{Nike}
"Nigga pass the ball" Chris yelled, I chuckled at his aggravation. We was chillin playing 2k at the crib. We was waiting on Tray to pull up, we was sliding down to Orlando this weekend on some business.
"Jhit you cheating" I smacked my gums. Dude really thought he was better than me.
'Buzz' my phone rung making me pause the game.
"Aye jhit" Chris whined turning his head my way.
"Whole up G" I spoke. I snatched my phone out my pocket, looking at the screen Zoe's contact name stood at the top of my screen. I let the phone ring a little before declining the call. Getting back to the game.
Chris already started talking his shit. I laughed as he really was getting angry, jhit can't beat me, I'm the greatest of all time!
'Buzz' my phone buzzed as it was still on silent. I paused the game once again, making Chris even madder.
"Nike bro, you trippin" he said, smacking his guns. "Whole up bro, let me take this call real quick" I repeated. I got up, trailing up the steps. Entering my room, I sat down onto my bed, "Yo" I spoke into the phone. What the hell could Zoe want right now? I started to get irritated at the fact she was blowing my shit up.
"Hello, your speaking with Ruth from Lipid Labz. could I speak with Nike Wade?" She asked
"This is him" I looked at my phone confused, who the fuck was this?
"Great, I'm calling on behalf to inform you that your tests between Messiah Bryant and Nike Wade have came back in yesterday" she spoke.
My heart began racing, thumping faster and faster. Fuck, I'm so nervous.
My palms began sweating as I realized this would finally be the time I would know if this kids really mine.
Me and Anaya haven't spoken since our petty fall out. It's been three days since then. I just been cooling, I haven't seen Messiah since either. I been calling to check up on him, but for now I get only FaceTime calls.
"Yeah, I been expecting a call" I spoke back.
"Could I get your date of birth sir" she replied, asking. "March 15th, 2004" I replied.

"Ok, let me pull up the screen here" she spoke, she sounded concentrated. My heart beat like a drum as the anticipation built up.
"Probability of paternity came back to be, zero percent". My heart sunk. Zero percent? Wait what?
"Hello" the women repeated on the other end. I couldn't speak. I couldn't bring myself to it.
Ignoring her a few times, I finally shot back into reality. Without saying a word back, I just hung up. Y'all just don't know how much that hurt me, I really treated little dude like my own, I sacrificed so much for the both of them that nobody even knows bout. Late nights of grinding so I could provide, friends and families I've lost because of this whole situation.
A close friend I knew as a brudda past away when Anaya was seven months pregnant, that I still haven't even gotten over. But I kept my head up because my feelings don't matter nomore. It's all about that little boy, everyday I wake up in the morning every choice I make is for that kid. Slacking ain't an option, I gotta grind to provide for my own.
"Man what fuck" I yelled as I got up. Punching the wall, leaving a big hole.
Tears fell out my eyes, rolling down my cheek. I took a deep breath tryna calm my self. My phone was clutched in my other hand. I lifted it up going straight to my contacts, I pressed 'babymomma' calling.
{Anaya}
I was chilling at home feeding Messiah. My fit was cute but basic. I had just came from my cousin house so she could see Messiah, man I swear Ashley love her a piece of Messiah. I mean who doesn't!
I wore a gray t shirt. There were wide pockets on the front of the top. To match it I wore the gray shorts that went with the matching set.
I let my long straight hair hang down.
'Ring' my phone rung letting me know someone was calling. I got up, Messiah in my arms and all. I made my way over to the table lifting up my phone. Nikes contact name stood at the top of my screen, I rolled my eyes getting irritated all over again.

Being the mature piece I am, I answered.
"Hello" I spoke answering the phone. Sniffles came from the other end, like light cries.
"Yo, I'm coming over to see Messiah" he spoke. He didn't sound the same as he usually did, his voice was dull and cracking.
"Nike you already know wssup right now, I'm not tryna see you at this moment" I spoke speaking my truth, I didn't give attitude. From his mood, he already sounded like he wasn't having an ok day. I know how my temper is, and I'm really not tryna argue right now.
"I'm bout to leave now, I'll be there in 20" before I could even open my mouth to respond, the call ended. Is this nigga serious? He knows we not in a cool state of mind to be around each other right now.
In less than 20 minutes, a gray car pulled up in my driveway. I watched them pull up as I stared out the window. Nike got out, walking up to the front door. A knock came from the other end. I placed a sleeping Messiah down in his new sing Nike had got him. Man this dude spoils my baby to death! What I can say is, Nike has always provided for Messiah since day one. Diapers, Wipes, Formula. Anything Messiah needs, he got it.
I walked up to door, unlocking it, then turning the doorknob. The door swung open and there stood Nike on the other side. He was looking handsome, dripped down. He still gets on my damn nerves though!
"Wssp?" I spoke, I raised a eyebrow at him. I stood in the doorway with the door halfway open.
"Man move" Nike looked me straight in my face, I could tell he was serious. My heart started beating, he looked scary.
I moved out the way, letting him in. He walked past, I could smell the strong scent of marijuana coming off his clothes as he went by.
Looking outside, Tray sat in the driver seat of his car. Chris sat in the backseat, he looked up and we made eye contact. Out of fight or flight, I looked away slamming the door shut.
I walked over to the living section, sitting on the couch across from the one Nike was on. He sat on the sectional gazing down at Messiah. he snatched off his hoodie, picking Messiah up out his swing.
He placed a kiss on his forehead as a tear flowed down his face.
"I love you" he mumbled staring down at a still sleeping messiah. He spoke in between tears.
"You okay?" I asked. I was confused. What had just went down?
He ignored me, continuing to gaze down at Messiah.
'Buzz' my phone rang again. I jumped up once more making my way back over to the table, I snatched up my phone looking at the contact name. 'Lipid Labz Inc' came across the screen, my heart sunk to my ass. Here we go again.
"Hello" I greeted after answering the call.
"Hello, This is Ruth from Lipid Labz. Am I speaking with Anaya Bryant?" She asked, she talked fast.
"Yes this is she" I replied.
"Great, I was just calling to inform you. The test results for Nike Wade and Messiah Bryant have came back in, the probability of paternity was zero." She talked. My heart sunk further down.
I froze up for a minute.
"Thank you" I responded. Before she could respond I hung up the phone.
I looked over at Nike, he was looking up at me. "I already know" he spoke as I went to open my mouth.
His eyes were full of tears. He looked back down at Messiah, a slight smile came across Messiahs face. This really broke Nike down.
Nike tried hiding his pain. He placed Messiah back down in his swing. Without saying a word to me, he kissed Messiahs forehead saying his last goodbye before leaving the building. He walked out the front door slamming it behind him.
All I could do was stand there in shock, shit just keeps pilling on in my life. I just wanted to run out there and pull him into a big ass hug. I just didn't have the strength to. One part of me hated myself for having sympathy for this nigga, he finally feels the pain he gave to me. Another part of me hated seeing him like this. I just want this shit over, Now!
