Olivia stood still as Demetri leaned in to kiss her. Hid lips brushed against hers and she closed her eyes as she kissed him back. Olivia could feel the sparks as Demetri kissed her. His one hand went to her waist pulling her closer while the other one went into her hair. Olivia puts her hands around his neck.
Demetri pulls away and leaned his head against hers. His eyes were no longer a bright red, but instead, it was darker. "I wanted to do that since I saw you months ago," Demetri says smiling down at Olivia who stared into his eyes. "I'm glad you did," Olivia says to Demetri who didn't take his eyes away from her.
Demetri was the first one to step back, but he took Olivia's hands in his. He led her towards the bed and they both sat against the headboard. They sat in silence just looking at one another. "When were you changed?" Olivia suddenly asks breaking the silence.
"Was reborn as a vampire somewhere in 1000AD. My creator is Amun, the Egyptian coven leader," Demetri says as he lifted his hand to move a piece of Olivia's hair away from her face. "You're old," Olivia says smiling at Demetri who smiles at her. "I know," Demetri whispered and leaned down to peck her on the lips.
"How did you get here in Volterra?" Olivia asks when Demetri pulls away. "Master Aro and his brothers came to Egypt one day, having heard of a tracker in the area. They wanted to see if it was true. They found me with Amun. They tested my tracking powers for weeks on end, to see if I was good or not. When I passed their test they offered me a position in their guard. I accepted," Demetri says and Olivia nods.

They sat there for hours getting to know one another. The human receptionist at one point brought Olivia food before she left again. Before Olivia knew it, she was fast asleep curled up next to Demetri, who was afraid to move as he didn't want to wake her up.
+Next day+
Olivia woke up the next morning and saw that Demetri was not in the room. On the table next to the bed was a piece of paper.
'Liv
As soon as you wake up, get dressed and eat your breakfast that the human left. After that, Jane will come to get you so you can meet the wives
Love, Demetri'
Olivia smiled and did as he said. She dressed then ate. And as soon as she finished heating a knock came to the door. She stood up and straightened out her dress.
Olivia opened the door and saw Jane. "Come on, Master Aro said that I should take you to the wives while we have a few visitors," Jane says and Olivia nods.
Jane led Olivia to a tower. When Jane knocked a soft voice answered that they may enter. "Mistress Sulpicia, Mistress Athenodora," Jane greeted bowing her head at the two women who sat on chairs at the other side of the room. "Jane," The two women smiled at Jane. One of them locked eyes with Olivia.
"This must be Olivia," She says smiling at Olivia. Olivia smiled and nods. "I am," Olivia says still smiling at the two women. "Master Aro asked me to introduce her to you while we have a few guests downstairs," Jane says and the two women nods. "Come on in dear," One of them says and Olivia enters.
Jane left Olivia with Sulpicia and Athenodora.
Olivia spent the whole day getting to know Sulpicia and Athenodora. They told Olivia that there was another wife, Marcus' wife, Didyme, she was also Aro's sister but Aro killed her to prove Marcus' loyalty to the coven. That explained to Olivia why Marcus looks sad.
Demetri came to get Olivia later that night after his guard shift ended and the two of them spent it in his room either talking and maybe some kissing.

I wrote this when I was 16/17 (which was many years ago now!) on a really old PC I called Phylis. I remember having to print it out on an old ribbon printer to submit it to publishers - this was back before esubs were the norm! It never got picked up and I ended up self publishing it. I hope you enjoy.

The Black Empress
In a hall, so lavishly decorated, even the vatican would bow down in shame, an army of abominations kneeled, motionless. Each and every entity present could defeat all of mankind, single handedly. And yet, the girl in front of them, they could not stand against. So they chose to follow her instead, forming an army strong enough to threaten the gods themselves. The girl leisurely sat on a throne made of the same black fabric, that reality is painted on, her shoulder occupied by a crow with eyes like molten rock. Oh yeah, she looks like a four year old. Who is she? Why gather an army of such tremendous might? This is the story of a thing, that once was a normal girl, but hasn't been for centuries.
