《Orion》28

Bellona had her eyes fixed on Orion, who was several feet away from her, watching the feasting of Elaine and Michael, the newly wedded couple of the little town, Damerel.
Watching him with tender eyes and a curious heart, she couldn't imagine all that was going on in his head, as he gazed at the people celebrating around him with a look of disdain. Or so she thought.
Her piercing eyes bore into his side profile, watching as his soft hair rocked to and fro, covering part of his face from view.
He appeared so mysterious, she couldn't explain what it was that churned inside of her, whenever his eyes looked into hers.
"D'you care for flowers?" She heard a voice behind her.
Turning around instantly, to see a young girl with a basket of roses held forward.
"You can have it all for just two silver" The girl uttered to Bellona in a low voice.
"I would love to, but I haven't got any money on me" Bellona responded, bending down to the girl's height with a weak smile on her face.
The girl sighed lightly and then brought the basket down, the smile which rested on her face, gone in a blink of an eye.
"Uff!"
"Still waitin' on the day to bless me with buyers. Guess, I'll have to go somewhere else" She uttered, while turning around and walking away, leaving Bellona standing alone, being pitiful towards her.
She turned around immediately, after the young girl was far gone, checking on the bride and groom amongst the massive crowd of people.
Her view was suddenly clouded by a man in dark cloak charging forward towards Orion, holding a small shiny dagger which barely stuck out from underneath the clothing.
His face was carefully hidden beneath the hoodie of the cloak, all that was to be seen were his lips pressed shut tightly.

His head turned to a direction on the other side of Orion, and there it was, another man, also dressed in a full body cloak, drawing forward.
They both communicated with each other, in a body language that was so hard to comprehend with just a movement of their heads and hands, passing a message.
Making their way through the crowd, they didn't bother disturbing the feast, as they had their eyes set on just one person, Orion.
Realizing how much of a danger Orion was in, Bellona's eyes widened, searching around for Pavlos and the rest, but not a single one of them was in sight. They all had gotten lost in the crowd.
The only thing to be heard were women cheering for the couple, children waiting in line for soup to be served, and men cat-calling the young ladies who were around.
Everything seemed normal on a pretty day like this.
Bellona without hesitating, drew out the dagger which were tied around her leather boots, taking steps cautiously towards the men, realizing it all depended on her.
Shock charged through her entire body while watching the men approach Orion closely, with their blades held up ready to strike.
Hastening her feet off the grounds, she lunged forward, throwing her dagger towards one of them, watching as it sharply connected with his skin.
A loud groan was heard followed by a thud, and then people screaming everywhere, the large crowd dispersing.
Commotion erupted, as people sought shelter, trying to save themselves.
Bellona's blade had pierced the man right on his arm, bringing him down for just a short moment.
Some town guards rushed forward, leading the bride and groom to safety, while the rest of the villagers scrambled about.
Orion's head turned to look at the man who was sprawled on the ground, groaning in pains, with the dagger still in hands.

It dawned on him, that he was the one being attacked, and possibly would have been brought down by the blade which rested in the hands of the man.
At the sudden ruckus, his eyes connected with Bellona's, reading through them and noticing the fear which laid there. And for some reason, he could tell she was the one who threw the blade at the man who was now on the ground writhing in pains.
His lips parted open just a bit, with his eyes still locked in hers, shocked at that. He watched her open her mouth to speak, but he couldn't make out the words as the noise around him was just too much.
Turning around immediately, while sensing someone behind him, and just as he thought, he was met with the face of a man, ready to charge at him.
Picking his instincts, he ducked down, the moment, a dagger came rushing forward.
He rolled through, hitting the man hard in the gut, with the pommel of his sword.
Drawing his blade out instantly, while sending it down on him, he missed by just a bit, as the man was quick to tumble out of the way, moving towards his partner who was still laid on the ground with blood gushing out his arm.
They both hurried off, pushing people as they ran, getting on their horses and then fleeing the scene.
Aiden rushed forward towards Orion with an item in his hands, watching the men as they rode away.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I think so"
Sonora and Sima suddenly approached them, looking around at the crowd, wondering what was going on, with Elpida and Pavlos right behind.
"Those were bandits, you're lucky you got off" Sima uttered to Orion.
Her eyes flickered around, checking if anyone was watching them, peering closely at the dark corners.
"What's that?" Orion spoke. His eyes rested on the scroll held in Aiden's hands.
"I'm not sure"
"It dropped from them" Aiden responded.
He untied the scroll immediately, reading through it, his eyes widening a bit as he looked up at the rest.
"What's wrong?" Elpida asked immediately, stepping forward and grabbing the scroll from him.
"It's a map" Aiden muttered.
He was silent for a while, staring at each one of them, before bringing himself to say the words stuck in his guts.
"A map to the Wispy meadows" He finally said.

[Discontinued] Armus : First Draft
THIS FICTION HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. I don't recommend reading this, since the chapters are a bit haphazard (containing new edits which don't really fit in with the latter half of the story).
