I was walking with Cristina to her locker and I was so excited to meet her new boyfriend.

"What's he look like?" I asked excitedly.

"Well, he's pale, has green eyes, dark brown hair that's kind of styled like Ponyboy from the outsiders." We got to her locker and she started putting in her combination.

"Ooooooh, you snagged a cute one from what it sounds like."

"Oh you don't even know."

"Tell me about his personality." I leaned up against the lockers.

"Oh Topanga he's super sweet and so interesting. With him it's like we could talk forever and never run out of things to say to each other." She opened her locker and grabbed the book we are reading for english class out along with a biology textbook.

"Okay but the most important thing. How does he treat you? As your friend, your emotional security is one of my top priorities." I gave her a serious look.

"He treats me great, he's just an all around gentlemen."

"Do you trust him?"

"Topy that's a pretty heavy question."

"Just thought i'd ask since you two are gonna be going to school together now."

"We've only been going out for a month. Trust is built over time Topanga."

"Are you willing to put in the time?"

"Yes."

"Is he willing to put in the time?"

"Yes." To be honest she didn't look 100% sure on that, but I still had to be supportive.

"Good then that's all that matters." She closed her locker and we saw Cory and Shawn by Turners class. We walked over and I gave Cory a quick peck on the lips.

"How ya doing honey?" Cory said.

I giggled. "I'm great."

"What were you guys talking about?" Shawn asked.

"Derek. He's gonna transfer during 2nd period and get his schedule arranged so Topanga just wanted me to tell her a bit more about him."

"Right today's Monday." Shawn said, it was weird though how I couldn't read his expression. Something was off with him lately.

"I really hope you guys like him he's super sweet and funny and i'm so excited."

"If what you say about him is true then i'm sure we will." I assured.

The bell rang. "Okay, if none of you see him before lunch because he has different classes, just know I invited him to sit with the four of us at lunch." She looked so excited.

"Okay sounds cool. Bye Cristina."

"Ya know Topy, we've known each other for as long as i've known the boys you can call me Cris."

"Well then. Bye, Cris." We both smiled and went to our classes. Please let today go well.

Cris, Shawn, Cory, and I were talking at the lunch tables and Cris seemed really distracted. "Cris are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah I just thought Derek would be here by no—" Some guy walked up from behind her and put his hands over her eyes.

"Guess who!" She smiled and removed his hands.

"Derek!" She shot up and hugged him. "Guys this is Derek. Derek this is Topanga, Cory, and Shawn." She pointed to each one of us as she said our names.

He made eye contact with me and I instantly felt uneasy. "Nice to meet you." I lied, something about him was throwing me off a bit and I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Nice to meet you guys." He sat down next to Cris and we all just had some small talk until the bell rang.

"Ugh lunch is over already?" Cris groaned. I was happy it was over to be honest. Something in my gut told me not to trust this guy. "Derek what's your next class."

"Algebra with Ms. Lee."

"Great I have that too, i'll walk you there. Bye guys."

"Bye." I stood up quickly. "Cory, Shawn, can you walk me to my next class?" I wasn't sure if she was still within earshot so we walked for a bit before I spoke up. "Is it just me or did he give you guys a weird vibe."

"I don't trust him." Cory said.

"You guys it doesn't matter if we don't like him, she likes him." Shawn said.

"Shawn why are you being like this?" Cory said.

"Wait what's going on?" I was so confused. Why was Cory so upset, and why was Shawn not being protective of her? "Did I miss something?"

Cory looked at Shawn. Shawn nodded. "We can tell her Cor." He turned to me. "Lately i've started having feelings for Cristina." Oh. My. God. That explains so much.

"Shawn." I rubbed his arm. "How are you being so okay with this?"

"Topanga he's been like this for weeks now. He thinks that if he puts his feelings aside and doesn't say anything that he's making her happy or something."

"Cor, i'm doing this to protect our friendship."

"Well you're not doing a very good job." I said.

He looked at me offended. "Excuse me?"

"I get that you're trying to separate your feelings from your friendship, but you're letting it cloud your judgment."

"What are you saying Topanga." Cory asked me.

"Cory, if you didn't know about Shawn's feelings and you found out she was going out with a guy what would your first thought be?"

"Who is he? I'll kill him."

"Why?"

"Because she's my best friend and as far as i'm concerned she's too good for most of the guys in this town."

"Shawn, if I had told you a year ago, that Cristina got a boyfriend, what would you say?"

"Who is he? I'll kill him." He immediately answered me and realized what he just said.

"So what are you saying Topanga?" Cory suddenly gasped excitedly. "Do we kill him?" He smiled and started tapping the ends of his fingers together like he was plotting something evil.

"No that's not what i'm saying."

Cory frowned and crossed his arms. "Oh fooey."

"We have to support her but it's our job to watch her back."

"Topanga what has gotten into you?" Shawn asked me.

"I don't know. But I told you. I got a bad feeling about him."
