(Y/N) had received a strange dream by an unknown force and it instructs him that he along with his friends need to save Equestria from the Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Moon. (Y/N) meets Twilight Sparkle and her dragon assistant Spike and gives them a tour in Ponyville while meeting the rest of his friends along the way. (Y/N) and Twilight both tell each other about how they believe Nightmare Moon will return and they both agree to help each other out. Then as the stars crash on the moon, Nightmare Moon reveals herself to all of Equestria and vows to bring eternal night to it. However, (Y/N) was willing to stand to Nightmare Moon and protect his friends and now he is about to battle Nightmare Moon one on one. Will (Y/N) and his friends stop Nightmare Moon once and for all before all of Equestria is doomed for good?

(Y/N) and Nightmare Moon are glaring at each other as everypony watches in shock of what's happening, especially the Mane 6.

Is (Y/N) really going to fight Nightmare Moon?!

It would appear so! Is he insane?! I mean, I know he's an alicorn and all, but he shouldn't do this!

Will he be okay?

Come on Fluttershy! This is (Y/N) we're talking about here. GO (Y/N)! Whoop her flank!

Yeah! Show that meanie that she doesn't with the alicorn of Ponyville.

I've never seen him do anything so. . . brave and daring.

You are an interesting individual if you think you can defy me.

Ponyville has been a wonderful place I lived in ever since last month! I won't let you conquer it!

You alicorn foal! Do you really believe you can defeat me?

Maybe not. But I'll protect everyone even if it means I'm costing my life for it!

Nightmare Moon then blasts a laser beam at (Y/N) and he then used his own magic which covered his whole body in his aura color and he made a shield to protect himself from the beam. After the beam deflected off (Y/N)'s shield, he then shot his own beam at Nightmare Moon, but she dodged it. Nightmare Moon then creates several strikes of lightning bolts to hit (Y/N) and as he put up another shield to defend himself again, the lightning breaks his shield and (Y/N) was knocked back several feet.

While I wish that I could still punish you for defying me, I have my own matters that I need to attend to. I'll make sure all of Equestria stays night for eternity for good. *laughs evilly*

Darn it! She got away!

The Mane 6 then ran up to (Y/N) as both Pinkie and Fluttershy hugged him tightly for a second before letting him go.

Darling, that was scary! Are you okay?

Yeah I'm fine!

(Y/N), that was dangerous! You could've died! Why did you decide to fight Nightmare Moon?

I couldn't just sit there and do nothing. Besides, I didn't want anypony around to get hurt at all.

I see. . . anyways follow me back to the library! I need to find out what the Elements of Harmony are.

(Y/N) nods as he follows Twilight back to the Golden Oak Library with the rest following.

Back at the Golden Oak Library, Twilight puts an unconscious Spike to bed not wanting him to get involved with Nightmare Moon. She then rushes back to the library as both her and (Y/N) were tossing books around for the information they were looking for.

Find anything?

No. Not yet.

Elements, elements, elements. . . Ugh! How can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?

What are you two talking about? What "Elements of Harmony?" How do you two know Nightmare Moon anyways?

(Y/N) and Twilight looked at each other before (Y/N) decides to explain.

This morning, I had a dream. And apparently Nightmare Moon is actually the younger sister of Princess Celestia.

Wait, really?!

Yeah. That's the information I was given anyway. Apparently a long time ago, Princess Celestia along with her younger sister used to rule Equestria together, but one day the younger sister resented Princess Celestia out of jealousy when everyone paid more attention to her. She then refused to lower the moon one day and she turned into Nightmare Moon. Princess Celestia tried to reason with her, but it was no use. Princess Celestia then reluctantly had to use the Elements of Harmony like Twilight said to banish her to the moon for a thousand years and now she's returned.

That's horrible.

I know. I said the same thing. Twilight, what are the Elements of Harmony you've been mentioning?

Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop Nightmare Moon, but I don't know exactly what they are, where to find them; I don't even know exactly what they do!

Twilight pushed Pinkie away to confirm her search and it was the book she's been looking for.

Oh! That explained why many of the books had the same letters on them.

Twilight took the book out and began to read it aloud for everypony to hear.

It's said that there are six know Elements of Harmony. Five of them are Kindness, Laughter, Loyalty, Honesty, and Generosity while the sixth element is unknown. Legends say that there used to be a seventh element of Harmony, but only one would be worthy of wielding it once all six elements are combined. The last known location was in the Castle of the Two Sisters in the Everfree Forest.

I'm coming with you!

No! WE are comin' with you!

Wait, everypony, I appreciate the gestures, but this is something I need to do on my own. (Y/N), I know you promised that you'd help me, but I don't want to put you in harms way.

(Y/N) here is right. We ain't lettin' no friend of ours go into that place alone so we'll be stickin' with ya like a caramel on an apple.

Everyone looked at Pinkie with confused looks.

What? Those things are good.

(Y/N) rolled his eyes and smirked.

The Mane 7 then arrive outside the entrance of the Everfree Forest.

So this is the Everfree Forest? (Thoughts) It kinda looks familiar.

Yes it is. The Castle of Two Sisters should be on the other side of the forest.

Alright then. Let's head out.

A few minutes later, the Mane 7 continue to walk through the Everfree Forest and reach a cliffside while everypony besides (Y/N) and Twilight were shaking which they noticed.

So none of you have been in here before?

Ugh, heavens no! Just look at it. It's so dreadful.

And it ain't natural. Folks say it don't work the same as Equestria.

As the Mane 7 were busy, Nightmare Moon's mist seeps into the cliffside.

What's that suppose to mean?

Rainbow Dash said that in a creepy tone as it started to make Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Rarity shiver nervously.

Quit it, Rainbow Dash.

Cause everypony who's ever come in has never come out!

*sarcastically* Oooh. So scary. So far there's really been nothing that's unnatural.

Then the ground rumbled which confused some of the ponies.

What was that?

Suddenly, there was a loud crash and the ground beneath the Mane 7 break away as Nightmare Moon's mist flies away from the cliffside. Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack and Twilight tumble down the slope while screaming while (Y/N), Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy avoided the fall by flying with their wings.

Fluttershy! (Y/N)! Quick, we have to help them!

Right!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!

Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, and Applejack scream as they fall down the slope which leads to a large drop off of a cliff. Rainbow Dash saves Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy saves Rarity, and (Y/N) saves Applejack, but Twilight kept sliding down the slope and she soon ended hanging off the edge of the cliff.

SOMEPONY HELP!

(Y/N)! We need to save her!

Got it!

Both (Y/N) and Applejack landed in front of Twilight and grabbed her front legs to keep her from falling.

Applejack! (Y/N)! What do I do?!

Both Applejack and (Y/N) held her tightly before Applejack looked up and saw something and then looked back at Twilight.

Let go.

Are you crazy?

No I ain't. I promise you'll be safe.

That's not true!

Twilight, Applejack is telling the truth. Trust us. Let go and you'll be perfectly safe.

Twilight hesitated but nodded and let go of their hooves. At first, Twilight was screaming that she was falling, but she was quickly caught by both Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. They then carried her back to the ground where everypony else was.

Are you okay Twilight?

I'm fine. Thank you for asking.

Still that was weird.

What do you mean (Y/N)?

That cliff just broke out of nowhere. *gasps* Nightmare Moon! She's onto us.

What do you mean darling?

She's onto our plan to get the Elements of Harmony and use them against her. We need to hurry to the castle quickly.

The Mane 6 nodded in agreement and rushed through however Twilight stayed behind for a second to ask (Y/N) something.

Hey (Y/N).

What is it?

Did Applejack know that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy would save me?

Yeah. And that's the thing I like the most about Applejack. She's always honest and would never tell a lie to her family and friends, even if it's a good or a bad thing.

Twilight thought about Applejack for a second and smiled.

I see. . .

Come on, let's go catch up with the rest of our friends.

Twilight nodded as they both run ahead to catch up with the rest of the Mane 7.

Nightmare Moon's mist watched the Mane 7 leave and quickly flew ahead to find the next peril to prevent the Mane 7 from getting closer to the Elements of Harmony.

And once Pinkie and Rarity were saved, whoosh. . . me and Fluttershy loop de-loop around and WHAM! Caught you in the nick of time!

Yeah yeah Dash. We were all there when it happened, no need to- *gasps*

The Mane 7 saw ahead of them a creature that was a hybrid between a lion and scorpion appeared before the Mane 7.

A manticore! We have to get past him!

The manticore who whose name is Manny Roar tried to attack the Mane 7, but Rarity kicks him in the face with her hind legs.

Take that you ruffian!

Manny Roar then gave out a loud roar which messed up Rarity's mane.

My mane!

(Y/N) was about to join the rest in attacking Manny Roar, but Fluttershy got his attention.

Wait.

Huh. Why? Do you notice something?

Fluttershy nods her head and they both look to see that the rest of them were still attacking Manny Roar, but (Y/N) yelled out to get their attention.

EVERYPONY STOP!

Everypony heard (Y/N) and they look at him confused. (Y/N) turns to Fluttershy and gestures for her to go ahead. Fluttershy walks up to Manny Roar and he looked ready to attack Fluttershy. The other mares were about to step in, but (Y/N) puts his hoof out to stop them.

Fluttershy knows what she's doing. . . I hope.

Fluttershy grabbed Manny Roar's left paw with her hoof.

There, there, it's okay.

Fluttershy inspected Manny Roar's left paw to reveal that there was a very thick thorn on it.

Oh you poor, poor little baby.

Little?!

This stunned everypony, but (Y/N) sweatdropped while letting out a nervous chuckle.

Okay. . . maybe not "little".

Everypony watches as Manny Roar gives Fluttershy a sad look.

Now this might hurt for a second.

Fluttershy quickly pulled the thorn out of Manny Roar's paw and he roared and scooped Fluttershy towards his mouth.

Fluttershy!

However, there was no need to be worried as it revealed that Manny Roar wasn't eating her, but licking Fluttershy as he was grateful for her for removing the thorn out of his paw and he began to purr which made the Mane 6 sigh in relief and smile while Fluttershy giggles.

Aw you're just a little ol' baby kitty, aren't you? Yes you are, yes you are.

A few seconds later Manny put Fluttershy down and decided to leave. He waved goodbye to Fluttershy and went on his way.

How did you know about the thorn?

I didn't. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness.

Fluttershy fixed her mane which was a little messy from Manny Roar licking her earlier and Twilight turned towards (Y/N).

You weren't kidding when you said she was good with animals.

Fluttershy's kind to not only animals, but to everypony out there too. I reason I find her to kind of cute just being herself.

I see. . .

The Mane 7 continue walking into the forest, however they didn't notice that the thorn that Fluttershy pulled out of Manny Roar's paw turned into purple mist and flew away.

The Mane 7 were continuing their journey through the forest.

No. My eyes need a rest from all this icky muck.

The moon was then blocked by the cover of the trees, making everypony's vision pitch black.

Really?

I didn't mean it literally!

While the Mane 7 were all busy trying to go through the darkness, Nightmare Moon's mist weaved around them and seeped into the trees.

That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces and we wouldn't even know it.

Somepony then accidentally bumped into Twilight and it was Rarity.

I didn't see you there, my apologies.

Right here. . . guh!

Rainbow Dash then accidentally bumped into (Y/N).

Ow! That was me!

Sorry! Sorry!

Oh wait, I think I stepped in somethin'.

*screams*

Oh, it's just mud.

Soon everypony regained their vision slightly and everypony heard an ominous growl coming from one of the trees with a scary face on it making Applejack yell. Then more growls were heard as more trees then showed themselves all with scary faces and they were all growling at the Mane 7. The mares screamed and (Y/N) got in front of them to protect them in case anything tried to harm them. All of the mares were scared. . . except for Pinkie Pie as she is seen laughing and making silly faces at the trees surprising the Mane 6.

Pinkie, what are you doing?! Run!

Yeah! This could be dangerous!

Oh everypony, don't you see?

Pinkie then began to do something none of the others were expecting at all. . .

She began to sing!

Then as if by magic, the scary tree turned into a normal tree with no faces on them and even the darkness around them has disappeared which made everypony gasp and then. . .

They started laughing!

Soon all of the scary trees have disappeared and everypony was laughing themselves silly.
