"Ahsoka" Rex breathed, suddenly aware of the damage he had done, "I'm-"
Ahsoka stepped back from him and Rex's heart sank. A monster. That's what she thought he was. A killing, heartless, savage, monster. Her eyes brimmed with tears and she was shaking slightly. She looked terrified, but damn was she gorgeous. Rex reached out for her hand but she recoiled in fear. He looked away, biting his lip as hard as he could. He couldn't stand himself after what he did. He was so caught up in his anger and loathe for Lux, that he didn't stop to think about what he was doing.
"I'm sorry" he choked out, before dashing out the medical tent.
He left behind a bloodied, sickly looking Lux along with the shaking togruta he loved. He didn't know what to do. So he ran. He ran as fast as he could. Taking all his anger out on the strides of his steps. He pushed every muscle in his body faster. The look of horror on Ahsoka's face came back, haunting his mind like the memories of his fallen brothers.
Tears flowed freely and Rex choked back a sob. He found himself running to one of the many tents in the camp. It was one on the edge of a cliff, away from the others, an outcast. At this very moment Rex felt like an outcast. Or he felt he should become one. With no one to trust, not even his brothers, Rex felt alone. With the exception of Ahsoka of course. But right now he didn't want to be anywhere near her. He didn't want to hurt her.
Back at the tent Ahsoka was contemplating how she reacted to the situation. She felt terrible. Just the pain that radiating off of Rex made her stomach churn and twist into knots. She wished she would have comforted him or at least given him a hug. But no, she just stared at him and flinched away like a loth-cat's prey. At the time she was scared. Not of Rex, but of what he would do. She knew he would never hurt her but Ahsoka had never seen him like this before. It was so different. So...terrifying.
Lux was just groaning on the floor, clutching his head and muttering insults under his breath. Ahsoka completely forgot about the injured boy on the ground until medics came running in shouting orders to one another. Ahsoka herself was still recovering, but she felt a lot stronger. The adrenaline was pumping, thanks to the fight that broke out. She wiped her face on her sleeve and rubbed her shoulders, in an attempt to comfort herself. Still, she cried.

"Your boyfriend's a shavit brain" Lux growled, as doctors helped mend his broken bones.
Fury welled up inside of Ahsoka and she stomped over to the frail boy.
"You know this is all your fault" she hissed.
Lux looked taken aback, "Mine?"
"Yes yours! He's protective of me and he was only trying to keep me safe!" she pointed out.
Lux snorted, "His methods are... questionable"
"I think they're all right" Ahsoka muttered, just enough for Lux to hear.
With that she left a perplexed Lux, walking out of the tent in search of Rex. The sun was setting, casting an eerie glow across the camp. Usually the sunset was beautiful, but this evening it made Ahsoka shiver. She took one last look at the cryptic view before shifting her weight and setting off to find her love. She started by looking inside all of the tents near the medic tent. No such luck. The sun was getting lower and lower in the sky and she was about to take a break. That is until she saw the one tent on the cliff. She could sense his dismal from a mile away, it made her heart ache.
She dashed up the dusty trail until she came up to the entrance. It was only a tarp that occasionally blew around, but it worked. Ahsoka hesitated, she didn't want to make Rex feel worse in any way. She still felt terrible about earlier. But she had to see him, she would never forgive herself if she didn't. So she gently rustled the tarp, signaling that someone was entering.
"Rex?" she asked, her voice breaking.
His back was turned to her, and he was staring at a wall sniffling softly. His armor was off so that he was only in his blacks, after all it was pretty hot here. She hated seeing him like this, she loved when he showed his passionate side but this broke her heart.
"Rex please" she begged, tears filling her eyes as well.
Rex tensed then slowly turned around to face her. He looked miserable, his face was red, his eyes were puffy, tears stained his cheeks, and he gave her a look that made her choke out a sob. She began to walk towards him but he gave a sharp click of his tongue. Ahsoka stopped.

"Soka" he murmured, "I don't want to hurt you"
Ahsoka flinched at his words, realizing what she had done. This was her fault. She made him believe that she was afraid of him, that he could hurt her.
"Rex, you would never hurt me" she pointed out, "I know you wouldn't"
"Did you see me in there?" he asked, "I could have killed him. Or worse, hurt you"
"You wouldn't do that," Ahsoka said.
"I didn't think so either but in the tent..." he trailed off, followed by more blubbering.
Ahsoka tried to get closer to Rex once more but he shot up.
"Stay away from me!" he shouted.
Ahsoka shuttered, her eyes growing wide.
"I'm sorry" he apologized, "I'm just so kriffing scared"
"Scared of what?" Ahsoka questioned, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"Losing you" he wailed, "I've lost so many people I've loved Ahsoka. So many." "I don't think I can handle losing anyone else"
Before Rex knew it Ahsoka was running towards him. He sucked in a sharp breath and felt as she crashed into him, wrapping her small arms around his torso. He paused out of shock, staring dumbfounded at the togruta. She broked down, crying into his chest and he cried with her.
"Ahsoka please, I don't want-" he started.
"Shut up" she interrupted, "I don't care, I know you Rex! You aren't going to hurt me. You never have and you never will!"
"Ahsoka I love you and I just don't want to-" Rex weeped.
Ahsoka silenced him with a finger to his lips and squeezed him tighter.
"Ahsoka!" he cried.
"No!" she wailed, "Please no!"
"Please" he pleaded.
"I can't live without you" she sobbed, "If you weren't here then I wouldn't have a purpose in life!"
Rex smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. Finally he gave in and pulled Ahsoka into a tight hug as well.
"I love you" he choked out.
"I love you too," Ahsoka replied.
Ahsoka pulled away from Rex and put her forehead to his. She sat down and he sat down next to her as well. He rested his head on her shoulder and she put an arm around the clone. Rex's breathing was uneven and Ahsoka rubbed his shoulders repeating the words, "I'm here" She wiped away his tears and played with his hair, doing whatever she could to show him that she loved him. He eventually calmed down, calming Ahsoka down as well.
When they both had stopped crying Ahsoka lifted up Rex's chin with her finger, staring deep into his hazel eyes. His eyes were still puffy but he was still handsome, even when he was crying. She cuffed the side of his face with her hand, nudging his cheek with her thumb. Then she leaned in and passionately kissed him. She stopped but Rex pulled her right back, hungrily devouring her lips. His hands ventured over her hips and her hands were on his chest. Rex ran a delicate hand over her jawline, tracing every curve.
Ahsoka's arms dangled around Rex's neck and he pulled her onto his lap so that she straddled him. Rex's hands ran down Ahsoka's back, making her quiver. Rex perked up but Ahsoka just kissed him fiercely. Ahsoka's finger nudged Rex's lip, making him kiss her harder. They did this for awhile, just enjoying each others company. Soon both of them were tired and breathing heavily. Ahsoka pulled away and put her head down, her chin on Rex's shoulder. Rex still had his arms wrapped around her and she had never felt more safe in her life. All she wanted to do was stay like this forever and not have to worry about the problems of the real world.
"I got a ship" Rex whispered, breaking the silence.
"Awesome" Ahsoka grunted, "Now we can get off this forsaken planet"
"You know now that I think about it all of this was either Lux's or this planet's fault" Rex pointed out.
"How about we leave and never come back?" Ahsoka suggested.
"Deal" Rex agreed.
