《Burn Archer》Twenty Six- A Tale

Tyson's eyebrows were still raised.
"I'm different." I said with a smile as I laid my head back.
He smiled and did the same. I felt a light tap on my shoulder.
"Did you hear me when I was reacting to my fear?" Eleanor asked looking forward.
I didn't want her to feel embarrassed about it so I lied. "I didn't. Should I have?" Eleanor's biggest fear was not being cared for the same way back.
"No, it wasn't any of your business anyway." She sounded stern and disturbed.
"You know why they call it a crush? Because that's how you feel when they don't feel the same way in return," I repeated silently to myself as I'd done to most of my friends on earth.
I thought back to the few seconds that I believed that my sister had come back to life. Those were probably the most amazing moments of my life, but it was also followed by the devastating sight of her, withering away in blood, and the fact that I had to live with that image glued to my heart for the rest of my life.
"We're going to be reaching in a couple of hours," Sebastian called out.
I breathed out heavily. That was going to the second planet I was going to be visiting that week. I could tell that all my friends were disturbed, having to face their worst fears. I stood up and strolled to Ivory and Sebastian.
"You want me to take the wheel for a bit? You've been on it for hours." I sounded blunt and tired.
"Thanks." He sat on the chair next to Ivory as I grabbed on to the wheel.
"What were your fear scenarios?"
I saw Ivory's face darken and her lips shivered. "Don't worry about it actually," I said realising that they were probably just as frightened as I was.

"No, no," Ivory paused. "I'd rather talk about it than worry myself to death everyday."
From the corner of my eye I saw Sebastian nod. I turned my face towards him and his expression felt cold and unwanted.
"I had to face a Demigod. I've tried beating them every year in training but that's the one thing I always fail at. I don't know why exactly but I get this bad sense about them and it scares the hell out of me."
I gripped the wheel tighter and kept my eyes on the screen in front of me. "What's a Demigod?"
"They're creatures that hang around the universe killing anyone on their path. They have special powers because they're the children of gods."
I scrunched my nose. I remembered the tales about demigods, the description that they gave fitted exactly as to the stories I used to hear.
"Whoa, that's exactly the same as what I've heard. But it's a mythical creature from Earth. How is that even possible?"
"Burn, you need to understand that every creature anyone has thought of, or dreamt about, is all real. It's somewhere out in another parallel universe, or a different planet. It's out there," Sebastian said quietly.
"But how come I've never seen one?"
"You most possibly have but you didn't recognize it. Now that you know about it, you won't be able to look at your world in the same way ever again. Everyone has a secret vision of seeing the real world. Once you unlock it, which you already have, you'll be able see everyone who lives on your planet."
"But that's not possible! Nobody's ever seen anything of that sort."
Sebastian smiled. "See that's the beauty of it. Just because you haven't seen something, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist."

"Take a left from here," Ivory said suddenly.
I turned the wheel sharply to the left and felt my hands heavy. "Sudden much?"
She creased her eyebrows. "Your fear is so meaningful! My one was quite dumb compared to yours. There was a mirror in front of me. In the mirror I was old. I had wrinkles on my face and everything."
I chuckled. "It's so nice knowing that someone can be so light hearted that they have such a sweet fear."
I tried to remember the last time I felt free and light-hearted. "I know that deep, deep, deep down inside, under the strong constructive layer, that you're a happy person," Ivory said putting a hand on my shoulder.
"You guys should go get some sleep. I'll put this on auto mode or something," I commented.
Ivory climbed off her seat and ran to one of the seats next to Tyson who was sound asleep. Sebastian stayed in his place like he wanted to talk more but from the corner of my eyes, I saw Eleanor glaring at us.
My eyes flickered over to Sebastian as I tried avoiding his eye contact. I reached below the controls and pressed the auto button.
I stared at the ground as I stood up. "I'm gonna go get some sleep now."
Without looking at him I strolled over to an empty marble seat and pretended to sleep. I saw Eleanor take my seat next to Ash and they started chatting away.
My eyelids slowly closed, and I felt myself mutter something, but I was too tired to think over it.
