《Orion》15

The sound of the breeze whistling, brought Orion to shock as he laid unconscious on the cold ground.
The distant snapping of twigs and chirping of birds didn't seem to faze him a bit, all his mind was focused on was the pain he felt from the blade which stayed pierced inches deep into his abdomen.
Low grunts escaped his lips while he tried steadying himself up, but all efforts he made, were all in vain as the young man still couldn't pull himself together.
He'd never loathed a person as much as he did Cedric.
Ripping his head out, while watching his blood flow through the cold soil of the world was all he yearned for. He sought vengeance, and that, he was hell-bent on getting.
"Orion" A soft voice called, getting him out of his thoughts.
He had his head bent low, with his hair slightly falling to the side of his face, he bothered not looking up as he could tell already who it was.
"I could help you" Followed the voice.
"Get away from me" A weak Orion grunted in response.
"You're gonna die if nothing's done"
Zephyra came into full view, while drifting towards Orion, her feet sailing in the air.
No response came from him, all that was to be heard were his grunts as he writhed in pains.
"Stubbornness, Pride, pollutes your body, Orion" Zephyra uttered in a calm voice, watching keenly as the pains took over him.
She sailed closer to him, and within a second, her eyes began glowing, with a bright light surging through her and going into Orion.
Her warm arms reached forward to cover his wound, and instantly, whimpering noises escaped Orion's lips.
Beads of sweat gathered on his forehead, hence making his hair wet, while he trembled endlessly.

Trees swayed side to side, while the wild evening breeze growled in sync, the powers of Zephyra shaking up the woods.
"Withneum Viroch Narakhtan!"
Going from a low voice, to a loud yell, she rose her head up to look at the clouded sky, while chanting the words repeatedly
"Withneum Viroch Narakhtan" She yelled louder this time.
Her eyes were raised up towards the sky, calling on the powers of the spirits to heed her call.
The whole of Orion's body shook tremendously, his head going back and forth in a dangerous manner, while his teeth grinded.
At the sound of Zephyra's voice, a wild whistle blew, accompanied with breeze sailing from the west, followed by white-like shadows, which surrounded her and Orion.
The spirits sailed around their figures, passing their powers to Zephyra.
Ear-piercing whistles came from them as they communicated with her in a strange manner.
It was like scratching noises, mixed with whispers, a dangerous sound to mere humans that could kill a person.
At this point, the spirit of Orion was already drifting away, and would forever be gone if something wasn't done immediately.
The eyes of Zephyra glowed so bright, her hands rested on him, using all of her powers to get his soul back.
The spirits roared in unison, joining in.
In a moment, the wild breeze soon came to a calm, the trees staying still, while the once clouded sky turned bright again.
The spirits were no longer there, and had sailed on already.
Slowly, Orion's eyes fluttered open, while he sat up staring at Zephyra.
"What did you do?" His voice was calm, yet filled with shock.
"I healed you" Zephyra responded.
"Why?" He asked almost immediately
"You're welcome" She smiled at him and then turned away.
In a voice so pleasing to the ears, Zephyra began speaking.

"I'm not here to hurt you Orion. I'm here to help you. Only if you'll help me"
"What do you want from me?" He asked.
"I request nothing much, but for you to hear me out. This quest is not just yours. It's everyone else's"
"We need your help Orion, for you are the only one brave enough to go on this quest. You taking it up, means saving everyone"
"I'm no Saviour" He gritted his teeth.
"To defeat Cedric and rid everyone of his tyranny, you'll need to journey far into the wispy meadows to get the staff of Geneorah" Zephyra revealed.
"What?!" He exclaimed.
"Not a single soul has been to the wispy meadows. None that I know of" He uttered.
"You'll have company" She assured him.
"You need to get the staff of Geneorah from there, which belongs to Zeno"
"Who's Zeno?" He asked immediately. Without responding to his question, Zephyra went on.
"Once you've retrieved the staff, you must go far across the seven valleys, at the top mountain of Burmindough. You'll see a palace there"
"I'm not going anywhere" Orion muttered, getting up the floor and dusting dirt off himself.
"You'll need Sima and Sonora, daughters of Queen Saidra of the the Sedona tribe to accompany you"
"Just as you'll be needing them, you'll also need yourself to complete the mission. For without you, it's useless"
"Most importantly, Orion Ray Brennan, you'll need the young maiden of Lorwich, Bellona Maynard by your side, at all times"
Orion was silent, as he tried recalling where he had heard that name from. His eyes lit up as it came flashing in his head.
"Why do I need her?!" His voice boomed.
"Swallow your pride, Orion. For when the time comes, you'll know"
"Go North, follow the Sun. Your journey begins there"
With that, Zephyra was gone.
He had a lot in wait for him. In as much as he hated taking orders, he knew he had to do it, for only then could he achieve what he yearned for.
For his father, he had to go on the 'damned' quest, and put an end to it.
Grabbing the sword his father passed on to him, he set off immediately, with no clue whatsoever on how to begin his journey.

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
