《MAOS ; No More Secrets》Afterlife

As I begin to wake up, my vision is hazy, and as my vision clears I feel something weird in my skin, and I look down across my body to see glowing acupuncture needles with only a cloth over my chest and a cloth over my waist as I lay down on some kind of bed in a strange room with lit candles everywhere.
"Hey. Everything's gonna be okay. You're safe now." Gordon walks into my eye sight, and I close my eyes as I begin to let the energy from my surface rise from my core "I wouldn't do that." He says to, and I hear him teleport just as I push the energy out of me, and all of the acupuncture needles fly out of my skin.
I then open my eyes to see that the acupuncture needles are in different places imbedded around the room. I then use my right hand to clutch the cloth to my chest as I slowly sit up due to the stiffness my body is at the moment before I place my legs over the edge of the bed with cloth still covering my waist, and Gordon teleports back into the room.
"No offence, but when a stranger I've barely knew for ten hours teleports me into an unknown room and I wake up on a bed almost naked with glowing acupuncture needles imbedded into my skin, I tend to be a lot more wary of said stranger." I explain to her.
"No offence taken." Gordon smiles at me as he sits down in a chair I front of me.
"I've got four questions for you, Gordon. One, where the hell is my sister?" I ask him.
"Next door, Skye is still sleeping." Gordon answers.
"Alright, good... Two, where am I?" I ask him.
"This is the place I told you about. You called for me. Do you remember?" Gordon asks me.
"Yeah, I remember. Three, how long have I been here?" I ask him
"Two days." Gordon says to me, and I look up at him, shocked.
"Two day's. I've got to go, but first, number four, what the hell were you doing to me?" I ask Gordon confused as a man with blonde/ brunette hair and blue eyes walks into the room.
"We're healing you..." The man trails off as he looks around the room to see the glowing acupuncture needles embedded around the room "... Correction, was healing you. And leaving now wouldn't exactly be... You ever made microwave popcorn? Leave it in too long, and it's charcoal. Take it out too soon, and it's a bag of kernels. That might be the worst analogy ever. Gordo, help me out here." He asks Gordon.
"You are on your own with this one. Your sister is waking up, I'll greet her whilst you get dressed. You're in very good hands. He's smarter than he looks." Gordon fake whispers the last bit to me.
"How do you know that?" The man asks Gordon before Gordon teleports out of the room.
"He's been teleporting by yours and your sister's side since the moment you got here." The man explains to me.
"Who are you?" I ask him confused.
"Sorry. I thought... I'm Lincoln, your transitioner. Right. I-I keep forgetting you're new to this. E-everyone who goes through terrigenesis has, uh, a transitioner to help them." Lincoln explains to me.
"Please, just cut to the chase." I say to him.
"Right, yeah. Let me start from the top. Imagine a thousand years of evolution taking place instantaneously. T-that's what happened to you after the mist. These treatments... We're helping your body adjust properly to the change, transitioning you quickly and painlessly, I hope. We usually like to start the process right after the mist, but as-" Lincoln tries to say, but I cut him off.

"-How long?" I ask him, but he looks at me confused "How long? When can I go?" I make myself more clear.
"You got places to be, people to see?" Lincoln smiles at me.
"I'm worried about my friends. I think they're in danger." I admit to him.
"You're the one that's in danger, Lyra. Remember? You're being hunted." Lincoln says to me. Hunted? After Lincoln left and I got changed, I am wrapping my scarf around my neck as I sit on the bed when there is a knock on the door.
"Come in." I say to them, and Lincoln opens the door before Skye walks in.
"Thank god." I say as we rush over to each other before we embrace "Are you alright?" I ask her as we pull away.
"Kind of normal." Skye admits to me, seeming nervous with her surroundings.
"Same here." I show her an assuring smile.
"Normal's good. Yeah. We flushed your lymphatic and circulatory systems, so you'll be weak for a few days, but-" Lincoln tries to say, but I cut him off.
"-We need to give a message to our friends." I say to him.
"Gordon's the only one who can make contact with the outside world. We can talk to him when he gets back." Lincoln assures us before I hold my hand out to him.
"My gun." I say to him.
"Sorry, we don't allow weapons like that here." Lincoln apologises to me.
"It wasn't a question." I say to him.
"I'd give her the gun." Skye says to Lincoln, and he hesitantly sighs before nodding.
"... Second draw down." Lincoln refers to the drawers to my right, and I walk over to it before opening the second draw down, and I open it to reveal my gun.
I then smile as I take it out and open the clip to show there are bullets inside before I put the clip back in and I put it in my holster.
"Where exactly are we?" Skye asks him.
"No one really knows. Uh, the official name is Chinese, I think... Lai Shi... Doesn't exactly translate." Lincoln explains as he walks over to the left side of the room where there are double doors, and he opens it to reveal a balcony, and beyond that it a bright sun and mountains "So we just call it 'Afterlife'." He says to us as we both walk up to the balcony in awe.
After Lincoln lead us out of the building we were in, he is now guiding us towards what looks like a small town where there are what looks like people from all over the world.
"You say the name of this place is Chinese. Are we in China?" I ask him.
"No idea. Gordon's the only one who knows where we are, and he's the only way in or out. It keeps us secret and safe from the outside world." Lincoln explains to us.
"Or it keeps us prisoners." I state.
"You're not very trusting, are you?" Lincoln smiles.
"I woke up naked on a table in a place no one can even point to on a map, so... Call me crazy." I say to him.
"You, too huh?" Skye asks me.
"You weren't totally naked, and you asked Gordon to bring you here. No one's gonna force you to stay. It's not a bad place. The night life's a little lacking." Lincoln explains.
"So you live here?" I ask him.

"No one lives here not permanently. It's more like a way station. I'm from Cincinnati, trying to finish Med School. I'm brought here when I'm needed. Some people come here when they need a safe place to stay." Lincoln explains
"Why do we feel like the new kids in school right now? Everyone is staring at us." Skye says to Lincoln confused as almost everyone is glancing looks at us.
"Gordon didn't explain?" Lincoln asks us confused as we all stop walking.
"No, I thought you said that everyone here is like us and that this happens all the time." I say to him confused.
"Are you kidding? T-this has never happened. Things here have always been done a certain way. These people are descendants, yes, but most of them are waiting to be chosen. They carry the genetic marker and have been brought here to be evaluated, cultured, and prepared for the change should they be selected, but that only happens to one person every few years." Lincoln explains to us.
"They actually want to go through?" Skye asks Lincoln incredulously.
"This tradition has been passed down through countless generations." Lincoln states.
"And we jumped the line." I state.
"And not only did you go through without permission or prep, but you did it old-school, with a diviner in a Kree temple. Uh, that hasn't happened for thousands of years. You can see why some of these people might be a little envious." Lincoln explains to us.
"I'd gladly change places with any of them. We didn't want this." Skye tells him.
"I understand." Lincoln nods sincerely.
"Uh, the woman who changed with us, Raina... Gordon took her and our father. Are they here?" I ask him warily.
"Gordon takes people everywhere. It's his job to keep us safe. I promise, there is no one here who will harm either you. You're protected." Lincoln assures us.
After Lincoln gave us a tour of The Afterlife, he takes us to a bungalow before opening a sliding door to reveal a bedroom.
"Well, this is yours, Skye for as long as you want. Lyra, I'll show you your room next, it's a few doors up. Gordon brought your bags from the cabin, so, you know, take some time, try to relax." Lincoln says to us.
"Relax? This will be like my fourth bed in the past week, and I've been locked up, quarantined, psychoanalyzed." Skye lists.
"Let me guess. To protect you from yourself." Lincoln says to her, but Skye doesn't make eye contact with him.
"Hey..." I trail off as I walk over to Skye and I place my hands on her shoulders "... You need anything, I'm just down the hall." I assure her before I kiss her forehead "I love you." I say to her.
"Love you, too." Skye smiles at me, and I smile back before I drop my hands from her shoulders, and I turn to look at Lincoln.
"How many doors up did you say my room was?" I ask Lincoln as I begin to walk out of the room.
"Follow me." Lincoln smiles at me as he follows me out, and I show Skye a last smile before I slide the door closed after us.
Lincoln then leads me up from rooms before sliding open the door, showing an identical room to Skye's.
"You know, I actually always wanted a sibling." Lincoln admits to me as we walk into my room.
"Well, a younger sibling is a lot of hard work, I can tell you that." I say to him as I sit on the foot of the bed "Do you have... Abilities?" I ask him.
"I have a trick or two up my sleeve." Lincoln says to me before he lifts his left hand, palm and finger tips up towards the ceiling before creating electricity on his finger tips.
"Electricity?" I ask him as I stand up and walk over to him.
"I'd show you more, but then I'd probably nearly burn the building down like almost did the first time I got here." Lincoln explains to me and I slowly place my right hand over his left hand before closing my eyes.
I then let my energy flow from my core before letting it pass through my hand, and I open my eyes to see the electricity dancing off of the small barrier I'm creating, and the tapping of it makes a light rhythm.
"Why do I feel like I'm getting on your trusting side?" Lincoln asks me, and I look up at him to see him smiling down at me, and I smile back before I place my right hand back down my side.
"Your getting mixed signals there, Sparky. You help my sister control her ability, and I'll think about it." I smile at him as I walk over to the door before glancing outside for him to leave.
"Get some rest." Lincoln smiles at me before he leaves.
"You, too." I smile back at him before I slide the door closed after him.
I then look over to the bed to see that my carrier of clothes is on it, so I walk over to the bed before I open it to reveal my luggage, and on top is Only Forever by Bing Crosby Vinyl, and I smile a little at the thought. I then hear the door slide open behind me.
"Guess what Gordon picked up." I smile as I pick up the Vinyl as I hear the door slide closed, and I turn around to see someone who I thought I'd never see again. Whom I was told was dead, and now has scars across her face. My mother.
"Your father tells me you remember me?" My mother smiles at me, and I drop the Vinyl to the floor as I stare at her in shock "Is that a yes?" She asks me still smiling, and tears begin to fill my eyes.
I then quickly and swiftly take my gun out of my holster, and without hesitation as I shoot, but a split second before I do so, I suddenly embraced and teleported into a dark room with one light bulb on the ceiling, and my gun disappears as I look around the room to see there is two wooden doors.
"I cant have a threat here..." I hear my mothers voice, and I turn around to see her on the other side of the room in front of the doors "... Even if it's my dear, Katäryna. This is a haven for those like us whom have no where else to go. And don't worry, Daisy is in safe hands." She explains to me.
I then charge at her as I let my energy flow from my core and to my fists before I go to hit her in the face, but at the last second, Gordon teleports here, and then teleports somewhere else with my mother, I end up hitting the doors with my right fist, and my ability doesn't do any thing.
I then turn around to see that my mother nor Gordon is here, so I turn back to the door and let my energy flow from my core and to my fists before I use everything I have to try and make the door break down, and as my fists get bloodier and blood oozes from my nose, it's no use as I begin to cry. I then turn my back to the door before sliding down it and I sit on the floor as I sob.
"Aahhh!!!" I scream at the top of my lungs.

Ebony Chitin - Adventures of The Hive
Ebony Chitin - Adventures of The Hive is a story centered around a Hive mind bug elf, and her favorite human-dwarf mutt Richard. The story will shift perspectives between the two, as well as other members of the Hive. Follow along on their adventures for; the friends they make, the enemies they slay, and the questions they seek to answer. Thank you for reading, as always. ^.^ Afterword: Hello there everyone, and welcome back those that have already read the first story. If you are new, don't worry too much about the first step of the series. Truly, this second part aims to cover most of what was done there. Those that have read it will know a few secrets and plot points before we see them. Though it shouldn't detract from your reading of this one. Honestly, the first one was a bit rough, but do as you will. I will warn that this will tackle some serious topics and might end up getting rather explicit in terms of what is done or seen by the characters. There is a bit to cover, so I'll explain what I can between chapters without overloading anyone, hopefully. -Cover Art drawn by Cozie [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

LIlith's Firstborn
The legend says that the Forbidden Fruit made the first two humans – Adam and Eve – intelligent, but what if it was the other way around? What if the Forbidden Fruit took most of their humility, their intelligence, their kindness, etc. away and turn them into the discriminating, angry, and hateful humans that they are? What if the only way to turn back into their former selves was to lead a good life on Earth to cleanse their souls? The legend also says that Lilith was a demoness who fled from Heaven and was granted mercy when she showed humility and proved that her soul was still worthy of saving despite all her wrongdoings. What if, after centuries of sinning, Lilith finally found her way back to kindness? What if God forgave Lilith for her crimes? What if she gave birth to a baby after she had repented? And what if that baby is the only human soul in existence that isn’t tainted by the Forbidden Fruit or her past sins? Tallitanya of Lilith inherited her mother’s immortality and grew up at a rate much slower than an average human so she had witnessed the rise and fall of empires even though she is physically and mentally 21 years old. She was born on Earth, but she moved to Heaven when she was physically 5 years old and didn’t return until she was 18 years old. She was tasked, by God himself, to guard over the Forbidden Tree which had since been replanted on an isolated island on Earth. She loves that job, and she loves that she was given direct instructions instead of having to figure out what God’s so-called ‘mysterious plans’ for her was. Centuries went by. Tallitanya is 21 years old when the Final Judgement is nigh. As an immortal who has yet to have a real affiliation with Heaven or Hell, Tallitanya has received a personal invitation from the Antichrist who wishes to recruit Tallitanya. Heaven also sends its angel – Michael – to inform Tallitanya that as a human, her soul would also be judged by God. She was ordered to leave her post as the Forbidden Tree’s guardian so that she could get to know the other humans before she makes an actual decision about who she wants to align herself with. The second she steps out of the island, it disappears. Turns out, her message from God was faked, and so was her mission. The devil had tricked her, and as the guardian of the Forbidden Tree, she must recover the tree and the island, or humanity will perish within the year.
