《Burn Archer》Twenty Five- Ressurection

Atlantis strolled towards me. I watched her with my eyes wide open in astonishment as she got closer. Her light brown hair swayed back, and pale skin shone out. The lights caused her eyes to sparkle and her nightie made her look elegant. I realised that she was skipping with a bright smile on her face.

"Atlantis?" I asked. The words barely escaped my mouth and I realised that I was gasping.

She nodded, "I haven't seen you for so long. Why didn't you help me that day, Burn?"

Her voice echoed in my head and my heart thumped. "I'm sorry. I really am. I wish I could have done more."

From the corner of my eye I spotted another dark figure slip from behind the ship. It was a man. He wore a mask and had a knife in his hand.

He began creeping in behind Atlantis and got closer to her. I wasn't going to let her die again. "Atlantis, behind you!"

She spun around in horror and the man grabbed her by the neck.

"Get off her-" My voice trailed off when I realised I couldn't move. I shook my hands ferociously demanding my legs to take a step.

I tried running towards her, but I was trapped. I felt angry- in fact, I was furious. I had to save her; I couldn't let her die again. "Hey! Let me go! I need to save my sister" I roared as I watched him cut her wrist. Blood spilt everywhere. He then cut off her beautiful hair. She screamed and wailed.

"Guys! Help my sister out, please!" I looked over at the others and they were looking in different directions, pretending to fight off other things.

"Don't just pretend to be busy! My sister is dying here."

Without looking away, Sebastian screamed back, "What the hell are you on about?! I'm fighting a huge demon here and none of the others are helping me."

He had his sword out and was slicing through the air.

I glanced over at Tyson. His face was completely red and he was clenching his fists so tight that I could see marks. "We have to get away from here, guys, my father has found us."

I looked around him and there was no sign of any other man. My eyes caught Eleanor who was crying in a corner screaming. "I don't care! I thought you said you only cared of me!"

Ivory seemed as if she was looking at herself in an invisible mirror and she sobbed because she didn't like what she was seeing.

I looked ahead towards Atlantis. Her clothes were being torn off and she was crying. "Burn, help me!"

I looked around the cave in slow motion and back at Atlantis. Now she was covered in blood and her head was bald and she was reaching out to me.

"I miss you Atlantis. But I never wanted to remember you like this."

She stared at me in confusion as she was withering away. I grabbed a knife out of my pocket and threw it to Atlantis. It went right through her and into the masked man.

"You've done well, Burn," she said with a smile as she disappeared.

"This isn't real!" I screamed to the others as tears rolled down my face.

I collapsed to the ground on my knees and buried my face in my hands. I looked up in irritation and all of them were in the same position.

"They aren't real! Just stand up to them and say it to their faces!"

"Burn's right! Just confront it," Ivory shouted as she ran towards me. Soon everyone escaped from their landscapes and we ran towards the spaceship entrance.

Eleanor stared into my eyes with a hint of sadness and she quietly asked, "Those were our worst fears, weren't they?"

"Yeah." That was all could say. I could feel tears smudged on my face and I could see it on the others as well.

"It was a security for the spaceship. Probably so that people who were coward or stupid couldn't get on."

I kept getting flashes of my sister being inches away from me and slipping further away. It finally started falling into place as to why my fear was shown as it was. The entrance slowly opened after Tyson carelessly pressed a large button near the doorway.

We walked inside in silence and observed the inside of the spaceship. It was empty except for a few controls on the centre of the room surrounded by seats.

"I'm driving to that Orange Planet," Sebastian said as he fumbled with the switches. Eleanor and Tyson took a seat next to me.

"So the spaceship we were on that day, it was some sort of prison ship, and now we're going to their planet."

"Yes, and Ivory I need you up here, to help me navigate to the Oagle's Planet," Sebastian called out.

"But that's in another universe. It'll take us like millions of light years to get there."

"See that's where this spaceship comes in. Its' features are so cool that it jumps so that it can cover more distance. It's like a frog. It stretches out and then pulls itself in"

I put my seatbelts on and laid my head on the seat.

Tyson turned towards me. "Yours was about your sister, huh? So that's your worst fear."

I creased my forehead and stare at him for a few seconds blankly. "No, I think mine wasn't the fact that my sister was dying right in front of my eyes, but rather that I couldn't do anything about it. I think my worst fear is not being in control of myself."

I felt as if my life had just been figured out, so I asked him about his.

"My father was standing right in front of me like he was about to hurt me, but I couldn't do anything about it. I didn't want to hurt him. Even though I could have turned into a wolf and eaten him up-"

"Your greatest fear is him taking advantage of it. Again," I breathed out.

He nodded. "Oh look, we're taking off."

I looked out the large screen at the front of the spaceship. I was surprised as to how ordinary riding spaceships felt like to me now. Tyson clicked his fingers in front of my eyes, so I turned my head towards him.

"You know, when you told me that you were human, I wanted to know everything about you. The kinds of people humans were, how earth was like and all that."

"I thought you were frightened?" I asked.

"I was at first. But I saw the fire in your eyes. It's burning with war and revenge. But I also saw innocence. From then on, you haven't failed to surprise me, not once."

We sat in silence for a bit. "Burn?"

"Yeah?" I sat up straight so that I could answer whatever he was about to ask me, in a proper manner.

"How do you see yourself?"

I remembered my class teacher asking the class to write it down on a paper. We were supposed to focus on our positives and write it down on a piece of paper. It was a self-confidence building project. I stared down at the paper and my mind filled with negative things about me. Selfish. Rude. Reckless. Dumb. Weird. Different. I wrote those things down because I couldn't think of a single good thing about me.

Others might say I'm brave but I'm just reckless because I've lost too much, and I'm dumb because I don't think enough.

But sometimes that's all you need. Think less and do more. Maybe I'm wrong, but there's no one to stop me except myself.

Maybe those are the good qualities in me? Being myself.

There's nothing more bad-ass than being myself.
