《Home | The Originals》Chapter 21: Bonding Time

There was a knock on my door. And I opened it to find Davina standing there. "What do you need?" I asked her. I'm not sure why she is even here. I haven't said a word to her since me and Marcel rescued her from the Harvest.
"I came to give this back to you." She told me and handed me my grimoire. I made it float and sit itself on a nearby table. I would have carried it but I'm carrying Angel at the moment. "I'm also here to see if you will help me practice." She said with this hopefulness in her eyes.
The more I look into her eyes the more I am about to agree into helping her. I'm starting to think I'm a sucker for children. "Alright, I'll help you." I said them walked back inside my home.
I didn't hear her come inside so I turn around to see she is glancing at the entrance and puts her hand against the invisible barrier.
"Oh, right. Sorry. I spelled it so no supernatural or humans can come in. So, Davina, would you like to come in?" I said making her smile and she finally gets through the door.
"So I'm going to teach you the basics because I'm not sure how much power you contained after taking the four Harvest girls power and then there is your own power." I told her and she nodded her head.
I grabbed a pillow and ripped it to shreds then spilled all of the feathers in the middle between us.
"Now I want you to lift a feather into the air." I told her.
"Okay. Seems easy enough." She said then a feather started to fly up in the air.
"Now try to lift them all up." I told her. She did exactly like I told her to and all the feathers started to float around us.

"What will this teach me?" Davina asked me.
"Do you notice how calm you are when you did this?" I asked her and she stayed quiet also noticing how she felt when she lifted the feathers.
"Staying calm when practicing magic will get you so far you'll be able to do a curse if you wanted." I told her and she smiled at me. "Also, you might be able to do something like this." I said.
It was silent for a while before Davina started to look around my room and seeing every furniture was starting to float around us. She looks back at me to see that I am also sort of floating off the floor and she smiled really hard. I stopped my magic and everything goes back to place.
Her phone started to ring and she said she had to leave. I escorted her out my home before rethinking what just happened. I imagine this is what it felt like when you teach your little sister something new.

When the world was on the brink in the 1940s a group of men and women with uncommon ability pulled the world from the brink. They inspired generations to come and led to a golden age of vigilantes protecting the world. Times change. By the early 2000s almost nowhere was willing to tolerate unregulated men and women dispensing their own form of justice. The dawn of the internet made operating in the shadows virtually impossible. Everyone thought the days of vigilantes were done but presidential candidate Richard Hughes, riding a wave of populism, has promised to bring these men and women into the light and empower them to keep us all safe. The passing of the Vigilantes Making Us Safe Act changes everything. All teenagers feel like they don’t fit in at times. Ryaan Asfour knows the feeling well. As part of an immigrant family in a country turning against immigrants, there’s a lot of people who don’t think he belongs. The election of Richard Hughes and the passage of the Vigilantes Making Us Safe Act hasn’t helped matters. Suddenly anyone who wants to discriminate can just say they’re keeping people safe and do whatever they want. Sudden popularity at school after hitting a game winning shot makes it even more apparent how much he doesn’t fit in with the rest of his world. The God Complex
Alon wishes to be remembered—to stamp his existence on this cruel world, to engrave the fact that "he was here" into the very Earth. This is his sole purpose; To be important. For what greater reason is there to exist if not to be remembered? People are special. People aren’t... Your actions in this life define how those left behind remember you. Once you die, you’re reborn and live on, if only for a time; The grander the actions in this life, the longer your second one becomes. Alon knows this better than anyone, and he will live in the minds and hearts of everyone in Krestelen longer than anyone that has come before. Krestelen is a place long forgotten by those outside its walls; known by most as the Cursed City of The Dead, with the Lower Tier of the City being abandoned by the Upper Tiers after an inexplicable Fog blanketed the entire sector thirty-four years ago. This Fog adds those unfortunate enough to be caught within it into the legions of Vacant roaming the empty streets of the city: A creature that has seemingly lost all reasoning and sanity, to wander around the streets crying into the palms of their hands as they beg for help, to be freed from their condition. This is the place that Alon, and the Gang led by his mentor Casian, shall steal the very source of what gives those in power—the rightfully ruling family, the Deramore's—their ability to live in luxury as those below in the Lower Tier struggles to survive. They will forever be cast into the annals of the history of this cursed place—for better, or for worse.
