《MAOS ; No More Secrets》One Door Closes

As I cook mine and Skye's breakfast, Omelette with a side of roasted tomatoes and avocado, Skye sits at the kitchen counter with her laptop as she Skype's Simmons.
"It's a little weird here. I'm settling in. I've played a couple dozen games of solitaire. It's a lonely game, that solitaire." Skye admits to Simmons.
"Well, May will head there soon, so don't give up on solitaire just yet." Simmons assures her.
"And who do we have to thank for the little Debbie snack cakes?" Skye asks her.
"That was Coulson's idea. But I did pick you both out some nice gluten-free biscuits." Simmons explains.
"Ah. Yeah, I'll... I'll... I... I'll look for those." Skye says to her, but I know she won't bother.
"Have you tried on the gloves yet?" Simmons asks her as I fold Skye's Omelette in the frying pan.
"I have not, but I... I will." Skye assures her.
"Well, when you're feeling up to it, it might be worth giving them a go. They're obviously just a prototype, but they're laced with a microthread I designed, which should accelerate your healing and dampen the vibrations. I just want you to be safe, Skye. You know that, right?" Simmons asks her.
"I do. It means a lot, Jemma. Thank you." Skye thanks her.
"Okay, then. Call me if you both need anything." Simmons says to her as I place Skye's Omelette on her plate with her roasted tomatoes and avocado.
"We will. Bye." Skye assures her before she closes her laptop, and I place her breakfast on top of it.
"Thank god, I thought you were going to take all morning." Skye complains as she picks up the knife and fork beside her laptop and digs into her Omelette.
"It's been five minutes." I say to her with a light chuckle as I walk back over to the stove to make my own Omelette.
"Yeah, and it's worth it. You make the best Omelettes in the world." Skye talk with her mouthful as she doesn't look up from me and only looks at her food.
"And your never getting the recipe." I state.
"We'll see about that." Skye says with her mouth full.
After night falls, Skye is tending to the lit fire place as I look through some of Rogers Vinyl's to see if they're any decent. I then watch Skye out of the corner of my right eye walk over to the open briefcase with the gloves from Simmons inside as I put a Vinyl onto the Vinyl Player.
"You sure you want to do that?" I ask her as I place the needle on the Vinyl, and Only Forever by Bing Crosby begins to play.
"It will get my mind off this grampa music." Skye tells me before she squints in pain as she rolls up her sleeves showing the bruises on her arms. Skye then slowly pulls them on her arms before they both begin to glow white momentarily.
"Whoa." Skye says as she grabs onto the near kitchen chair.
"Everything alright?" I rush over to her and place my right hand on her left shoulder.
"Uh, yeah. I just gotta ask Simmons something. Try her cell?" Skye asks me, and I take out my cellphone and call Simmons before putting it on speaker, but it goes straight to voicemail. Skye then walks over to the desk with a computer on, and she tries turning it on, but it doesn't work.
"Hello. This is Jemma Simmons. Please leave a message." Simmons voicemail comes through before it leaves a beep.

"Hey, Jemma. It's me. Um, can you call me back? I... I put the gloves on, but, uh, are they supposed to make you feel woozy? Um, maybe that's just a side effect. Also, are they supposed to be this tight? I'm not complaining. I'm just wondering. Anyway, call me back when you can. Okay, bye." Skye says as she climbs under the table and looks at the wall where the wire is connected, and I hang up the phone before following her under the desk confused, and there's a small gap between the wood slants in the wall, and she taps on it and its metal. We both then climb out from underneath the table, and I walk over to the fire place and pick up one of the metal fire pokers.
"Stand back." I tell her as I walk back over, and she does so before I wedge the poker in-between two wooden slants on the wall above the desk, and I pick one of the wooden slants off to reveal what looks like part of the cell wall like on The B.U.S. "What the hell?" I look to Skye, confused, and she looks back at me with the same confusion. I them put the poker down onto the desk before I pull off another slant of wood, and underneath it is the same cell wall, but it's got a large fist mark dented into it.
"Whoa." Skye says before she puts her fist where the very much larger fist it.
We then suddenly hear a swooshing sound from outside, so we both quietly make our way over to the security system next to the front door, and I tap on it and shows that no one has crossed the security lasers. Skye then rushes over to the near window before closing the curtains.
"Uh, Fitz, why did you make me watch 'Paranormal Activity'?" Skye moans, and we suddenly hear another swooshing sound, so I take my gun out from my holster and aim it at the cabin door and Skye rushes to stand behind me. I then take a few steps towards the door, and I place my left hand on the doorknob as I hold my gun in my right hand "What are you, crazy?!" She whisper/shouts at me before I swing open the door open, and there's nothing there, making me sigh in relief before I close the door and drop my gun.
"Just the wind." I sigh as I turn to her, but there's a sudden knock on the door.
"The wind?!" Skye whisper/ shouts in panic.
I then slowly turning around, and I swing the front door open with my gun at the ready and we see a man with no eyes nor eyebrows, just Skin.
"Hello, Lyra and Skye. I'm Gordon. May I come in?" The man asks us "So, What is the plan with that?" He asks me as enters the cabin and moves his head as if he's looking at my gun, and I step away from him slightly as I stand in front of Skye with my gun still aimed at him.
"You... You can see?" I ask him confused as he moves over towards the lounge and looks at us, and Skye closes the front door.
"Hmm. Not the way you do, but I can see that you are afraid." Gordon says as he looks to Skye before looking at me "But you are afraid in a different way, for your sister. You don't need to be. Not with me." He explains to us.

"Who are you?" I ask him warily.
"I'm like you. And I've come here as a friend. Can't imagine how it must have felt to go through your transformations without any understanding of what to expect. I had years to prepare. And still. I was horrified by what I became. Granted, I was younger. May I sit?" Gordon refers to the couch before he sits on it, and myself and Skye make our way over to the fireplace opposite him.
"This couch is very uncomfortable, and this music is very old." Gordon comments.
"The Vinyl's are left behind from my friend." I state.
"I presume an old friend." Gordon says to me.
"More than you think." I tell him.
"... I wish you wouldn't stare." Gordon says to us.
"Uh..." Skye trails off, not knowing what to say as I lower my gun slightly.
"Th-that was a joke. I'm not very good at them. I don't mind that you're curious, honestly. And, yes, I used to have eyes. They were blue. This... This was the obvious change for me, but what happens inside can be just as profound. You see, the mist changes everyone differently. The real difference between the three of us is what happened after we went through the mist." Gordon explains to us.
"What do you mean?" I ask him confused.
"I knew from an early age how special I was... Had a mentor, a guide of sorts. And the first thing she did after I transformed was embrace me. Tell me, Lyra and Skye, what was the first thing that S.H.I.E.L.D. did to you?" Gordon asks us, and I glance at Skye to see her looking at her gloved arms.
"They quarantined us. They were looking out for us the only way they thought they knew how." I explain to him.
"That is... Unfortunate." Gordon sighs "What does it feel like, your gift? Lyra?" He asks me.
"... Like cold electricity running through my veins, directly from my heart. But when I push myself to my limit, it, um..." I trail off as I glance at Skye before looking back at Gordon "... It feels like my heart could explode, but at the same time I can feel myself getting stronger." I admit to him, and he nods slightly before looking at Skye.
"Skye?" Gordon asks her.
"I don't know. Um... It's intense. Like 1,000 bees are trapped inside of me. And I feel it all the time. It's always there. And I can't stop it." Skye explains.
"Why would you want to stop it?" Gordon asks her confused.
"Because I destroy everything around me." Skye states.
"That is simply not true. Every object in this universe gives off a vibration. Did you know that? Nothing rests... Animals, trees, people, even this ratty couch." Gordon explains as he stands up and walks around the couch before patting on the back of it "And you... You have the ability to tap into those vibrations. Don't you see? You could become magnificent." He explains, and I smile at his words of Skye "But something's inhibiting you, constraining your energy." He adds, and Skye looks down at her gloved arms.
"Uh, no. No, no. Our, um... Our friend's a scientist. She made these to protect me." Skye explains to him.
"Or do they protect people from you? Your friend may even find a way to inhibit your powers, Lyra." Gordon explains to us.
"No, it's not like that. My powers, I... I can't control them. And when I try to, it hurts me." Skye explains to him.
"Most gifts come with a price, but you could learn to manage it. I apologize. I'm saying too much. This is probably not the best place to continue our conversation. Neither of you don't have the tools or the understanding that you need just yet." Gordon explains to us.
"To do what?" I ask him confused.
"To be who you were always meant to be without fear, without pain. We can offer that to the both of you." Gordon explains.
"How?" Skye asks him confused.
"I'll take you both to a place where you can be with people like us." Gordon explains to us.
"Us? How many are there?" I ask him confused.
"You can learn about yourselves, your gifts. You can be safe. But only if you want to come." Gordon explains to us, and I look to Skye to see her looking back at with the same nervousness and hesitation "When you're ready, I'll find you." He begins to leave.
"How will you find-" I try to say, but he cuts me off.
"-Trust me. I'll know." Gordon tells us before he disappears, like teleportation.
A while after Gordon left, we both have barely discussed about what happened, and right now I am sitting on the couch reading The Sun Also Rises by Hemmingway as Skye sits on the kitchen table. I then watch out of the corner of my left eye to see her taking the gloves off, and she squints at the pain. Skye then places the gloves down onto the kitchen table, before standing up and walking over to the sink where she begins to wash her hands.
"Lyra?" Skye asks me warily, and I immediately put my book down on the coffee table before rushing over to her, and I look at her face to see that she is smiling before I look down at the water, and the water is spiraling She's doing this.
"Like Gordon said, there are vibrations in everything." I smile at her, and she smiles back before she pulls me into a gentle hug so she doesn't hurt her arms.
Just then, my cellphone begins to ring, so we pull away from our hug, and as I take my cellphone out of my right back jean pocket with my right hand and answer it, Skye turns the facets off before drying her hands.
"Hello?" I ask as I put the cellphone on loud speaker.
"Lyra, Skye." May says to us.
"May, what's happening? We couldn't connect to you guys." I explain to her.
"You both need to get out of there... Now." May tells us.
"What? Why? What are you talking about?" I ask her confused.
"There's a panel on the southwest corner of the compound. It'll let you bring down the laser-grid fence." May explains to us.
"May, stop-" I try to say to her, but she cuts me off.
"-You can do this, Lyra and Skye. I believe in you both. But you need to run... Now. They're coming for you." May explains, and I look up at a confused Skye worried.
"Who... Who's coming for us? Who-" I try to say, but she cuts me off.
"-S.H.I.E.L.D." May states, and all of the power in the cabin turns off. Have we been compromised... Again?
"May? May?" I ask her, but she doesn't answer.
"What do we do?" Skye asks me confused and panicked.
"No matter what, you don't leave my side." I tell her before I throw my phone on the couch and take my gun out of my right holster "Come on." I tell her before I open the front door, and she follows me as we run, and we look up at the sky to see two Quinjet's with searching lights.
"Oh, my God." Skye sighs.
"Come on." I grab her left hand in my right hand before I pull her along as we run into and through the woods Southwest.
After running for barely a few minutes, I stop running when I see the control panel for the laser grid. I then release Skye's hand as we walk over to it, and I begin to open when I hear twig snap behind us. I then quickly turn around to see a man in black with a gun pointed at us, So I right kick him in the chest whilst letting energy flow from my core through to my right foot, and the gun goes off as he flies through the air before he lands against a tree, knocking him out.
"No! Lyra! Skye!" We hear someone says, and I we look to our right to see Morse and a man, and the man goes to shoot at us.
I then raise my left hand up to them to create a barrier with energy released from my core as Skye holds up both of her hands, and we both suddenly release a massive surge of energy between us as I drop my gun, and both Morse and the man flies back about thirty feet as behind them the trees all falls down ranging about a hundred feet. I then feel my nose begin to bleed as I feel faint, and I look to Skye to see her looking around in horror, and I take her left hand in my right hand.
"Gordon..." I barely whisper, and Gordon suddenly appears using teleportation about five feet away from us.
"Would you like to go home?" Gordon smiles at us, and we both lightly nod at him before he embraces us, and the last thing I see before I pass out is a blue light.

Prince of Destiny
Karl is the last prince of a royal house that has been overthrown by brutal revolutionaries. Orphaned by the revolutionaries, he was rescued and has been raised in secret by Leevana, a green skinned night-hag, for the past ten years. When Karl turns sixteen and is old enough to embrace his destiny, he and Leevana must set out on a quest to find his royal grandmother. But the depraved new leader of the revolutionaries, Joe Steel, is on their trail... Somewhat inspired by the basic concept of Don Bluth's fairy tale animated feature, purporting to be based on the myths surrounding Anastasia Romanov. I don't think this counts as a fanfiction, because it does not use anyone else's characters and it is in its own self-contained world, but please keep in mind the inspiration. Leevana and Karl are completely original characters, but Joe Steel, the bigger bad, is inspired by Stalin. Maybe let me know if you think it should have a fanfiction tag or not.
