《Home | The Originals》Chapter 35: Cemetary

(I know Kai is like a vampire witch hybrid as well, but this Phoenix we're talking about here. I'm not going to give those boring vampire eyes. So, I gave her sclera eyes. Let's all pretend veins are showing underneath)
Me and Nik walked into the cemetery already knowing she would be here in search for Davina. Nik has pulled out a white oak stake that can't be destroyed. "Rebekah!" Nik yelled out. We turn a corner. "Cherish the breath in your lungs! It'll be your last."
We turn another corner to see Elijah and Rebekah standing there talking. "Don't you dare move!" I yelled at the two of them and they faced us. "She's mine."
My eyes disappeared showing my black sclera eyes as my true hybrid face comes out as does Nik's. Rebekah and Elijah showed their vampire face as well getting ready for a fight.
~~~
"Walk away." Elijah told Rebekah as he stands in front of her.
"Don't move!" Nik yelled at her and our hybrid face disappeared.
"Leave us now." Elijah said.
"I can't. I'm stuck here." Rebekah said. Nik held the stake up to her. "Elijah, he has a white oak stake."
"I brought it for you, sister." Nik said as he stalks closer to them.
"Get out of their sight. Your presence here only serves to anger him. Leave them to me now." Elijah told her and she sped off. Elijah stood in a defensive position holding up Papa Tunde's blade. "I'm asking you, Niklaus, brother to brother, we end this nonsense now."
"You would side with that murderer?" I asked him as I pointed at the direction Rebekah left in.
"I am not choosing sides, but I will not allow you to hurt Rebekah." Elijah said.
"We are trapped in this cemetery, Elijah. How long do you think you can defend her when there's two of us?" I asked him.
Me and Nik sped away and I was yanked back and thrown away from the direction Rebekah had went. I quickly got up and stare at Elijah. "As long as it takes...by whatever means necessary.
~~~
We've been in this all night trying to get past Elijah. It took me five tries to see if I could get past him but every time I do he would grab me and throw me next to Nik.
"We've been at this for hours to what end? Niklaus I know you and I grew up fighting you. I can't be beaten nor can I be persuaded. You cannot get past me." Elijah said as him and Klaus stood in front of each other.
"I could get past you although it might have to be over your dead body. You did stab me with that blade, forcing me to endure hours of unspeakable pain. Perhaps I should direct my rage toward you." Nik said then held the stake towards Elijah.
"You should see yourself— the murderous expression, the self-righteous postering. You sound like father." Elijah said.
I stood up and looked at Elijah with glossy eyes. "He's not Mikael." I said. "Rebekah's actions justifies our anger. His was that of a madman. Look at what he did to an innocent three year old girl. A child!" I yelled the last part out.
"You were never the recipient of his cruelty. None of you were—not Kol, not Finn, none of you!" Nik yelled out leaving Elijah speechless. "I think you've forgotten what he was truly like.

"No. I have not forgotten." Elijah said.
A memory was shared between the two brother and it went through my head, too. I watch as a young Klaus was getting beaten by Mikael with Elijah standing there doing nothing, afraid of their father. We looked back at Elijah before speeding away to find Rebekah, but Elijah soon followed us.
"Niklaus, Phoenix, I understand your anger, but, I implore you, be better than him do what he could not. Demonstrate the grace of mercy rather than this petty cruelty." Elijah begged us.
"You ask me to show mercy to one who has wronged me. You really don't know me at all, do you, brother?" Nik said.
"I will do what Mikael has failed to do. I will kill Rebekah by any means necessary and if anyone gets in my way, they will die along side her." I said then shuffling was heard behind him.
"Enough." Rebekah said as she came up to us.
"Finally decided to come out of hiding?" I asked her.
"Whatever I have done wrong, my guilt is nothing compared to yours. You want revenge? Fine, but before you have it, I will look you in the eye and tell you why it was your cruelty and your spite that led us to this." Rebekah said as she stares Klaus down.
"Well, go on, then. Speak your piece, and when you are finished, I will grant you the punishment you deserve, even if I have to go through Elijah to do so." Nik said.
~(This court scene was hilarious to me)~
"Let it begin— the trial of Rebekah Mikaleson." Nik said as he sits on top of a tomb like every human judge do. I was sitting on another tomb pretending to be the jury in this case against Rebekah and I will "cheat" so she can hopefully die.
"What a relief. His ego is in check." Rebekah mocked.
"Just speak your truth. I'll make certain he behaves himself." Elijah said.
"You stand accused of betraying your own blood which caused for a young child to die in the process. How do you plead?" Nik said.
"I plead you to shut up and listen." Rebekah said.
"You summoned your father. Brought him to our home. What possible defense could you have?" I asked her.
"I knew he was the only thing that Klaus feared, and I wanted him to run." She told me.
"Because you hated me." Nik said.
"Because you were hateful. You denied me the freedom to love." Rebekah said.
"So that's your defense? You called Mikael— The Destroyer, a vampire that hunts vampires— because Nik detained you the freedom to love. Why would you even continue to try and find love when you knew in your head that you would have to leave the city soon? What was the point? Yes, you guys stayed here for 300 years, but doing the first few decades you must have thought you would be leaving soon so Mikael could never find you." I ranted as I pace back and forth on the tombs. "He even gave permission to your bloody relationship with Marcel because he believed that you guys finally had a home where you do not have to run away anymore."
"He was being cruel, and controlling and manipulative." Rebekah yelled back at me.
"I was trying to protect you from imbeciles and leeches, not to mention your own poor judgement." Nik yelled out.
"And what about the one that you loved enough to call friend? Why did you forbid me to live Marcel?" Rebekah asked Klaus.

"Do not mention his name." Nik said angrily as he stood up.
"What has happened to you? I remember the sweet boy who made me laugh and gave me gifts, who loved art and music. I wanted to be just like you. How could you have fallen so far?" She asked him and Nik didn't say anything.
"You say you despise Rebekah for her betrayal, and yet no one has stood by your side for so long, not even I myself. Perhaps it's you that's forgotten. I remember the day father caught you whittling little chess pieces with his hunting knife. He beat you so mercilessly and for so long, I actually feared for your life."
"So you would paint her as a loyal sister, but she betrayed me out of lust for Marcel. Perhaps that was why you did it— for love. Perhaps I might temper my rage if Rebekah will admit she was a victim of her own idiocy, that her great love Marcel used her to oust this family and take my city!" Klaus yelled.
"Marcel did not manipulate me." Rebekah said.
"You defend him, and yet you can't help but wonder, what if I'm right?" Nik asked.
"It was Marcel who told you that he was the reason Papa Tunde came into New Orleans, am I right?" I said and she looks at me shocked. "Your wondering how I knew that piece of information. Well it was quite easy to get inside your head. And you call yourself a Original. You're a failure as a vampire, Rebekah. If you want I can end you right here and now, just give me the word." I went to drop down from the tomb but Elijah stood up in front of Rebekah and lift Papa Tunde's blade up, making back off.
"We loved each other. It was Klaus refusal to respect that that led to his ruin." Rebekah defended.
"Then why didn't he chase after you when you fled Nee Orleans? Oh, yes. That's right. He was here stealing what I built." Nik said.
"You want me to renounce Marcel, to beg for your forgiveness? I won't. Marcel is not at fault. I called Mikael." Rebekah said.
"Rebekah, you must—" Elijah started to say but Rebekah continues, cutting him off.
"I was the one who brought him to New Orleans because of your wickedness. I wanted love and happiness, and you denied me the freedom to have either. Yes. I hated and I was afraid of our father, but he was a lesser evil than you, my bastard brother who loomed over me, threatening me as you are now. I wanted rid of you, and given the choice, I'd do it again." Rebekah said.
Me and Klaus sped off the tombs and towards Rebekah. Nik pushes her against a tombstone and was about to plunge the white oak stake into her heart but Elijah rushed over and tackled him off her.
I sped over to Rebekah while Elijah was distracted and bit into neck giving her my special hybrid venom. Rebekah screamed out I pain alerting Elijah and he quickly came up to us and threw me off her. I landed beside Nik and we quickly got back onto our feet.
I watch as Elijah holds up Papa Tunde's blade and the white oak stake. "Sister, leave us." Elijah demanded her.
"I won't go." Rebekah said as she checks on her wound and to see that it has completely healed. Well, that what's she thinks. She will start to hallucinate every person that she has screwed over on the past and it will never stop until she kills herself.
"I said, leave us, please." Elijah repeated and Rebekah finally leaves. "You wouldn't listen to her. So now you must deal with me."
~~~
Klaus managed to get Papa Tunde's blade in Elijah and I turned around hearing something behind me. I turned to see Rebekah coming from behind a tombstone holding the white oak stake. "That was supposed to be my line." She said then held the stake in the air. "Now I have this. So I decide who lives and who dies. I'm taking out that blade." She said.
"You'll have to kill one of us to do so. Why not finished what you have stated. Killed my daughter a century ago, why not kill the mother as well? At least you will be free of the guilt of causing a three year old to die." I said.
"I didn't mean for your daughter to die. I just wanted Klaus to be on the run." Rebekah said.
"Liar!" I yelled at her and she flinch at voice being raised.
"You wanted revenge." Nik said as he pointed a finger at her.
"You drove me to betray you, and now you want to twist it and make it worse so you can justify killing me instead of accepting your own fault. All I did was love your friend. You could've been happy for us, but instead in your paranoia, you feared losing us both, and, because of that, you did. There is no one else to blame, Nik, only you." Rebekah said.
"Where is Marcel now, hmm?" Nik asked her. "I thought he loved you, and yet he left you trapped in here with us."
~~~
"You against us. It's hardly a fair fight, is it? I mean, perhaps, if Marcel were here, you'd stand a chance, but I expect he's already found another girl, no doubt younger and prettier." Nik taunted.
"You take joy in other people's pain, and then you wonder why I hate you." Rebekah said as she moves around us pointing the stake at us.
"Yes, and that led you to do what you did." I said as me and Nik got closer to her as she keeps backing away from us.
"Admit the truth. Admit you wanted me dead." Nik said.
"I wanted you to run— that is all— despite your delusions." Rebekah said.
I gesture to Elijah. "Elijah lies suffering, and I will allow you to help him. All you have to do is admit it." I begged of her.
"You're insane." She commented.
I pointed my finger at her. "Yes! Yes! We are vicious, heartless monster, and so you summoned Mikael to kill my daughter. Admit it." I yelled at her.
"It's not true." Rebekah yelled back.
"You know what you did. Admit it." Nik said.
"I didn't." Rebekah denied.
"You wanted her dead!" "You wanted me dead!" Me and Nik yelled at her at the same time. "Admit it." We whispered.
Rebekah looks down as she rethinks her actions. "Maybe I did." She said softly. Nik looked at her shocked and a tear fell down my face. "Nik, Nix—" I sped to Rebekah and took the white oak out of her hand then I plunged it into her chest. She stares at me before she starts to fall to the ground slowly.
~~~
I left them there. I didn't want to be around anybody at the moment. Wasted all my time and energy trying to kill someone only to purposely miss her heart.
I sat in front of a tombstone and just stare at it.
Eric and Rose Young
My mouth was open as I let out a silent sob. I miss her so much that it makes me want to kill myself just to be with her. I laid down and just cried to myself as I rehear Eric screaming in pain and imagine my daughter heart and her head being ripped out.
A couple minutes later I see a pair of shoes stop in front of me and I look up to Nik staring down at me. He held out his hand for me to take and I shakily take it. He pulled up to him and brought me into a comforting hug as I continue to cry. "I believe your daughter found peace." Nik said into my ear.
"How?" I asked him my voice cracking.
"Call it a gut feeling. Rose would have been so proud to call you her mother." He said and that made me tighten my hold against him. I look behind him to see my daughter standing there smiling at me. She mouthed "I love you." Before she was surround by a bright light and then she disappeared.
~~~
Me and Nik walked back into the abattoir hand in hand to see a crowd of vampires in the open area. "Is there a reason you are loitering in my home?" He asked the crowd of people as we came to a stop in the center.
"I ask them to be here." Marcel said behind us. "We three need to settle this out in the open."
Nik turned us around to face Marcel. "I thought you would've run off by now." He said.
"Yeah. Well, this is my town. You may want me to beg forgiveness, but I'm not sorry. I may not be able to beat you guys, but I came here to face you, to end this in front of my people." Marcel gestured to all the vampires here. "If you're gonna kill me for that, get on with it."
Nik and Marcel just stare at each other for a good minute before Nik started walking away from Marcel, pulling me along with him and into his room.
