《Burn Archer》One- The Archers

For the neighbours, I was the peculiar maiden whose head seemed to dance out of control on the most abrupt moments.
A good gossip topic. The tan skin, large light brown eyes, and a petite built they described me as. Behind my back, they referred to me as the bronze girl with the unpleasant attitude.
My hands forced the water from the sink to lash out at my face, which decided to look up at the filthy mirror above the sink. The mirror had inhaled the cool steam, and exhaled the reflection of a foggy girl. Why did I have to be such a plain girl? My eyes instantly peeled away as an uncomfortable sense crept onto me.
I wandered out of the bathroom and frowned at the sight of my bare room. My furniture always snarled at me instead of being friendly enough to invite me in. Families like mine believed that there wasn't any need to show others that we were superior to them in any way.
My eyes searched the room for my goofy best friend. Suddenly, I saw a golden ball of fur bolt towards my feet. "Elliot!" My knees punched into the ground as I stroked his scruffy fur with a smile. "How's my little boy going?"
I wrapped my arms around him and ambled onto the bed. "I got called to the principal's office three times this week. That's gotta be my new record."
Elliot stumbled onto my lap, his playful head tilted up at me as if he waited for me to give him an explanation for my behaviour. I stared into his fiercely loyal eyes and spoke, "The first time, I solved a math equation faster than the teacher because I used the method dad taught me."
"The other time it was because my creativity wasn't ordinary. In a bad way," I added.

I frowned and crossed my arms over my chest. "She told us to draw an example of an extra terrestrial. I drew myself and gave myself a bunch of characteristics. She said that I didn't understand the concept she was trying to get across and then I couldn't help but argue with her," I said with an eye roll.
"The third time, I swear I saw something! I was staring out the window and saw this weird creature. When I went out of the school bounds, a teacher got me into trouble. The principal told me that I should spend more time talking with the other girls."
A shout muffled into my room, so I roughly slammed the door of my bedroom open and heard my mum's voice. ''Burn, come down already, breakfast is ready!''
''Yeah, I'll be down in a sec.''
Families like mine were much simpler and were noble people that contributed to the vast society little proportions at a time that no one ever noticed.
A pair of tight jeans and a black cardigan invited my body. My legs punched each stair as I sprinted down the staircase.
Breakfast. Pancakes, toast and attractiveness. What else would you need?
It was hard to tell if my parents even loved each other at all. On television, they showed how real love must look like; the hugging, closeness and affection but that meant that my parents never showed any form of love. They just talked about boring things and made sure that I was safe.
After breakfast, as usual, the couch invited us and my dad's finger plunged into the ON button for the television. Suddenly, my mum's phone growled and as she rushed to get it, she gestured her fingers towards the TV. I rolled my eyes, she wanted us to mute it which meant that I was missing out on my favourite show.

''Hey Jenny, how's it go- '' she cheerfully exclaimed into the phone before she was seemingly interrupted.
Her face turned pale and was screaming out a silent pain. She fiercely locked her eyes with mine and they pierced into my soul as if she was searching for an answer. I could see her ears twitching as she intensely listened to the screaming on the other end of the phone.
''God bless you for informing us," she cried as her hand found something to rest on because of the weight on her shoulders.
The phone heavily met with the table as my mum lifted her trembling hands off it and shot my dad a troubled look which could only mean one thing. Danger
"Mum, what happen-"
"Hurry up, put the news on!" she exclaimed as she ran to my dad ferociously.
With a ringing scream vibrating in my ear, a sharp knife dropped into my stomach. A feeling overwhelmed my body, and made it drastically exhausted. My predictable guts kicked in and I had a terrible feeling that something very bad was about to happen.
Our would was going to change. Forever
