《MAOS ; No More Secrets》The Things We Bury

As May, Hunter, Mac and Morse work on finding Ward at The Playground Coulson, myself, Fitz, Skye and Triplett are on our way to Oahu, Hawaii as we are on the mission to use the most powerful satellites in the world so we can find the city that matches The Obelisk symbols. And right now, I walk into The Briefing Room when Coulson has just finished Skype calling May and on the wall computer whom Morse interviewing Bakshi.
"Didn't want to crack him yourself?" I ask him.
"Besides you, Bobbi's as good as they come. My job now is to keep an eye on the big picture." Coulson explains to me.
"And you found something to chase." I say to him.
"Fury. I've been thinking a lot about what made him such a good director. His communication skills..." Coulson trails off as he tries to find the right words.
"Flawed?" I ask from experience.
"Yes, but he could always see five steps ahead, which, for a one-eyed man, is impressive." Coulson explains.
"He knew his enemies." I add.
"And for better or worse, he could think like them. Whitehall has a weapon that's unpredictable, but he's not. I don't want to be in a footrace to stop him. I want to be waiting at the finish line." Coulson tells me.
"Which is the city." I sate.
"That's where I believe the Obelisk will lead H.Y.D.R.A." Coulson tells me as he pulls up the map of The Obelisk symbols on the wall computer by taking on the computer table with his right index finger.
After landing in Oahu, I stand on the open landing bay with Fitz, Skye and Triplett, and I put a new clip into a Night-night gun before handing it to Fitz with my right hand, and he takes it with his right hand.
"The safety's already on. Just encase you need it." I assure him as Coulson walks onto the landing bay from the upper level with a brief case in his right hand.
"What are we gonna do, storm Oahu?" Coulson asks us.
"We don't know yet." I tell him as he hasn't given us our direct orders of what to do.
"Ditch the guns." Coulson tells us as he places the brief case onto a table, and he hands me a watch "Take this." He gives me the watch with his right hand, and I take it with my right hand.
"Why do I need a watch?" I ask him confused.
"You and Skye deliver it to Cam, the owner of the Kahananui Repair Shop. Here." Coulson explains as he hands a small piece of paper with writing on it to Skye "It'll need the following inscription 'Dearest Darren, I count the seconds we're apart. Love, your island flower.' You got that?" He asks us.
"'Island flower'... Got it. Anything else?" I ask him.

"If it starts to leak any fluids, drop it, run." Coulson tells me.
"This does not sound like a watch." I tell him.
"Take this to the Ka Pua dry-cleaner on Makaimoimo street." Coulson hands Triplett a coin with his right hand, and Triplett takes it with his left hand.
"Maka-what, now?" Triplett asks him confused.
"Not the one on Hookelewaa." Coulson tells him.
"Am I good with this in my pocket?" Triplett asks him as he puts the coin in his left trouser pocket.
"That depends. You ever want kids?" Coulson asks Triplett, and Triplett takes the coin back out of his pocket "And bring back the blue tie." He adds.
"You got it, sir." Triplett assures him.
"Get back here A.S.A.P. This B.U.S. has to be wheels-up in 40 minutes." Coulson tells us.
"Yes, sir." I say as Skye says "Copy that." As Triplett says "You got it.", and we all walk off the landing bay and onto the island.
After dropping the watch off at Kahananui Repair Shop, myself and Skye arrive back The B.U.S. the same time as Triplett, and we all walk up to the bridge to see Fitz working on some kind of transceiver with a timer beside him, and he looks stressed as hell.
"Hey. Whatever you're doing, just take a break." I tell him, and he turns to us before standing up.
"What are you doing?" Skye asks him confused.
"Coulson has me patching a transceiver into a system that's not even meant to handle one." Fitz explains.
"You can do that in your sleep." Triplett states.
"In my sleep, yes, I'm quite good at it. Problem is, I'm awake. I think Coulson's testing me." Fitz explains as he shakes his left hand momentarily, his left hand being his steadiest.
"Coulson doesn't roll that way. If he has you in the dark, it's for a reason." I assure him.
"Mm. Or just keeping me busy." Fitz suggests.
"I just gave a button to a 300-pound Hawaiian dude. Look, we've been through some crazy, you two especially, but the whole time, Coulson's been our anchor. He may seem lost sometimes, but he's always got a plan." Triplett assures Fitz before Coulson walks down the staircase leading from his office "O' captain, my captain. One blue neck-tie." He hands Coulson a white rectangular box as he walks over, and Fitz sits back down next to the transceiver.
"Any complications out there?" Coulson asks us.
"No, sir." I assure him.
"Kept waiting for that other shoe." Skye comments.
"Great. Everything's in motion, then... Except The B.U.S.. Get us airborne." Coulson looks to Triplett.
"Where to, sir?" Triplett asks him.
"Australian outback. We got a satellite network to steal and very little time." Coulson tells him.

"Copy that." Triplett states before he leaves to fly The B.U.S., and Coulson opens the rectangular box from Triplett to reveal a blue neck-tie.
"What's the story with the tie?" I ask him confused.
"It was a gift from Audrey, and I spilled Poi all over it." Coulson tells me before looking to Fitz "Under six minutes, you can do it." He taps on the table Fitz is working at before he leaves.
After arriving at Laura Creek, Australia, right now Coulson, myself, Fitz, Skye and Triplett are now suiting up in the landing bay as Coulson gives us our orders.
"The satellite network we need to map the Earth and find the city is controlled by the U.S. Air Force facility at Kaena point, Oahu. And it's too heavily guarded to infiltrate. Which is why we came to Australia instead. There's a small station here that comes online whenever Kaena point's feed goes down." Coulson explains.
"But Kaena still needs to go down." Skye states.
"You already took care of that. The watch and the button are two pieces of a trojan horse. They'll take down the base's feed." Coulson explains.
"Man with the plan." Triplett states.
"Once per quarter, General Cole inspects Kaena point. This time, he'll meet the new relay commander." Coulson explains.
"Let me guess, commander's name is Darren." I suggest.
"That's right. And since he's new, introductions will be made. On their own, these two pieces are harmless, undetectable to security. But as they near each other, they'll power up an E.M.P., and boom... Kiss your wi-fi, your coffee maker, and your top-secret satellite feed goodbye." Coulson explains.
"And the Australian site goes online." I state.
"We'll have roughly six minutes to patch a back end into the network. Triplett, you'll provide backup. Fitz, you'll install the transceiver to let Skye and Lyra hack the network so that we can find out if this city exists once and for all." Coulson gives us our orders.
"All because a general got too fat for his jacket." Triplett smiles.
"Fitz, how you coming with the transceiver patch?" Coulson asks him.
"I've got it down to 7 minutes, 20 seconds." Fitz states.
"That's not good enough." Coulson walks up to him.
"No, that's with my bad hand. With both, I can do it, definitely." Fitz assures him, and I smile at Fitz as he walks away and Triplett follows.
"We may actually have a shot at finding the city." Coulson says to myself and Skye.
"You sure it's something you want to dig up?" Skye asks him.
"If we don't, H.Y.D.R.A. will. We need to get there first." Coulson tells us.
After Coulson, Fitz and Triplett head out to plant the transceiver, I stand with Skye in the briefing room and two other hackers as they and Skye are ready to hack into the satellites.
"This doesn't feel right. Lyra, you reading us?" Coulson asks me over the coms speaker in the briefing room.
"Yes, sir." I assure him.
"Standing by with geek squad. Paddington and Timelord are closing in. E.M.P. ready in 40 seconds." Skye explains to them.
"Copy that." Coulson tells, us and a few moments later we receive info on that Kaena is offline.
"Kaena point is down. Six minutes on the clock." I tell Coulson, but all we receive is static "Coulson?" I ask him, but there's no response "Skye?" I look to her confused.
"There's something jamming us." Skye tells me.
"Then un-jam it. Get coms back online. You guys are my satellite wranglers. I need vector scripts ready to execute the second Fitz get us on that network." I tell them all, and they all begin to type away on their laptops.
"We haven't heard from them in over five minutes." Skye says to me as she continues to type on her laptop.
"Just give Fitz-" I cut myself off as on the wall computer the transceiver begins to power up.
"The transceiver." Skye smiles, and I smile, too.
"Skye, find that city." I tell her.
"On it." Skye tells me before she turns to the other two hackers "Okay. Prioritize all thermal and ground-penetrating imaging." She tells them before they all continue to work on their laptops.
After Coulson, Fitz and Trip came back and explained that H.Y.D.R.A. must have gotten a tip off of sorts as they were already there and shot Triplett, Triplett is currently being patched up by one of the hackers who is also a trained doctor and Coulson and Fitz walk into the briefing room as myself and Skye begin to explain to them what is happening with the satellite.
"It's been running for a few hours. 26 satellites scouring the world for your map." I assure Coulson.
"Good." Coulson states.
"Multispectral images, ground-penetrating radar. Now we wait for the ding that says we have a match. If there's evidence of this city on Earth, the computer will find it." I assure them before I turn to look at them to see them both not looking as happy as I thought they would about the news.
"Guys? Is everything okay? They're patching Trip up and he's going to be fine, but you're acting like you saw the devil out there." Skye explains to them confused, and they both give us a look that tells us that they might have.
"What?" I ask them confused, and Coulson is about to speak when a match of the city comes on the computer. We did it.

Where did I wake up?
A pretty standard story about a man that gets transferred to a new world, and gains a system to help him survive. This is pretty close to the first draft of this story, so there will be grammar mistakes until I get down to fixing them. Synopsis, genre and tags will also change as I get more writing done. I will try to release two to three short chapters a week. I don't own the cover image; it is just something I found online.

Errant
Amateur fighter Kestril only remembers two things about her mother's disappearance: a locket and the promise she made to keep her brother safe. That promise is all she thinks of when she jumps in front of a car to save her brother. She expects death, but instead wakes up to a looming clock tower, cobblestone streets, and dead soldiers wearing lockets just like her mother's. Kess's locket marks her as one of the Errant- people with control over dimensions and time, and the same people rumored to have captured her brother across the city. When a military group mistakes Kess for their enemy, she swears allegiance at gunpoint, hoping to search for her brother from within. Inside, Kess finds an even darker side of the city bent on killing the Errant-using any means necessary. When the murder of an important Errant soldier throws the city further into civil war, Kess uncovers a plot that could undo everything she's fought for so far. The only problem? Her brother is at the head of it. Trapped between her promise to her mother and her morals, Kess finds little use for her theatrical brawling of the past. She can only hope to find her brother before it's too late. || Update: 4/24/2022 Have decided to rewrite this novel, but will continue to post chapters of this draft, possibly with commentary. Questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for supporting me! |||| Story is finished, just getting into a publishing schedule on Royal Road for the first time. ||
