at them. They were both thin and looked like they were half starved.

"We were just so hungry." The woman said.

"Then you should have asked for food. Coming at me with a sharp rock, not the way to do things." Jet pointed out.

"Didn't plan to kill you. Just hurt you." She croaked out in a weak voice.

"Don't worry. We will help you." Jeff said, trying to make her comfortable.

"Jefferson, that wound could be a serious injury." Kayley pointed out the obvious.

"It is. She most likely is in a lot of pain. Probably feels like she is burning from the inside." Jet could see from her eyes he had punctured her gut.

"Jet, you didn't have to go so far." Jeff looked Jet in the eyes.

"Now that's not fair. Jet had just been reacting to a bad situation." Kayley said.

"Jet has the strength to handle a situation without killing people in this state," Jeff growled.

Jet just frowned and walked away, not wanting to argue. All he had done was react to the situation. To be honest, he didn't even feel bad for the woman that had fallen. Not even feeling bad in the slightest, he raised the railing a foot just in case. "Damnit." He cursed, looking into the dark.

"Hey, it isn't your fault." Kayley had snuck up behind him.

"Yes, it is. It was just me reacting." Jet leaned onto the now higher railing. "Don't worry about Jeff being so angry. He is a better person than I am."

"It was self-defense." She started.

Jet chuckled, then looked back at Kayley. "Don't worry about it. Killing seems to come naturally to me. Jeff, on the other hand, has a mindset that everyone can be saved. Ever since I've known him, he has tried to help people."

Kayley walked over and leaned on the railing. "You were the one he couldn't save. From what I can tell, you two have a weird relationship."

"Not really. We just broke apart after my parents died. His hero attitude got on my nerves. Why couldn't a hero save my parents? But it turned out my hero was a few minutes late." Jet dreamed about that night now. It was why he had trouble sleeping. Well, not that he couldn't fall asleep. That was easy. That memory just haunted him now.

"That's interesting. According to Jefferson, your hero is someone called Amanda."

"How have you guys talked so much already? We just met a few days ago." Jet had almost said a few weeks ago. The world just felt off for some reason. "Hey, why does time feel so off here?"

"I told you it has something to do with some of the metals here, or that's what I have been told. I've seen some weird things since I've been here." Kayley stopped when Jeff walked over to lean on the railing.

"She is gone now. What should we do with the bodies?" Jeff clasped his now bloody hands in front of him.

"Not sure. We could toss them off the ledge?" Kayley half asked.

Jeff looked around and sighed. "What else can we do?"

Jet stepped away and walked over to the bodies. Throwing them over the balcony into to darkness would not affect him. But that just seemed wrong even for him. Now he couldn't bury them in the balcony. They would fall through the bottom. Not to mention weaken the balcony. So he gently picked up the woman and walked over to the wall.

"Jet, if you are about to do what I think your doing. Could you do it to the wall on the other side of the bridge?" Kayley asked.

"What are you doing?" Jeff asked.

"I was going to bury them in the walls, and yes, Kayley, I'll go across the bridge." Jet started to walk to the bridge.

"Sorry, I don't want to sleep near a grave. Bad luck." Kayley grabbed Jeff's arm taking him to the other body.

Jet, in the meantime, got to work burying the woman in the wall. It looked odd as if she was sinking into the wall. The rock moved around her as if it was liquid. 'Should I feel bad for killing her?' He thought as she disappeared into the wall. 'I should, but I don't.' Jet sighed at the lack of empathy he had.

"That was so creepy." Kayley just stared at the spot the woman used to be. "It looked like the wall absorbed her."

Jeff nodded in agreement. "Sorry for going off on you."

"It's ok." Jet said while grabbing the man to bury him in the wall. "This is a little creepy. Should I mark the spot?"

"No, if it looks like there is something here. People will start to mine. Let them Rest In Peace." Jeff put a hand on the wall.

"Ok, I'm going to take a nap. If I go any lower on magic, it will take far longer to recharge." Jet looked at both of them.

"Why would it take longer?" Kayley asked curiously.

"If I go below thirty percent of my magic, the time it takes me to get it back triples. More if I use it all up. Also, the cores in my body get strained." Jet explained.

"That is odd. Then how come you're able to get your magic back so fast? Weren't you bad off when we got here?" Jeff pointed out.

"Yes, it is odd. Something about this world is healing me. I don't know why." Jet said.

"Maybe it has to be the magic in the air. You said it was more abundant here." Kayley added.

"That would be a good reason. But I create my own magic. Not like you who takes it from the air." Jet just couldn't quite figure out what was going on. "Anyways, you two find as much stuff as you can. By the end of the week, I want to start training with you both."

"Jet before you go. How come you didn't see those three? You had been looking around with your magic sight." Jeff asked.

"Simple, the magic in the air is thick here, and none of them had it themselves. It would have been difficult to spot them. When they have their own, it's a different color. Hard to explain." Jet tapped his chin.

"Sounds like trying to find someone in the fog." Kayley thought aloud.

"Oh, you know what fog is?" Jet asked since he had no idea if it rained on this planet.

"Yes, my home had fog. Not that I've seen any here. Come to think of it. I've never seen a cloud here. All these years, I wouldn't mind seeing snow again." Kayley got a faraway look.

They split up, and Jet went off to take a nap. Then he got to work on his projects. The first two days he spent making them a place to stay. No one else had bothered them since the first day. Sure enough, after a week, they were still down in the pits. It probably didn't help that they brought in more than others. Jeff could find almost anything around the place. Even some gold that could be used for bribes.

Jet frowned as he created the small room for them. He uncovered a spot with iron, but it was smooth. Taking away more of the rock, it turned out to be cylindrical. Moving the rock away both ways, it didn't end. "How odd." Jet put a hand on it and felt a small electrical current. "I'll need to warn them not to touch this."

"Touch what?" Kayley asked from behind him.

Jet slightly jumped, not expecting Kayley right behind him. "Geez, Rick will kill me if he ever finds out how many people have snuck up on me. If he is still alive." He whispered the last part.

"Oh, who is this, Rick?"

"My Master, he taught me almost everything I know. Some of my sword training was done by another." Jet was not going to mention his other less reputable training.

"Wow, better hope he never finds out that you call him by his first name. My Master would have quite a fit. I also don't know if she is alive." Kayley did not whisper like Jet.

"Believe it or not, I called the King by his first name in front of people. They were good people. Like a second family, and I couldn't even protect Ileana." Jet frowned at the memory.

"Oh, this is not going as planned. The more we talk, the more you get down. I'm supposed to be getting your hopes up." Kayley played with her hands.

"Really? Why do I need cheering," Jet stopped as Jeff walked in with a little girl. She couldn't have been more than thirteen. "Wow, time is screwed up here."

Kayley's eyebrows scrunched up at what Jet had said. Jeff, on the other hand, just shook his head. "Not funny, we heard someone crying. So me and Kayley went to find the source. We found her sitting in a small cave." Jeff explained.

"Hi." The girl said weakly.

Jet opened his mouth to say hi back. But the slap across the face stopped him. "What was that for."

"I just realized what you had said. I can't believe you would insinuate such a thing." Kayley crossed her arms and walked away.

"Welcome to the party. Do you have any questions?" Jet asked the girl. "Also, a name would be nice."

"I'm Tulle."

"Ok great." Jet clapped his hands. "I'm Jet, this is Kayley, and the one behind you is Jeff."

"I can't understand, Jeff." Tulle pointed at him.

"Give me a second." Jet reached out with his mind towards Jeff. That had no effect. So he tried to imagine his power to talk to everyone expanding. Not sure if it had worked, he asked. "Jeff, talk to Tulle."

"What are you going on about?" Jeff asked back.

Tulle had jumped when Jeff spoke. "I know what you're saying."

"How did you do it, Jet?" Jeff asked.

Jet opened then shut his mouth. He didn't know how to explain what he had done. Since he had just tried it in hopes that his power would go to others, so he went with the simplest answer. "It's magic."
